LUCIFER'S HUMAN BRIDE -
GETTING A PORTFOLIO
"No but human ways are quite bizarre and stupid sometimes, they invite a lot of people to their interviews with the intention of only hiring one of them," Medusa said and continued. "They ask a lot of questions in interviews; they even ask for a portfolio." She said.
"A portfolio? What's that?" Lucinda questioned.
"It's more like a CV." She explained.
"A CV?" Lucinda asked feeling extremely dumb.
"It means curriculum vitae; this is a document that has everything about an individual and also contains their skills and abilities to impress the interviewer," Medusa said
"So how do I get a CV?" Lucinda asked.
"You can get it in a cafe," Medusa stated.
"Can you take me to a cafe so I can get one done?" Lucinda inquired.
"Of course, let's go." Medusa said, ready to walk to the door when Lucinda spread her wings and flew out of the house through the roof in the blink of an eye. "Holy shit!" Medusa exclaimed. "She will come back." She added standing with her hands on her waist. Lucinda flew back into the house and landed properly on the ground, panting. "What's wrong? W-Why didn't you follow me?" she asked, pissed.
"We are on earth, remember; we can't fly to places; we need to act normal and lay low," Medusa remarked as she walked closer to Lucinda, who was feeling bad. "I feel limited on earth; maybe being a human isn't a good thing after all; they are all weak and don't have abilities; they have to walk to places; it's so tiring." Lucinda expressed herself. "Okay, can we go now?" she asked as Medusa was arranging her hair.
"Let's go already, walking through the door with our human legs, like normal people." Lucinda said in a sarcastic tone, walking like a robot toward the door.
"You say humans are lazy, but if you ask me, you are the lazy one." Medusa commented. "Wait outside for me; I need to get something; I can't go out like this." Medusa said. Lucinda twisted her lips and went out of the house without wasting much time. She waited there for Medusa, who came out later, wearing a white fur coat. Lucinda touched the fur coat, feeling its smoothness and softness in her hand. "What is this? I want one too." She said touching it. Medusa smacked her hand off. "Why didn't you buy one at the mall?" Medusa asked.
"Excuse me, I am just getting used to human things okay...I want it anyway." Lucinda said taking the fur coat from Medusa, who felt weak as she put on a cold face and watched Lucinda take it from her, leaving her with only the black tank top she was wearing.
"Queen that bullies her servant," Medusa muttered to herself.
"I don't bully you, do I?" Lucinda asked without expecting a reply.
After taking a taxi ride, they arrived at the major internet café in the city. They both walked into the café, grabbing everyone's attention.
"She is such a beauty." Some people in the café murmured; others were browsing the internet; while some were playing PC games. They looked around for a second before walking to the guy that was behind the counter, welcoming everyone into the café.
"How may I help you, ladies?" He asked with a grin.
"My girl here wants a CV real quick." Medusa replied flatly.
"Okay, ma'am, go and meet that guy over there. He will make one for you," he said, pointing at a guy operating a computer in a corner of the cafe. He was sitting close to a printer. Lucinda narrowed her eyes and started walking toward the guy, while Medusa followed her.
She put her hair in front of her and sat on the seat next to the guy, staring at the screen of the computer.
"What's this?" she asked, pointing at the computer.
"It is called a computer," the guy replied, looking at her in a weird way. Her beauty hit him like lightning; he didn't know when he lost his senses just staring directly at her face.
"How may I help you?" he asked, avoiding her gaze.
"I want you to make me a CV," she replied.
"Uh, why don't you do it yourself online and come here for the printout?" he asked.
"Oh, online, I never thought of that. Now that I am here, just make me one," she replied.
"Okay," he opened a document on the computer and started asking her questions while filling the form. Medusa just stood behind them, supervising the whole thing with her hands folded across her chest. "So... tell me your full name, Miss, not your first name," he said to Lucinda.
"My name I-is Lucinda Lucinda Lucinda..." she trailed off, thinking of a surname.
"Blake." Medusa cut in.
"Yes, L-Lucinda Blake." She stuttered nervously. "Mmm hmmm." He muttered and narrowed his eyes at her, trying to fill in the information.
"Do you have any working experience?" he asked.
"Yes, I used to work as a gardener back in hell." She beamed. Her answer caught him by surprise, making him burst into laughter. "Hahaha, nice one." He commented while still laughing.
"What's funny?" She asked confusedly, and he smiled at her, putting on a straight face. He ignored her and continued making the CV. He finished making the CV and stretched his muscles before printing it out for her. He grabbed the printed copy and turned to her.
"Nice working with you, miss. That will be two hundred dollars," he said, giving her the paper.
"Two hundred dollars. Isn't that too expensive?" Lucinda asked.
"It's not expensive. You gave me a lot of stress; I even had to calculate your age, so you have to pay more." He declared rubbing his temples.
"Here is your money." Medusa said, handing him the money. He let Lucinda take the papers from him; she smiled like a child as he gladly accepted the money from Medusa, thinking today was his lucky day. Medusa grabbed Lucinda's wrist, and they both made their way out of the internet café. Lucinda pulled her hand out of Medusa's grip, still staring at the CV.
"CV," she said slowly, lifting it in the air.
"Let's go." Medusa said she was walking ahead of her with her hands in her pockets.
"Aren't we going to take a taxi?" Lucinda asked.
"Let's walk home, and besides, we need to save money," Medusa said with a faint smile.
"But I will start working tomorrow; you don't have to think about money anymore." Lucinda assured.
"I know you will, but humans get paid monthly after working their butts off." Medusa replied.
"So, you mean they will work for days without getting paid? Shit! Humans' lives are damn hard," Lucinda lamented with a big frown on her face.
