Luna's Rejected Vengeful Mate
Luna’s Rejected Vengeful Mate Chapter 58

The Dark Moon pack

Natalia

I was talking to Fabrizio, waiting for Blake’s return when the scent of rain forest hit my nostrils and Leia went crazy inside my head calling her mate. What the… Blake’s scent was that of pinewood, not rainforest.

I didn’t even have the time to ask Leia what that was all about when a loud growl echoed across the room and someone called out mate, too. I turned to where the growl came from and watched, in horror as the man holding Elisa’s hand stared fiercely at me and I couldn’t stop Leia when she called him her mate. Holy s**t! That was Massimo, Elisa’s love. He had been holding her hand, and he was my mate! My destined mate.

No! I watched with terror as Lisa paled and started shaking. I didn’t get the chance to go over to her because a louder growl had me frozen and Blake rushed forward punching Massimo and throwing him to the floor.

“She is MINE,” he growled and walked closer to Massimo, ready to punch him again.

“I guess my great-grandmother is in the mood to play again,” Dylan said and jumped between Blake and Massimo separating them.

“Mate!” Leia growled again and my heart stopped. I watched Blake looking my way, his eyes full of tears and I couldn’t stop mine from running down my eyes. What a mess!

“Leia control, yourself, for f**k’s sake. Don’t make things worse. Lisa is about to faint and I think I am losing my mind,” I barked at my wolf and blocked her. I needed to stay strong and keep a rational mind for what was about to follow. I was pregnant with Blake’s baby and my mate was Massimo. s**t!

I watched as Massimo’s eyes changed colour and I knew he was trying to control his wolf. He was still on the floor, holding his jaw. His eyes were on me. He looked confused and hurt.

Lisa’s low whimper brought him back to reality. Forgetting that Blake stood over him he got up from the floor and rushed to her side.

“Lisa, I…” he tried to explain but Lisa left the room in tears, holding her swollen tummy.

“I will look after her until you clear up the mess you made,” Fabrizio said coldly and left the room.

“Wolves,” we heard him say. “Bullshit,” he continued angrily.

Blake escaped Dylan’s hold and came rushing my way. He held me tight in his arms and I hid my face in his broad chest trying to hide my tears.

“Blake it’s not me, it’s Leia” I whispered and he held me tighter and soothed me. Caressing my hair he spoke firmly.

“We will sort this out, Natalia. The is no way I am losing you to Massimo,” and he growled loudly when Massimo walked our way. I couldn’t see him, but I could sense his every move. The air around me felt suffocating. His scent was so strong and attractive to me and my body ached with the desire to touch him.

I was so in love with Blake but I found it hard to resist the bond between Massimo and me. Even with Lea blocked, the burning desire to feel Massimo closer to me filled me with guilt.

“Stay the hell away from her,” Blake snarled at Massimo, feeling my uneasiness. How humiliating! My husband tried to keep my mate away from me, knowing how I felt.

“Blake I didn’t know…” Massimo said but Blake growled louder.

“This isn’t getting us anywhere,” Dylan interfered and all three of us looked his way, confused.

“What? If anyone knows the Moon Goddess’s tricks, it’s me, Blake, and you know it. My great-grandmother likes to mess with people and always for a reason.”

“What do you mean, Dylan? There’s no way I will accept this bond. Natalia is MINE,” Blake barked and Massimo growled, his canines surfacing. His wolf had taken over again.

“In your dreams, mutt.” he took a step forward ready to attack and Dylan got in the way while my husband and my mate growled at each other, but Blake managed to punch Massimo again.

“Stop hurting my mate,” Leia stepped forward and growled at Blake.

He turned my way and I looked at him with terror in my eyes.

“What?” his voice was dangerously low. My husband was ready to explode and my wolf wasn’t making things easier on him.

“f**k, Leia, I told you to stay low. Don’t make things worse,” I barked at my wolf, not caring that I had spoken out loud. It took a lot of effort to block my wolf again. She resisted, making things difficult for me.

A sudden pain made me hold my bump and whimper. Blake turned my way and paled.

“Baby?” he rushed to me and helped me to the sofa.

“Don’t touch her,” Massimo’s wolf lashed out at my husband, which was my final straw for the day.

Forgetting all about the pain I had felt before, I left my seat and stood up.

“That’s enough. I am out of here,” I yelled, leaving everyone but Dylan dumbfounded.

“Nat…” Blake said, but I cut him off.

“This is crazy, Blake, plain madness. There is no way I am staying here any longer. I need to get out and clear my thoughts,” I announced and Blake tried to stop me. So did Massimo.

“Stay out of my way. Both of you,” I snarled, and they froze.

“I am going with you.” Lisa’s determined voice made me turn her way. She had already packed her clothes and stood at the living room entrance, avoiding eye contact with Massimo.

