Luna Abigail
Chapter 41

Abby’s P.O.V.

The pack party after the ceremonies was an absolute blast. Ornata and Jamie looked after the children, with the help of their mates. Kennock and Greyson were both so smitten with the babies, but tried to act all tough when they thought someone was looking.

After the stage part ended, pack members surrounded me and the others, congratulating and wishing us all the best. I could feel their happiness, as it was my own, after transferring power.

I even got to ask Matt why I had not seen the beta and gamma parents couples of both packs before now. I had thought little about it until the point where we were standing on stage. Matt laughed.

“Well, Kaiden’s parents work for the company as well, so they have been traveling with his brother all around the realms doing contracts, and meeting new work associates. Brandon’s parents keep to themselves. His mother is very ill, so she does not have the strengths to attend everything. As for Jonathan and Jeremy. Leo took away their rightful places because of different opinions. After Kennock took over their body and mind, thanks to you, my Queen.” I smirk at that, and he k****s my hand before continuing.

“He reinstated them as beta and gamma. They have been working hard on getting this fusion between our packs to go smoothly, and to get their bearings again. I heard they were relieved they only had to do it for a short period, and they would travel the realms for some time after this ceremony.” It made sense, but I still had a feeling of missing out on something with them, not having met them before.

The two weeks until the alpha gathering went smoothly. Matt took some long days, getting up to date with work – his company in the human and supernatural realms. Greyson had been doing most of it, and he assured his son he was happy to continue for some time yet. He knew Matt, and I had more than enough on our plates with the twins, who were almost a month old, and this gathering. It was the day before everyone should arrive, and I was working in the study, when a mind-link from a guard distracts me.

“Luna Queen. We have some guest arriving at the gate.” Huh. What guests?

“And?” I ask back.

“They say they are the King and Queen of the fae’s.” He replies after a minute. The King and Queen of the… F**K! Morgan.

I mind-link her to meet me at the gate, and I teleport there after telling Matt about them as well. I know he will alert Brandon. What do they want? And why now?

I arrive at the gate, surprising the guards, who all smile while bowing. I hate it still, but I know they are proud to be guards of the royal pack, and have come to accept that I can’t get rid of the title or the bowing. They just bow their heads now, which is an immense relief.

A moment later, Morgan, Matt and Brandon arrive in a car. Morgan looks pale, and Brandon wraps his arms around her, holding her close and whispering things in her ear. She nods.

I give the guards the signal to open up when Matt takes my hand. We stand in front of Morgan and Brandon, as to show them we will protect her no matter what! I know Galaxy has called for the other star wolves, and they arrive just as the car pulls up.

Isadora, Daemon, Sami and Benjamine arrived yesterday, so we could have some family time before everything went down.

Out of the car comes the driver, who opens the door for the couple inside. The man is handsome, but has a cold aura around him, and his eyes are stern as the look at me and Matt up and down. He is sizing us up. Galaxy stirs, and I feel how Matt stiffens under the man icy stare. Both our wolves dislike him, and they are ready to fight if necessary. Beside him joins a very beautiful woman. And as cold as his aura is, hers is the exact opposite. She takes his hand before smiling at us.

“Is this the Silver Moon pack?” The woman asks with a voice as sweet and melodic as her aura.

“It is. And how may we be of service to the King and Queen of the fae?” Matt answers politely, with a slight head bow. Not too much, because we are of their rank, but enough to be politically correct.

“We are searching for our daughter, Morgan? We were told her and her coven had moved here and live on these pack lands?” The woman says, looking around in mild interest.

“Excuse me, madam, but before we proceed, may I ask your names?” I ask as politely as I can under the stare of her husband. She looks at me with narrow eyes before smiling again.

“Of course, of course. How rude of us. I am Elise and this is my husband, Erik. And who might you be, young lady?”

“I am Abigail and this is my mate and fiance Matthew.” If she is laying down the titles, so are we. I am not a conceded bitch and will show them hospitality as long as they behave themselves. Galaxy agrees, but she is sensing something I can’t and is on high alert. Mind-linking that to the others, all of them say the same. Something is wrong.

I narrow my eyes and tap into my powers. Their aura. It’s off. I am so done with shit like this. If someone wants to talk to one of MY sisters and pack mates, they will do it openly and not hide shit. I roll my eyes at them and lift my hands. Purple and silver light swirl from my hands to their figure, and when it lifts the couple looks slightly different.

The woman is still exquisite, but she looks younger than before and her ears are not human but pointed at the top. Not as much as the man’s ears though, but that might be because she became what she us when he marked her his.

The man looks sour. His expressions have not changed, but he also looks different. Roughly handsome, but younger. His eyes have widened in shock, but then he laughs.

“Young lady, how on earth did you know?” He asks with a mild tone. He smiles at his wife, nudging her in the ribs.

