Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) -
Chapter 3104 Torrential Deluge
In a moment like this, the well-equipped Xavier Regiment fared somewhat better, as their heavy bulletproof vests offered them a layer of effective protection. But the others from the Night Vine syndicate were not so fortunate.
No matter how desperately they pleaded for help, they could not escape the killing field.
In just a few seconds, under the onslaught of boulders and howling winds, thousands had perished in this infernal valley.
Zedbar, under the protection of his subordinates, managed to squeeze into an armored vehicle, temporarily avoiding the hail of bullet-like rocks.
As long as we could stay clear of the relentless barrage of falling massive rocks, we should be safe.
"D*mn it, what kind of hellhole is this? How are you people even doing your job?"
Zedbar grabbed one of the reconnaissance officers by the collar. His eyes were bloodshot from the horrific scene outside the window.
These are the people I invested a fortune in. Even the scattered troops brought in by Enzo were now mere cannon fodder. If we all get wiped out here... Thinking of this, he was seething with rage.
"It's all because you bunch of good-for-nothings can't do your job fairly! Agh!"
He roared in anguish, pulling out his pistol.
Just as Zedbar was about to execute the chief of reconnaissance, one of his subordinates nearby began to tremble uncontrollably. He looked like he had seen a ghost, sweat gushing from his forehead as if a spring had burst forth. Furious, Zedbar was about to berate the subordinate. But when he turned his head around, the sight before him made his heart skip a beat and nearly stop altogether.
As the boulders continued to tumble down, cracks began forming along the cliffs on both sides of the valley.
To the horror of Zedbar and his men, water was now seeping from those cracks, causing the water levels to rise dramatically.
...
On the other side, Enzo's unease only grew the closer they got to the location mentioned by Floyd. So, he decided to quietly slip away from the group and observe from the shadows.
Just minutes after separating from
the group, he was horrified to
discover a massive force, nearly a hundred thousand strong, had been tailing them from behind.
Their disciplined formation made it clear that they were a well-trained elite combat unit.
"Quick, alert Zedbar!"
To make matters worse, his subordinate pulled out his phone and despaired to replace no signal at all in the area.
At that very moment, Enzo finally understood the source of his constant dread.
We were already caught in a massive trap that could wipe out our entire army from the moment Floyd appeared. "D*mn it!"
Enzo cursed angrily and jumped into an SUV, speeding toward the main convoy.
At full throttle, Enzo raced to the Valley of Doom.
It felt like an illusion, but to him, the shape of the valley resembled a giant coffin.
But he had no time to dwell on that. With great urgency, the SUV plunged into the Valley of Doom.
After a few skids and drifts, Enzo fishtailed around a large bend and finally caught sight of the main convoy.
Before he could even relax, the scene before him scared the living daylights out of him.
Water was cascading down the cliffs, and as it converged on the valley floor, it quickly turned into a raging flood.
Those who were trying to avoid the
giant rocks and fierce winds were et without even a scream, corrent
instantly swallowed by the
"Quick, turn around!"
Enzo's command went unanswered. When he looked back, he saw the driver paralyzed with fear, staring at the towering flood and shaking violently.
Enzo didn't even have time to be angry. He slammed the car door open and leaped right out of the SUV.
