Chapter 1028
“Aurora asked calmly, “Why should you break up with him just because of that woman? It’s not worth itto break up with him since the two of you are getting married soon. Besides… aren’t all men the same?
“My dad has countless mistresses, and my mom let him be as long as he did not have a kid out ofwedlock or ask her for a divorce. Of course, he would still have to perform his husbandly duties in frontof others. However, apart from that, she was content with her marriage.”
“But if it were you… what would you do if you found out that your husband has a mistress?” Vickyasked.
Aurora smiled haplessly. “No feelings last forever, and marriages like mine are usually arranged by ourparents in order to further their business interests. There’s no love to speak of. Even those who marriedout of love would eventually have an affair or break up down the line.”
Vicky was speechless.
Aurora patted her on the shoulder. “Of course, it’s better to break up if you can’t handle the betrayal, but what I really want to say is, you should forgive him since you’ve already made up your mind to bewith him. As for the rest of the stuff … Well, that’s something for future you to worry about.”
Vicky looked at her. “Is that how you treat your marriage with Tyler too?”
Aurora smiled at her. “Yup. I didn’t like you at first because you humiliated me in front of everyone, butnow that you’re going to get married too… I thought that it’ll be okay for you and me to be friends.”
“And what if your fiance had a lover before the two of you got married?” Vicky asked hesitantly.
Aurora thought about her question for a while before answering, “I’ll still get married to him, but I’llmake sure to deal with the matter after that.”
Vicky took a deep breath and decided to tell her the truth.
“Miss Starling, Tyler and I are actually…”
However, Aurora cut her off because she could finish speaking.
“I know there’s nothing going on between the two of you so don’t worry. There’s no misunderstandinghere.”
“No, what I wanted to say was… that day, during Old Madam Harrison’s birthday party…”
Aurora smiled. “I know everything. You don’t have to explain anything to me.”
“No, I—”
“Hey, that dress is so pretty! Let’s go try it on!”
A dress caught Aurora’s attention, so she was not listening to what Vicky was trying to say at all. Hereyes immediately lit up, and then she made a beeline to the shop.
Vicky remained where she was in a state of shock. She then sighed as she looked at Aurora happilytrying on the dress.
Aurora was a shopaholic, and once she started, she could not stop. The reason Vicky asked her to goshopping with her was to get her out of the house so that Tyler had time to leave. She also wanted totell Aurora about what was going on with her and Tyler.
However, she did not even have a chance to tell her all that since Aurora had been buying non-stop.Vicky tried to tell her during what little break time they had, but they were always interrupted bysomething unexpected. Aurora did not stop shopping until nighttime, and by then, she only stopped outof exhaustion.
Aurora’s hands were full of shopping bags. “Let’s call it a day. We can continue shopping tomorrow.”
Vicky’s hands, too, were full of shopping bags, but they were all Aurora’s purchases. She looked atAurora in disbelief and asked, “We’re going to do this again tomorrow?”
Aurora said matter-of-factly, “Of course! We’re getting married soon, so it’s normal to buy many things!”
She pointed at the shopping bags Vicky was holding and added, “I think those things suit you more, soyou can have them. Let’s go back and try them on right away.”
Vicky was stunned. “Go back? Where?”
Then she suddenly thought of something. “To your place.
Well… you know how I had a fight with my parents, right? Yeah, I don’t really want to go back home fornow.”
She looked at Vicky. “So… can I stay at your place until I’m ready to go back home?”