I locked eyes with my friend and nodded, and then left the dining room in a rush.

When I entered our bedroom, I closed the door behind me, allowing all my stress to surface. I picked up some random clothes, wiping the tears from my eyes. Why now, when Blake and I had cleared all the misunderstandings between us?

“I am sorry, Natalia. I can’t resist the bond between Onyx and me,” Leia whined in my head and I countered my wolf.

“What the hell is wrong with you, Leia? I know Massimo turned out to be our mate but what about Blake? What about our baby? When you asked Blake not to touch our mate, did you stop to think about our pup? Have you thought about Blake’s feelings?” I attacked.

My wolf whimpered at the sound of Aries’s name. I could sense her guilt and uneasiness. She knew she was wrong but I could understand why she had reacted that way. Hell, I was human and couldn’t be in the same room with Massimo because of our bond.

“Nat, what are we going to do?” Leia sounded desperate.

“We need to calm down, Leia. We should leave the pack and clear our thoughts. Plus, we need to support Lisa. Have you realised how much the outcome of what happened has affected Lisa? She will have her baby soon. And her baby’s father is our mate!” I told my wolf.

“Yes, you are right, Nat. To be on the safe side, please put your walls up before we leave this room and don’t let me close to Massimo’s wolf,” Leia begged.

I did as my wolf asked and returned to the living room with my suitcase. I knew my face revealed that I had been crying, but it was the least of my concerns. Elisa was waiting for me, not moving from where I had left her.

Ignoring Blake and Massimo on purpose, I asked Dylan if he could give us a ride.

Dylan looked at my husband and he nodded to him.

Taking his keys from the table he came over, smiling at me reassuringly.

“Let’s go,” he said.

“Where are you going, Nat?”Blake came my way but I stooped him again.

“I will call Drake and ask him to prepare a room for Lisa and me. I need time, Blake. This whole mess is too much for me,” I told my husband.

“Natalia, isn’t that too dangerous? You are going into the wolf’s den and you are too upset to think clearly,” Blake tried to persuade me and so did Fabrizio. I ignored Blake and turned to Fabrizio.

“Uncle, you’d better stay here. I don’t want to risk Teresa seeing you. She doesn’t know me or Elisa.”

“Teresa?” Elisa asked.

“I will explain later, Liz. After we sort out this mess,” I told my friend and headed to the exit as Dylan and Lisa followed.

While waiting for Dylan to bring his car nearer, I saw Emma passing by. She had just finished her shift and was heading towards her house.

“Luna,” she greeted and I gave her a deadly stare. She was the last person I wanted to see at that moment. We still had a plan though, and her seeing me leaving the pack was not a bad thing.

When Dylan arrived he helped us load the suitcases and we left the pack. I glanced at Emma through the rear-view mirror and saw her talking on the phone. I smirked. Even in a situation like that, our plan worked as we hoped it would. I had to remember to tell Blake about it.

I picked up the phone and called Drake. He was working at the reception.

“Natalia?” He sounded confused.

“Drake, I need you to prepare a room for me and Elisa. We will stay there for a week or more. If it’s possible let it be close to yours” I told him and waited for his reply.

Drake cleared his voice and whispered, “Natalia is anything wrong? How come your friend is coming with you?”

“I have no time to explain, Drake. Did you replace a room?” I replied.

“Yes, there is one next to us. I will book it now,” Drake replied.

“Good. Make sure Teresa is not around when we come and use two fake names, will you? Just in case,” I suggested and ended the call.

“Natalia, is there anything else I can do for you?” Dylan asked while driving and I thanked him.

“What can I say, Dylan? You saw the mess we created for yourself,” I replied squeezing Elisa’s hand, who was silent and looking out of the window.

“It’s not your mess, Natalia. My dear great-grandmother created this mess. I wish I could tell you why she did that, but she is unpredictable,” Dylan replied.

We arrived at the motel and Dylan helped us with our luggage. When Drake saw us enter, he led us to the room he had prepared without delay. Dylan followed us and, after leaving the luggage in the room, turned to leave.

“f**k. The vials,” he said.

“The vials?” I asked, confused.

Dylan turned to me.

“Natalia, I forgot something very important. I need to make an urgent call,” he said and left the room in a hurry, saying his goodbyes.

“And now it’s just the two of us, Liz,” I told my friend, taking her hand and helping her to take a seat on the bed.

“I am all ears,” Elisa said and her eyes glittered with unshed tears.

“How could this happen, Nat? one minute I had Massimo telling me how much he loved me, asking me to give him a second chance, and the next minute he was all over you, claiming you as his mate. That’s crazy,” Lisa said in a trembling voice.

I had a lot to explain, but first I needed to apologise for how Leia behaved when she met Massimo.

The way Lisa looked at me, I knew she would not accept my apology so easily.

Here we go, I thought and breathed deeply before I said anything.
