Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 17

Blake

I followed Natalia out of her bedroom and downstairs to the dining room. We didn’t have much time if I wanted to make the scheduled meeting with two future allies from faraway packs.

I enjoyed teasing her and watching her face flush with embarrassment. It reminded me of when she was little, and I used to tease her like that. She would hide her face in my chest as those who watched us laughed at my jokes.

Too many years had passed, however. Natalia was a grown woman who no longer appreciated my jokes. She fought like a wild cat, demanding my respect. That was new, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy the latest version of my wife.

I knew she was angry with me, but I held her hand while descending the stairs. We shouldn’t allow anyone to see what was really between us.

She wasn’t watching, but I had my eyes on her. Without makeup, she was a natural beauty-I never expected her to turn out that hot. She was chubby as a teenager, and I always thought she would remain plump.

Distracted by her appearance, I barely heard her say that Drake was the rogue leader.

Aries heard what she said and growled in frustration, and that’s when it hit me. My brother was what?

That fu cker! I will tear him apart!

Natalia was anxious because I’d heard what she said. She pulled me closer and kissed me, running her fingers through my hair. I was furious about what she said, but why was she kissing me?

She deepened the k**s, confusing me even more. Her movement became more intense, and I reacted, venting all my frustration on her and her lips. I bit her lower l*p, and tasting her b***d, I invaded her mouth with my tongue, into a fight for dominance with hers.

I was punishing Natalia for our siblings’ betrayal, but it felt like I was having the best time of my life.

She whimpered in pain, which made me lift my head and look at her-she had tears in her eyes, but for some reason, she didn’t resist my attack on her lips.

I stopped breathing and watched the crystal liquid leave her eyes and wet her flushed cheeks. All the air left my lungs. Taking a deep breath to balance myself, I caressed her face and took her lips in mine. I kissed her softly, not hiding the emotions that had erupted in my heart from touching her again. I felt Natalia come closer to me, allowing me to k**s her. Surprisingly, she kissed me back, silent tears leaving her beautiful eyes again. My tongue pressed between her parted lips, caressing and licking the wound my teeth had caused her, trying to ease the pain she felt. Which heartbeat was louder, mine or hers? It all felt the same to me.

“Blake, please don’t say anything in front of our parents. Let’s talk about it in the car,” Natalia said, whispering.

Holding her hand, I nodded, dashing out of the house and into my black SUV, not caring about those left behind, not the teasing comments or laughter. I had to be alone with Natalia, and I needed to apologise for hurting her and then listen to her explanation.

“Now you remember that you acted like an a*s.hole? Good for you, macho man. Haven’t you realised that all Natalia was trying to do back there was to calm you down and prevent you from doing something stupid?”

My wolf’s reprimanding words made me realise the truth. Nat was indeed trying to help me. And I, like a jack.a*s, hurt her in the process.

“It’s good to know that your wolf has more brains than you, Blake,” Leia hissed, and I was utterly shocked when she continued, ‘can’t say I didn’t enjoy it, though!”

“Leia, what on earth are you telling him? Pull yourself together and stop embarrassing me,” was all that Natalia murmured before entering the passenger seat and closing the door. She put on her safety belt and looked out of the window.

We drove in silence and left the Moon Howlers pack behind us. I wanted to communicate with Aries, but Natalia’s wolf would hear our conversation, which would be awkward. I was eager to learn about Drake and the rogues, but I wanted us to calm down and forget the k**s that made us uncomfortable. I knew I had intentionally hurt her and felt like a jerk. While on the highway, I decided to start the conversation and kept a straight face, trying not to show how upset I was.

I kept my promise and said nothing in front of our parents. It’s time you informed me of what you heard back in the caves. Are you sure Drake is the rogue leader? How did you replace out?

She turned and faced me for the first time since we left her territory. She hesitated, probably worried about my reaction.

