As Rejuvenis' hiring notice became more and more widely known, the meager salary that they were paying became the laughingstock around Hulwin. Meanwhile, Evander was curious about the amount of pay offered to any candidate who would apply for the position.

"Shouldn't we raise the pay a little, sir? Because there is apparently no one interested in our position at all. Just take a look outside."

Nevertheless, Evander's kind suggestion was immediately rejected by Matthew. "Relax, what's the hurry? We should wait until the word reaches more people." He then confronted Grayson once again, thinking it was necessary for him to understand more about his conflict with the Yarwood Family.

After learning Matthew's intention, Grayson held nothing back and recounted the entire story of his conflict with the Yarwoods in detail. It was then that Matthew learned that Grayson was, in fact, a talented doctor with exceptional skills that could be considered second to none. Nevertheless, when Grayson was in need of some herbs for his clinic earlier at the beginning of the year, his business suffered from cash flow issues because he was unable to get any extra funds on short notice from the properties he sold.

Later, when the Yarwood Family learned about that, they approached Grayson, claiming that they had the herbs he needed. They then politely told him that he could purchase the goods from them on credit and pay them back when he had the money. Thinking that the ten-percent interest rate wasn't high anyway, he directly agreed with the offer and accepted it without hesitation due to the urgent need for the herbs.

Nonetheless, after both parties signed the contract, the representatives from the Yarwood Family requested that both copies be taken back to them for their patriarch to review, which Grayson agreed to because the quality of the herbs seemed satisfactory to him.

When the representatives of the Yarwood Family returned with the contract a few days later, the original payable interest rate had changed from an annual basis to a monthly basis. Making matters worse was the revised interest rate calculation had been done with the compound interest method. Grayson then realized that he had fallen for the Yarwood Family's wicked scheme, but because of their influence and power, he had no choice but to give in and put up with them. Because of that, he was forced to sell off his properties just to repay his debt, as he blamed himself for underestimating the Yarwoods. However, when Grayson tried to dispose of his real estate properties, all the agents he approached for help refused to entertain him, having been notified by the Yarwoods not to do so beforehand. Moreover, the Yarwood Family even disrupted Grayson's clinic operation, denying him any chance to repay his debt as if things weren't bad enough for him.

As for his former business partners, they avoided Grayson like he was an alien, refusing to lend him money. Thanks to those people, his debt had grown from 750 thousand to 2.4 million in just a year.

Upon hearing Grayson's side of the story, Matthew nodded in response. "It looks like the Yarwoods are far more powerful than they seem. Not only have they managed to keep Martial League under their thumb, but they have also dominated the commercial world around this town. Anyway, it's quite clear to me that their ultimate goal is to buy over your clinic to monopolize the medical industry in Hulwin."

While Matthew and Grayson were discussing matters about the Yarwood Family, a group of teenagers with ragged outfits suddenly appeared at the clinic's entrance. Upon entering the place, the leader among them stared at Matthew and the others. "Are you hiring here?" he asked.

Put off by their disheveled appearance, Evander was about to shoo them away, but before he could act, Matthew stood up from his seat and sized up the teenagers in front of him. A few seconds later, he nodded in satisfaction and smiled.

"Yes, we are hiring."

The leader of the young teenagers seemed surprised after noticing that Matthew only seemed a few years older than he was.

He asked another question. "Apart from the basic salary, do you guys provide meals here?"

"Yes, we do."

"How many people do you need then?"

"As many as there are."

"What are the conditions?"

"Anyone can apply for the position. As long as you're under 25 years old."

After asking those questions, the leader of the teenagers seemingly got the answer he wanted, reacting with a happy expression on his face. "Alright, we want to apply as guards." As he replied, he leaned closer to the young man next to him and whispered in his ear, whereupon he ran out the door eagerly.

"What's your name?" Matthew asked, feeling interested in knowing more about his candidate.

"The name is Danny Allison, from Whitebird Ridge in Skargness."

Upon finishing the conversation, Matthew exchanged gazes with Evander in a surprised manner.
