Chapter 2318

Ava laughed self-deprecatingly again, tears slipping silently from the corners of her eyes. Madeline looked very distressed. She wanted to comfort Ava, but then she heard Ava sarcastically saying, "My parents are both so capable. How great of them! But I can't even see my boyfriend. It's ridiculous, so ridiculous..."

While talking, Ava picked up the glass again and wanted to drink.

Madeline hurriedly reached out her hand to stop her. "Ava, stop drinking. Drinking too much will hurt your health."

"But I'm so sad now..." Ava cried out, "Maddie, have a drink with me. I want to forget those unhappy things for a while."

After hearing what Ava said, Madeline's heart ached. Then, she slowly let go.

Sometimes, drinking was not necessarily a bad thing. At least, it could make people forget all their troubles temporarily. It was not a bad thing. She had stopped breastfeeding her son, so Madeline raised the glass with confidence.

Just before drinking, she messaged Jeremy.

Ava was in a very bad mood and Madeline did not want her to drink too much. She was worried that Ava would hurt her body if she drank too much, but Ava was stubborn and pushed Madeline away. She refused to stop and downed drink after drink. It did not take long for Ava to fall into a drunken stupor. She was leaning on Madeline's shoulder while babbling drunkenly.

Madeline patted Ava's shoulder distressedly. "Stop crying. It'll all pass. Dan will recover and he'll remember you. You have to believe that your parents love you. Maybe they left you back then because they had some difficulties that couldn't be easily solved."

Ava seemed to hear what Madeline said and mumbled, "Danny... Danny will be alright. My parents. My parents... I don't have parents."

After Ava finished saying this, she fell onto Madeline's shoulder dazedly and fell asleep. Madeline felt more and more distressed for Ava. "You dummy, of course, you have parents. I believe they love you. Give yourself a little more time, okay?"

Madeline said softly while stroking Ava's hot and rosy cheeks.

"Linnie."

Jeremy's concerned voice came from beside her ears.

Madeline lifted her head to meet Jeremy's deep gaze.

"Ava is drunk. Let's have her sleep at our place tonight."

"Why did she drink so much? You drank a lot too, right?" Jeremy looked at the bottles and cans on the table before helping Madeline support Ava.

"I didn't drink much. Ava drank most of it. I couldn't stop her." Madeline sighed helplessly. She and Jeremy worked together to help Ava into the car.

Before drinking, Madeline sent a message to Jeremy, asking him to take a taxi over here so he could drive her car home.

Ava was exhausted and woke up from a hangover with a particularly bad headache.

She glanced at the surrounding environment and found that it was a little foreign. After taking a closer look, she finally determined that this was Old Whitman Manor. Knock, knock, knock.

There was a knock on the door.

Ava figured it was Madeline, and sure enough, the door was opened gently in the next second.

"Ava, you finally woke up." Madeline handed over a set of clean clothes to Ava. "Do you have a headache? Do you want to take a shower first? I made some chicken soup to help with your hangover. You can drink it after you shower."

Ava raised her hand and patted her head. It really hurt.

"Hiss..." Ava frowned and suddenly thought of something. "Maddie, what time is it?" +
