Lycanthropy -
Chapter Thirteen
My father was touching my shoulder, and I linked Terrence to grab a hold of him. Discretely forcing him to step back, as I don’t want everyone in the room to notice our little display of power.
“You are going to tell me, why you wanted my mother dead, and you are going to do that now!” I said to my father's Alpha, with a slow whisper, without ever blinking my eyes.
I twisted my claw, so that the puncture wounds would create a circle of slices on his chest. He grunted in pain, but still didn’t act upon it. He didn’t want to show me, but he was terrified as hell.
“She was an abomination! Such as yourself! Look at your hands! I would never acknowledge you as a true wolf!” He said.
I was surprised at his comment. I’m more of a wolf than he will ever be! This pathetic man, who was reluctantly submitting himself to me, isn’t worth my wrath! I didn’t want to kill him, as I would have an even more pathetic pack to lead. With six packs already within my power, I’m busy enough! I don’t need another pack, who didn’t even reject their Alpha for letting his Beta, kill his mate.
“Honey please! I don’t want you to get hurt! Let him go!” My father pleaded.
“Yes, well that worked out pretty well, when you sold me off to a torturing monster!” I yelled to him.
I turned my back towards my the Alpha again, without fearing he would attack me, and stepped towards my father.
The man, who I had trusted, before he killed my mother, then who I had become fearful off, when I was just a little girl, stood now in front of me, cowering underneath my power. I was no longer afraid, I was no longer that little girl, that he had left behind.
From the balcony across the room, a few minutes earlier:
The moment that woman stepped into the ball room, I could smell fear radiating from all of the people present. They all know that she is the Alpha, who had taken over five other packs, with ease. They were all aware, that with one simply made error, she could make an end to their lives, within mere seconds.
I stood far away from her, looking down from the balcony, to see what she was up to.
But all she did, was walk up to the bar and ordered drinks together with that touchy Beta of hers. My wolf growled on the inside, he didn’t like to see some other man touching her. He had slid his hand on the small of her back, rubbing her skin between the silky black satin, that was draped around her. She on her turn, didn’t do anything against it, she actually even smiled to him!
I don’t know what kind of relationship she had with him, but it was getting on my wolf’s nerves.
“Would you calm down! She is not even our mate!” I yelled to him.
He whined and wanted to argue with me over that fact, but I was solid in my decision. She is not our mate. Period.
Luckily, my wolf calmed down again, as he saw that the Beta had released her back, and was facing some other male wolves now. They were insulting each other, and when the other male wanted to hit her Beta, she stepped in front of him. She received his fist on her cheek, without flinching at all!
She growled and my wolf growled with her.
Her Beta however, took the lead in talking, as she clearly didn’t want to intervene with showing his power towards the men. She just didn’t want him to get hit, being the protective Alpha that she is. Upon growling once more, she had made the stupid Delta, run off with his broken hand.
I was happy that this didn’t escalate any further. If she got enraged even more, she could kill all of the people inside this room. As I turned around and wanted to go downstairs, I heard some new ruckus. Not much, just a tad of power display, between two Alpha’s.
I turned around again, to see what was happening now. And to my surprise, it was her again! Again she had picked a fight, with another male, an Alpha this time!
Fuck! If he would engage on her, he would be dead too, and she would have another pack to take care of! I can’t let that happen, as she is the most powerful Alpha on our continent already! Besides me that is.
I had stepped into the room, while I said to my guard to not announce my entry. All the people were dancing happily, and I didn’t want to distract the female Alpha from her conversation. I wanted to genuinely see her character, without her knowing that the King had entered the room.
She had dragged a man, other than the Alpha she was talking to, outside of the room, into the hallway. And I followed her.
“I had to do it! You are a beast, other than a wolf!” The man, who was being strangled by her against the wall, tried to tell her.
I wanted to listen in on their talking, but the closer I got, the more my wolf got jumping in my head. Her body distracted my rational thinking as the naked skin, that was seen between the black satin sashes, were drawing my eyes in.
She was not wearing a dress, just like any other unmated wolf in the room. No, she was wearing something different, something that suited her and accented the strong features of her body.
I don’t know the name of such a piece of clothing, where the pants, with wide flowy legs, was attached to the top part of it. But the top of it, was just barely covering her breasts, as two pieces of satin, went up from the waist, and then gathered again behind her neck. The satin sashes, were tied up there with a knot, and then the left-over black satin flowed freely on her naked back.
Her long, almost white hair, was braided into a tail that nearly reached the lowest area of her back. The muscles on her arms, chest and back, clearly visible to each gazing set of eyes, made her the centrepiece of attention, even though she wasn’t completely aware of it. No one was watching her fully, everyone only glanced their eyes to her, for just a second, every now and then.
“What do you mean?” She asked the man, as she strangled him against the wall in the halls.
I was standing in the doorway, only able to hear her talk, not being able to see her.
“You’re a monster!” He yelled and I heard a growl erupt from her throat.
People behind me, in the ball room, became quiet upon hearing it. We are all werewolves and have exceptional hearing, so they heard this too.
I made my guards close the door and walked into the hallway myself.
My wolf was howling upon seeing her again. She was seething with anger, small dots of white fur sprouting out of the back of her body, completely contrasting against the black satin of her outfit.
Her claws stretched and punctured the man’s neck, her canines elongated and went up to reach for his jugular. She was going to kill this man, right here, in my hallway! I couldn’t let this happen, as the paperwork and explanation towards my guests, was going to be excruciating. Besides that, if I would let her do that, then no one would feel safe anymore, as their King let someone get murdered within his own house.
“Stop!” I yelled to her.
She was surprised to see me at first, but then a smile came upon her face.
“Oh, look who finally stepped into the hallway. Were you tired of gazing upon me, from above that balcony?” She asked me with a smirk.
Well that was one time only, that I had underestimated her. She had been completely aware of my presence, from the moment that she stepped inside of my home. But I wasn’t one to faze that easily.
“Yes, seeing you fight off every male that went for you, I was wondering what this one had, for you to be interested in.” I said casually, while leaning against the wall with one of my shoulders.
“And what would make you think, that you can stop me into doing whatever I want with this one?” She said while her claws were still around the man’s neck.
He looked surprised to see her act that way, he wanted to alert her who I was, but when he tried to speak, she just tightened her grip even further.
“Nothing, you can kill him for all I care, yet if you hurt him, you won’t come to know what you are. Just saying.” I bluffed, and turned around to walk away.
I could hear her growl softly, she was thinking about what I had said.
“So, you won’t stop me?” She asked.
“Nope, but the King’s guards will. They are aware of your presence and your power. They have guns filled with wolfsbane and silver at the ready, if a murder takes place in here.” I truthfully said, while still walking away from her.
