Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) -
Chapter 2287 Saying Their Goodbyes
The night passed quietly.
The courtyard was already bustling early the next morning.
After Matthew finished washing up and walked out of the room, he saw most of the disciples from the hidden sects had already packed up their belongings, ready to return to their sect.
"Matthew, we are leaving now. Take care, and we wish you good results in the re-election of the Martial League."
Matthew couldn't help but smile and shook his head. "Alright, stop joking. Have a safe journey, and we'll see each other again next fall."
As he waved his hand, someone suddenly shouted from the crowd. "Roland, you promised to give me the herbs you promised. Remember to have someone send them to me."
"And mine too, Roland. Don't forget my Echinacea plant."
"Me three. You promised me some of the exquisite tea flowers you have treasured. I will personally come to collect them."
After everyone listed various medicinal materials, Roland was completely confused. "What's going on? When did I say I would give you guys these things?"
One should know that everything they mentioned was his grandfather's treasure. Kenneth would throw a fit if he were to give any of them away. But just as Roland was feeling puzzled, everyone took out pieces of paper with written promises of herbs, each signed by Roland with a big handprint.
What's this? Did I do this while drunk? With that thought in mind, Roland felt something terrible was going to happen. However, upon closer inspection, he was pleasantly surprised because the papers did not specify the exact time of delivery.
Thank goodness, there is still room for maneuver. "Don't worry. I will fulfill what I promised you. Once I have everything prepared, I will personally deliver them to you individually."
As for when they would be ready, it was up to him to decide.
Everyone's faces were filled with joy when they heard this. Who would turn down free precious herbs?
"Thank you, Roland. Well, goodbye, everyone, and take care!"
Once they were done fooling around, it was time to say goodbye. As the figures left one by one, only Roland, Easton, and Lola remained.
A while later, Helen came out of the room all dressed up, obviously having an important appointment.
"Matthew, come with me."
Before Matthew could reply, Helen grabbed him and Sasha before walking straight out of the courtyard.
"What's going on with Mom? She's dressed so formally!"
While walking behind his parents-in-law, Matthew whispered to Sasha, who shook her head in confusion. "I don't know. My dad said they're going to meet their old friends from Bainbridge."
With that said, Matthew immediately got the gist of the situation. Helen wanted to bring him along to show him off. It was said that once someone became a parent, their children would become the main object of comparison.
When the family arrived at their reserved private room in the restaurant, they heard someone speaking from inside before even entering the room.
"Mom, what's the matter? There's still a lot of work to be done at the hospital. I might get points deducted from my probation evaluation if you suddenly call me away like this."
While the young man was complaining, Matthew and his group opened the door and entered.
The noblewoman in front of the round table immediately stood up. "Helen, I was worried sick about you. We rarely contacted each other after I married and moved to Bainbridge."
While the noblewoman spoke, she quickly approached Helen and immediately held her hand without saying a word. However, her gaze would unintentionally move onto Matthew, Sasha, and James behind her.
With just a glance, a hint of satisfaction flashed in her eyes. "Come. Please take a seat. Helen, Themania Restaurant is the most popular restaurant in Bainbridge, and we probably wouldn't have been able to make a reservation if it weren't for our family's connections! Of course, the dishes here are the best in Bainbridge. We must enjoy them today."
