Jamie was able to decline payment eventually after some deliberation. He did so by telling Matthew that President Clifford would terminate his employment if he were to accept any payment for the villa. With that, he successfully thwarted Matthew's plan to purchase the villa with his own funds.

"Well, I won't continue to put you in a difficult position if that's the case. Here, this is a bottle of elixir which is great for health. Please deliver it to Uncle Eugene as a little something from me."

Eugene had been busy sorting out the company internally recently.

He must have been in an agitated mood constantly.

The elixir would do wonders for him since he was a heavy smoker and drinker.

Although the elixir was not as valuable as the villa, it was the perfect remedy for him.

The two of them visited Automobile City once again after the villa deal was sorted out.

Matthew chose two Mercedes-Benz that offered both a great driving experience and passenger comfort after careful consideration.

Matthew didn't see Sasha and her parents when he returned to the shop.

The busy employees were the only ones present, indicating that they hadn't returned home.

He seized the opportunity by devoting himself to practicing martial arts and medical skills.

However, his wife and her family still hadn't returned even until the evening approached.

One of Leanna's subordinates paid him a visit and delivered him a document, and he carefully studied it after returning to his room.

The Cunningham Family of Bainbridge was recognized as one of the top ten families in Cathay, even though their business ventures were not that widespread compared to the others. Their primary focus remained in the fields of medicine and food and beverages.

However, intense competition had taken a toll on the Cunningham Family in recent years.

Their presence in the market was gradually shrinking, and many of their businesses and stores were facing imminent closure.

Their decades-old commercial empire could potentially be destroyed at a moment's notice if a solution was not found soon. Matthew had a suspicion after perusing the document.

He patiently waited until the evening when the moon was reflecting brightly before Sasha and her parents returned home. James greeted Matthew with a broad smile when he returned, revealing his perfectly white teeth.

"I am thrilled, Matthew!"

However, James' overwhelming breath full of alcohol made Matthew feel dizzy as he approached.

James was completely unaware of that, and he casually placed his hand on Matthew's shoulder.

"Let me tell you something, Matthew. Finally, I can breathe a sigh of relief. From now on, just let me know should you encounter any difficulties in the future. We'll handle them together. Burp!"

He let out a resounding belch after he finished speaking, and the overwhelming stench of alcohol instantly filled the entire room.

Helen immediately pulled her husband aside with an expression of disgust when she saw that.

"Please don't mind him, Matthew. This is what happens when he drinks too much. But, what a day it has been for James today. It won't be long before we head to Bainbridge and participate in the Bainbridge Cunningham Family reunion ceremony."

Helen's delight was evident on her face as she spoke.

"You really should go and take a look at the new villa, Matthew. It's the first time I've seen such a luxurious villa after living for so long."

James added in a drunken tone, "Don't worry, we'll move in tomorrow, and I'll give you a proper tour."

Matthew didn't want to dampen their spirits when he noticed the elderly couple's excitement, so he casually asked, "But they've been so generous to us, James, Helen. They gave us a nice villa and a car. Shouldn't we give them a proper gift in return?"

James' emotions suddenly became heightened when he heard that.

"How could we not? I shall give them the secret recipe for the dietary porridge in our shop."

It was just as Matthew had thought. Everything became clear at that instant.

"Don't you think Yann might be trying to get the secret recipe from us, James, Helen?"

James' excited mood instantly turned into discontent when he heard Matthew's speculation.

Thankfully, he had sobered up a bit from the alcohol by now.

"Don't jump to conclusions. How much could our secret recipe be worth? On the other hand, the villa and the car are valued in millions. Besides, I will be returning to Bainbridge as one of the Cunninghams in a few days. Such a significant matter is not something a mere recipe can match."
