Madeline Crawford and Jeremy Whitman -
Chapter 2045
"Actually, I didn't want to be your friend after that, and I didn't want to have any contact with Jeremy." Fabian told her the truth.
This shocked Madeline.
It seemed that Fabian had rejected them at the beginning.
"But why did you still keep in contact with us after that?" Madeline asked.
Unhesitatingly, Fabian answered, "It's because of one person."
Madeline quickly remembered that pure and adorable face. "Because of Lily?"
Fabian smiled and nodded. "Lily is such a delightful child."
Madeline smiled upon hearing that, but after that, she felt her heart aching.
"Unfortunately, my precious daughter always gets into some horrible situations."
"But I still believe no matter what trouble she'd face, Lily could always replace a way to safety. " Fabian was very confident.
Madeline felt the same way, and she hoped so too.
"Perhaps, inexorably, you and Lily are connected by fate. Otherwise, what are the odds for your bone marrow matching Lily's?"
Fabian did not deny it. In fact, he agreed. "I think so too."
He smiled and something profound was glistening in his eyes.
He always believed that he and Lillian had some extraordinary fate.
At the present, they had some hindrance between them.
Madeline and Fabian sat down to enjoy their fragrant coffee. As they looked at the gentle morning light illuminating the bustling street, the tense emotions they had all this time finally relaxed at this moment. Approximately half an hour later, Fabian received a call from Evan.
However, judging from Fabian's frown, Madeline felt that this was not good news.
After a while, Fabian hung up.
Madeline asked hurriedly. "What is it? What did Evan say?"
Fabian looked at Madeline. He wanted to say something, but he paused for two seconds before speaking.
"Evan is coming right now. We'll go into details when he's here."
When Fabian said this, Madeline knew this was not as simple as it seemed.
She and Fabian drank their coffees, but when the coffee entered their mouths, all they could taste was bitterness.
About half an hour later, Evan arrived hurriedly.
Although he had asked the staff to make him an iced Americano on this winter day, when he drank the cold and bitter coffee, he looked as if he was drinking plain water, drinking half of the glass in a moment. "Evan, how did the discussion with your father go?" Madeline asked anxiously.
Evan shrugged helplessly. "My father's schedule is too full, so he really can't make time to treat Carter's friend."
Evan leaned against the sofa helplessly. "It's not that he doesn't want to help, but every patient on his schedule needs his help.”
He was right. They could not cut the queue in this kind of thing.
"If we don't arrange something for Carter, something bad might happen to Lily." Lillian was always in Fabian's heart. "But you should know that Lily's in her recovery period. If something were to happen to her during this time, the damage could be so severe to her body that it will never recover."
