Since Aurora was the one who introduced Gilbert to Vicky, she knew he was a good guy.

"Vicky, being in the same agency as him, I can guarantee what the woman said about him having amessy love life and catching him in bed with another woman are all untrue.You've seen the picturestoo, right? They were all from their high school days.I'm pretty sure she won't be able to give any recentpictures of them together at all.Plus, all those chat messages are fake.

"But you know what's weird? The moment our agency found out about this, they tried to remove thetrending search but never could.In fact, the trending search became even more popular to the pointthat negative comments and unfounded rumors appeared out of nowhere like tidal waves.

"My manager said there was a high chance Gilbert crossed somebody he couldn't afford to cross forsomething like this to happen to him.The woman who exposed him could be just a pawn to hurt him."Vicky's heart sank.

"What would happen to Gilbert if this scandal doesn't get cleared up?" Aurora sighed.

"He'll have to quit the entertainment industry along with his endorsement contracts.The worst part is hewould've to pay a hefty sum for pulling out of the movie contracts.Basically, it'll be game over for him."

Vicky was speechless.

Aurora thought Vicky was so worried about Gilbert that she could not speak, so she tried to comforther, "But, our PR team is very experienced when it comes to this kind of matter.I'm pretty sure they'll beable to clear up the allegations since they were all false.The agency wouldn't give up on him that easilysince he won the ‘Best Actor’ award before."

Vicky's lips moved slightly, but she did not say anything.

After hanging up the phone, she looked at Tyler, who was casually leaning on the doorway.

"You did this, didn't you?"

It was more of a rhetorical question since she was sure he did it.She knew him better than anyone, andthis had his fingerprints written all over it.

"I've already warned you to stay away from him," replied Tyler serenely, not denying that he hadsomething to do with the matter.

Vicky tried to hold back her anger.

"I've told you a thousand times that nothing is going on between me and him!"

"If nothing is going on between you and him, would he have stayed at your studio for the whole day?Did he just happen to bump into you at the restaurant and give you a ride back home? And how do youexplain how he knew you'd be meeting a friend at night?"

Tyler threw her one rapid-fire question after another.

"He was in my studio because we had an endorsement contract to go over! The restaurant meetingwas purely a coincidence.As to how he knew I'd be meeting a friend, it's because he was next to mewhen Aurora called for a meetup!"

Vicky did not really want to explain all that to him, but she was not the woman she was four years agoanymore.

Never would she say things she did not mean in a fit of anger.

This would only bring more trouble to her and Gilbert.

In the end, she would have no choice but to beg for him to show mercy if she was not careful, so it wasbetter if she explained everything.

After a few seconds of silence, Vicky said, "I only met up with him yesterday to talk aboutcollaborating.After that, he came to sign the contract and take photos today.Since we've decided towork together, I thought I should treat him to a meal out of politeness when I received a call from Avery,so I had no choice but to tell him I'll be meeting a friend tonight."

However, Tyler chose to zero in on only one part of her explanation.

"You wanted to treat him to a meal? Just the two of you?!"

Vicky pursed her lips before saying, "No.Aurora will be joining us too."

Only then did Tyler's face soften a little.

"If that's the case, it shouldn't be hard for you to stay away from him in the future.

"You have my word."

Tyler's eyebrow went up at how quickly Vicky gave in.

He glanced at her and said lightly, "Don't forget to terminate the contract with him."

Vicky frowned.

"As I've told you, my relationship with him is purely work-related.You can't possibly expect me to stayaway from all guys while I'm working, right?"

"That's exactly what I expect."