“I am calm, Natalia. I will deal with whatever you tell me, so shoot.” Again, with a poker face and indifference in my voice-Goddess, if only she knew how hard I tried to compose myself for her sake. I didn’t want to scare her; she’d had enough for one day, and I sure wasn’t the heartless bastard I wanted everyone to believe I was.

She lowered her head for a minute and then looked at me.

“While you fought the rogues, I stayed hidden behind the tree as you told me to. I watched as a large brown wolf left one of the caves, running in the opposite direction and trying to escape the scene. He was running fast, but not fast enough for Leia to miss his words.

Blake, Leia wants me to tell you that she will repeat Drake’s words for you, but please don’t be surprised when you hear her voice.”

She also seemed surprised by her wolf’s request, and I nodded in agreement.

“You won this time, Blake, but I’ll get you next time. That damn rogue must have told you about the attacks I planned. You can rest, for now, dear brother. I will not attack your pack tomorrow. Be prepared, however. Your dearest Drake will show up again, and nothing you can do can stop me from claiming what’s mine.”

Nothing prepared me for the sound of my brother’s voice after ten years and through Leia. I slammed on the brakes and stopped the car in the middle of the street. I could not foresee that Natalia would bash her forehead on the windshield-she’d had her head lowered and did not predict my abrupt movement.

I couldn’t prevent it. I heard the noise and turned toward my wife. She had hit her head hard, breaking the windshield, and two large glass fragments were stuck in her forehead. She lay back on her seat, her eyes closed, unconscious.

“f**k! f**k! f**k!” I growled, jumped out of the car, and rushed to her side. Opening the door, I removed her seat belt and, taking her in my arms, carried her out of the car.

I placed her by the side of the road and softly removed the sticky, bloody hair from her face, tracing the skin the glass fragments had pierced.

“Natalia, can you hear me? Please open your eyes, Nat. Come on, kiddo, don’t scare me. For fuc. k’s sake, Leia, if you are listening, please do something. I can’t see her like that.” My voice trembled with fear. What had I done to her?

“I knew you were a handsome jerk, but you have proven to be an i***t, too. How could you make such a hasty move without thinking about Natalia sitting right next to you? She passed out from the blow to her head. Give her time to recover and remove those pieces of glass from her forehead. Try to clean the wound, and I will do my best to heal it without leaving any scars.”

Leia’s voice was harsh, not giving me a chance to explain-I was so shocked to hear my brother’s voice, and I never thought my reaction would harm Nat.

I lay Natalia carefully on the ground and got the water bottle I always kept in my car. Taking my t-shirt off, I used it with trembling hands to clean the b***d off my wife’s face after I removed the glass from her forehead.

“Leia, don’t be too hard on him. He went through hell when his brother betrayed him back then; I was not surprised by his reaction. Please, help him deal with Natalia’s wound without stressing him further. He is scared to death right now.”

If it were any other time, I would swear at Aries for revealing my true feelings to Leia. But I wanted Natalia to wake up and be okay, nothing else.

“Nat, can you hear me? Come on, babe, open your eyes, please. Let me see if you are okay,” I caressed her face and whispered, holding her in my arms.

“Inpatient man, wait!” Leia interrupted me, annoyance in her voice. I sat on the ground, holding Nat in my arms. A golden light brightened her face, and I watched in awe as the gap in her forehead shrunk until nothing was left. The only evidence of the wound on her head was the b***d on her clothes and my wet t-shirt.

“Leia, what the… Are you a healing wolf? What else is there that we don’t know about you?” Aries was as surprised as I was, but Leia’s reply didn’t give us any room to continue questioning her.

“Not even Natalia knows my abilities yet-you have to wait until she wakes up. But before she does, let me tell you that you are an ignorant a*s.hole, Blake, and if you don’t treasure her and me the way you should, you will regret it soon enough. And I am not threatening you-I am simply warning you.”

Aries growled in response, not happy with Leia’s tone – he didn’t like how she spoke, but we both knew that Leia was right. He was my other half and had once been rejected by our mate, and he had warned me that she would leave us if I didn’t treat Natalia right. He was firm when he clarified that he wouldn’t allow me to ruin his life and mine by stubbornly marrying Natalia and seeking revenge by punishing and humiliating her for our siblings’ mistakes. And now Leia confirmed his assumptions.

