"They are becoming more and more daring. Even though my grandfather's health is deteriorating, they are still plotting against the family."

Miles could only shake his head helplessly at his niece's straightforward personality.

It seemed that she truly didn't consider Matthew as an outsider after today's events.

Nonetheless, in order to prevent leaking any more family secrets than necessary, he turned to Matthew and quirked his lips into an awkward smile as he tried to do some damage control.

"Mr. Larson, I apologize for the embarrassment. If possible, please cure my grandfather's illness as soon as possible."

Compared to the two blood relatives, Miles, who was just an adopted son, clearly cared more about Old Mr. Zedler's health.

"That's not a problem!"

Matthew was already prepared to treat Old Mr. Zedler.

Meanwhile, Hulwin was about to face a great upheaval.

"Spread the word and gather all the representatives from various industries in Hulwin for a meeting. Since Matthew Larson is already dead, he must give up what he had taken from us. There are things that need to be done."

The entirety of Hulwin was instantly clamoring for a piece of the cake following his command.

Sure enough, the heads of several industries began to flock to the Yarwood Family's headquarters.

"President Warrington! President Warrington, something big has happened!" Arian cried urgently as he rushed into Stellan's office.

"We just received news that Valentin Yarwood has summoned all the industry representatives in Hulwin and plans to take action against Mr. Larson's properties."

Stellan immediately furrowed his brows upon hearing such news.

He was aware of the news that Matthew had encountered an ambush.

To make matters worse, there was still no news from Matthew, even though it had been a week since those rumors had started circulating.

Stellan was getting increasingly anxious as he dwelled on that particular matter.

"Arian, gather our hidden forces quickly."

"President Warrington, will we sever ties with the Yarwood Family? Don't you think we should wait a little longer? Our men are still training."

Stellan shook his head firmly as he instructed, "There's no time. Valentin has gathered all the prominent figures of Hulwin on his side. However, he didn't invite me, which already tells me all I need to know." Then, he continued, "It doesn't matter whether Mr. Larson is alive or dead. We have no way out. We only have one option, which is to fight our way out of this. So, get going. Valentin is likely to make a move soon. Also, remember to inform Captain Calloway about this. He will know what to do."

Arian didn't hesitate and turned to dart out of the room as he understood the urgency of the situation.

On the other hand, Stellan, who was left alone in his office, was about to go bald from the stress.

"Oh, geez. Mr. Larson, you're going to be the death of me."

On the other side, Valentin was sporting a solemn expression in the Yarwood Family building as he led the meeting.

"All of you present here are the prominent figures of Hulwin. So, I see no point in beating around the bush. I, Valentin Yarwood, intend to consolidate all the forces and stabilize the chaotic situation in Hulwin. Will you join me? Or will you be siding against me?"

He narrowed his eyes as he spoke and impassively observed everyone's reactions.