“I told you it wouldn’t work.” He teases, before extending a hand towards me.

“King Erik of the fae, at your service, Queen Abigail, of werewolves and magic folk.” He says with a small smile. His eyes are softer, and his voice is booming with fatherly warmth. A 360-degree turn. Elise laughs when I shake her husband’s hands with a confused expression.

“We didn’t know if you knew of us? Our realm is well hidden, and I understand from my own time living here; faes are only a myth these days. We didn’t want to alert you, so I hid our true form from you.” I nod.

“My wolf knew, and so did everyone else around here.” I gesture to the others, who have snuck closer and closer towards us. They didn’t want to chance it with a member of our family, especially when she just came back to us.

“Non the less, your powers are very prominent! I didn’t believe Erik when he told me the child of Mallory could break my magic. It is powerful, if I say so myself. But then again, he has met your mother long ago, and I never had the pleasure.” Elise is definitely the talkative of the two.

“But tell me, Queen Abigail, is our daughter here? Can we meet her? Please.” Her eyes are teary and her voice is shaking. I mind-link Morgan. This is not my call.

Behind me, I hear footsteps. Matt and I move aside and Morgan walks up to us with her hand secure in Brandon’s. She smiles at me, and so does he. They respect us for not being dictators. This is her/their call! If she doesn’t want to, we will never force her and if she wants to, we will welcome her parents into the family.

Third person P.O.V.

Morgan walks up to her rulers and friends. They are close, and she respects them above everyone but Brandon. He and their daughter are her number one priority, and she will defy her rulers for them. She looks down. Her parents are here. But why? The questions are running a mile a minute in her head, swirling together into incoherent masses.

“Is this the Silver Moon pack?” The woman asks with a voice as sweet and melodic as her aura.

Her grab on Brandon’s hand is tightening.

‘Babe, relax. Breath, please. You are okay, and I am right here. I’m not going anywhere!’ He says in her mind, sensing his mate’s distraught.

‘But, I am never met them before. Why are they here, Brandon? Why couldn’t they just leave me alone?’ Morgan asks back, irritation burning in her voice.

‘You’ll never know if you don’t ask?’ Brandon reasons with her. She sighs. She knows he is right, but doesn’t make it easier to swallow.

Elise senses her daughter’s hesitation, and she understands why. She and Erik have been distant and hidden all her life. But they did it to protect her. They did it to make sure she could live her life and not be a target.

What Elise didn’t know was she had been a target. Sylla had sensed the fae part of her and decided to use her to take over Deam Lux, the light realm. Also called FaeLux, fairy light.

“Why are you here, your highnesses?” Morgan asks, not meeting either of their eyes. Elise and Erik’s shoulder slump. She is addressing them so formally.

“You can use our names, sweetheart. That goes for all of you!” Elise exclaims, trying to not cry. Her heart is breaking. Maybe they should have stayed in FaeLux.

“We wanted to meet our daughter, who is now Mother of her coven. Besides, a new name showed up on our family tree in the throne room. Mira Rose?” Erik says, his voice cracking. He is normally not one to show emotions and cry, but his daughter is standing a few feet from him, but has never felt so far away.

“You gave me up.” Morgan whispers, not answering the question. Elise sighs as tears streams down her cheeks.

“We had no choice, honey. You are going to be the next fae Queen, and Mother of the coven I moved from. That is two very powerful positions. You are a strong young woman, and I feared if we kept you in FaeLux, then someone would try to hurt you. But I couldn’t be away from my soul mate, and we agreed it was best for you to grow up not knowing your heritage.”

Morgan nodded, not totally convinced.

“Why don’t we talk in the pack house?” Brandon asks, smiling at his mate’s parents. They both look him over, from their joined hands to his protective stance a few inches in front of Morgan. Erik frowns, but Elise smiles big through her tears.

“That is a wonderful idea. We will follow you!”

They drove back to the house, and Morgan asked if someone would come with them. She didn’t know how she felt to be honest with her parents being in her home. Isadora and Sami volunteered, and followed them down to the conference room. They said something about Abby and Matt had to play host with the snobby alphas, and their mates would help them.

Benjamin and Daemon looked absolutely horrified, but couldn’t do anything than say “yes dear”, as the girls sauntered away.

Abby laughed herself silly, just as the guard from before mind-linked her and Matt, their first guest, were arriving. Both alphas hung their head and knew they were going to be in for it now, when Laurel and Kaiden appeared a second later. Laurel had a cheeky glint in her eyes.

“Alphas, if you will follow me. We need extra hands in the kitchen to prepare tonight’s dinner.” She was holding a clipboard, and her voice made no room for discussion.

“Laurel, the first guests are here. Do you have the room chart with you?” Abby asks before she leads the alphas away.

“Yes, it is right here. It also hangs on the walls on every floor in the house, and one here.” She points to a large house-plan hanging on the wall in the hall.
