Chapter 138 A Conspiracy Behind It

She stood up and looked at Julian, saying, "Mr. Quinn, I still have something to do, so I'll take my leave."

Julian nodded.

Anastasia turned and looked at Molly with a smile.

"Ms. Stone, don't arrange a meeting with Amanda's agent on my behalf next time. Remember, I always contact her directly."

Molly stared at her with anger.

Anastasia left with a deepening smile and shook her head.

What a shallow person!

Molly and Walter left together, and Molly complained.

"Mr. Quinn doesn't even consider you important, and Anastasia doesn't either. They are in charge but wouldn't help. What can we do?"

A trace of coldness flickered in Walter's eyes as he snorted.

"Don't worry. I know how to handle someone like her."

In the evening, Kevin entered with an invitation card.

"This was sent by Mr. Parker. It says it's a special banquet to apologize for what happened before."

"A banquet? There must be a conspiracy behind it."

Anastasia sneered. She wasn't a fool. "I'm not going."

Kevin paused for a moment. "The project for that web series has been canceled. Mr. Quinn says this is an olive branch. We're all in the same company, so let's not make a big deal out of it. Mr. Quinn will also be attending the banquet. It would be good for you to show up as well."

Anastasia frowned. Would Walter give up so easily?

Why did she feel that something was not right?

But since Julian said so, she would just show up and leave.

"Fine, I'll go, but just to make an appearance and then leave."

Kevin nodded and went to reply.

At night, Anastasia arrived at the designated private room in the clubhouse.

She pushed open the door and looked at the people inside. She paused when she realized Julian was not there.

Walter had already waved to her, enthusiastically smiling and beckoning.

"Ms. Graves, come quickly! Mr. Quinn is on his way. He'll be here soon."

Anastasia hesitated for a few seconds before walking in.

Inside, the atmosphere was simple and harmonious, with a faint scent of jasmine.

Molly stood up to offer her a seat and pour drinks, becoming much more humble than before.

"Ms. Graves, I was too immature in the afternoon. I didn't consider everything thoroughly and even wanted to let an international heavyweight star participate in such a play. I have already withdrawn it, and I hope you won't blame me, Ms. Graves."

Anastasia smiled forcefully. "Ms. Stone, it's all for the sake of our company."

Just as she took out her phone, Molly handed over a cup of drinks.

"To apologize, Ms. Graves."

Anastasia smiled, and her guard didn't drop.

"I'm not thirsty. Let's wait until Mr. Quinn arrives."

Walter laughed. "You don't trust us, do you? Suspecting that we would drug you? In a society ruled by law, how could we do such a despicable thing!"

As he spoke, he took the cup from Molly's hand and downed it in one gulp.

Anastasia breathed a sigh of relief and smiled as she spoke, "Mr. Parker, you're just joking. I'm just not thirsty. Why would I suspect you?"

She looked at her phone and saw a message from Julian.

[Traffic jam. I'll be late.]

She felt relieved deep down.

But suddenly, she felt that the fragrance in the room was too strong and uncomfortable.

She wanted to stand up and ask the waiter to change the scent.

But as soon as she stood up, she felt a wave of dizziness.

She quickly grabbed onto the table. With a pale face, she looked at the two people sitting there with malicious smiles.

Her heart sank as she understood something.

The problem wasn't the drinks. It was the fragrance in the room!

She gritted her teeth and turned around to leave.

But Molly reached out and stopped her. "Where are you going, Ms. Graves? Aren't you supposed to wait for Mr. Quinn? He'll be here soon!"

She even had an innocent smile on her face.