“That’s enough. Leia has a point. Let’s focus on Natalia’s recovery. She is my main concern; we can discuss everything else later when she’s conscious.”

Both wolves stopped at the sound of my voice. With Natalia in one arm, I tried to wash her face with water with my other hand. I couldn’t resist placing a soft k**s on her forehead; she finally opened her eyes and heard me apologise.

“I am so sorry, babe; I never meant to hurt you that way. I f****d up big time, Nat. How can I make you forgive me?”

“Blake? Where are we? Why are you holding me like that?” Her voice came out like a whisper, and she looked confused.

She tried to sit up and realised that she was sitting on my lap, and I had my arm wrapped around her. Natalia immediately blushed and tried to pull away, but I kept her in my arms.

“Don’t move. When I hit the brakes, you hit your head on the windshield. We must be careful until the doctor checks you out, although Leia did a good job healing you. Let me carry you to the car, Nat.”

I stood up, holding her in my arms, and she wrapped her delicate arms around my neck for support, hiding her face in my bare chest. She seemed embarrassed to be held tightly against my naked torso. I tried hard to ignore the waves of heat that made me want to do sinful things to her on the spot and carefully placed her on the passenger seat. Fastening her seat belt, I rushed to the back of the car and grabbed a sleeveless t-shirt I kept in case of an emergency. And this was one of those times.

If my wounded wife kept staring at my naked body the way she was, all confused and turned on, I could smell her arousal. I would forget she was injured and not be responsible for my actions.

I took my time to calm down and got back into the driver’s seat. Neither of us spoke, but I kept looking at her and her wound until we reached the Dark Moon Stone pack.

I parked outside of the packhouse, and Jacob rushed to my side. I had asked him to call the pack doctor and inform him of Natalia’s injury beforehand. Stepping out of the car, I walked to Natalia’s side-she had fallen asleep, and I linked Jacob to be quiet. Trying not to wake her, I picked her up bridal style, and we entered my house.

Going up the stairs slowly, I found my room and entered without switching on the lights, ready to place my wife on the bed and wait for the doctor, Timothy’s, arrival. He was my most trusted doctor and one of my best friends.

A sweet scent filled my nostrils, and it took me a while to realise what was happening. Gently placing Natalia on the right side of the bed, I turned on the lamp, and I was surprised to see Emma, the young doctor I’d had a few nights of no-strings-attached passion with, lying on my side of the bed, only wearing her panties.

“What the hell are you doing here, Emma? Who let you into my room?” I growled in frustration, and she flinched at my harsh tone.

“I… I was waiting for you, Blake. Dr Timothy said he would come to see you about an injury, and I offered to come instead. I only wanted to surprise you. But wait! Who is she, Blake?” she pointed at my sleeping wife, her eyes popping out and an ugly expression on her face.

Her high-pitched voice startled Natalia. She opened her eyes and looked around, confused.

“Blake, what is this?” she questioned,

“She is my wife, which means your LUNA, and you had better get out of my room right now!” I growled at Emma and received the same answer from both women.

“What?”

“Oh, boy, we are screwed, Blake,” Aries whimpered in my head, and I couldn’t agree more, watching my wife’s lethal glare fix onto my ex-mistress. Because after seeing Natalia and marrying her, Emma became my ex-mistress in a flash.

“Explain that to our wife, you jerk,” Aries yelled, and I watched Natalia smile wickedly at Emma and me.

“Care to explain, sweetheart?” Her sweet tone contrasted with her icy blue eyes as she took in Emma’s almost naked body on my bed, making her flinch, grab her clothes from the sofa and run to the bathroom to get dressed.

“Well?” she asked, and I gulped in reply.

Fuc.k, was all I thought, and I smiled awkwardly, running my hand through my messy hair in distress.
