Old Madam Harrisons’ words were nothing out of the ordinary for prestigious families.

After all, no one would willingly offend a more influential family.

In the past, when Vicky was married to Tyler, he had never treated her well and rarely took her to socialevents. Additionally, given his status and position, he no longer needed to please members of otherfamilies, so Vicky had not really made an effort to ingratiate herself with anyone.

However, being from the service industry herself, she understood the pain of having to please people. Itcould be said that prestigious families were not as glamorous as ordinary people believed.

Vicky nodded in response. “Alright.”

Soon, Vicky got into Elijah’s car and headed to the bridal shop.

As everyone was watching, Vicky could not sit in the back seat, so she opened the car door and sat inthe front passenger seat. Aurora and Tyler, on the other hand, went in another car.

Watching the car ahead, Vicky asked, “Are your parents and Grandma still oblivious about my pastrelationship with Tyler? Should we tell them?”

Although she had once been Tyler’s wife, she rarely accompanied him to social events, and all theonline photos of them had been deleted at Tyler’s instruction. Therefore, many people did notrecognize her. Tyler’s previous rumored partners were more famous than she was.

Elijah replied, “There’s no need forthat. Our relationship isn’t real. They’ll only worry if they replace out,which is unnecessary.”

However, Vicky furrowed her brows slightly. A hint of melancholy appeared on her face.

Elijah reassured her, “Don’t worry, I’ll handle this matter.”

Hearing Elijah’s response, Vicky did not say anything further.

Lost in her own thoughts, she remained silent throughout the journey.

The car soon arrived at the entrance of the bridal shop.

It was only when Vicky opened the car door that she remembered that they were there to try onwedding dresses. She hastily asked Elijah, “Are we really going to try on wedding dresses today?”

“Well, since Tyler and the others are here, we can only go along with it and give it a try,” Elijah replied.

Earlier, Elijah promised that they would not have an actual engagement ceremony, so Vicky did not paymuch attention to the matter. However, the sudden need to try on wedding dresses left her with astrange feeling. When she was with Tyler, they had never tried on wedding dresses.

The four of them entered the bridal shop one after the other.

An enthusiastic staff member greeted them, “Welcome, Miss Starling. The wedding dress you orderedhas already been customized. Please follow me. Mister Hart, please come as well.”

Clearly, Aurora and Tyler were regulars here, as even the staff recognized them.

Aurora glanced at Tyler and whispered, “Tyler, shall I go try on the wedding dress first?”

Tyler nodded and Aurora went into the dressing room with a smile.

Two other attendants approached Vicky and Elijah.

“Sir, have you ordered a dress?”

Vicky scowled.

She and Elijah had only been pretending to be engaged, so there could not possibly be a dress.

Right as Vicky was about to say that they had not ordered any dress and merely wanted to try onanything available, Tyler, who was standing in the distance, turned to look at them.

His dark eyes were as dark as a starless night, and he seemed to be staring at them casually.
