Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew)
Chapter 3106 Shadow Dealings

In the Scarlet Lounge, Arabella, dressed in light gauze, and Conor sat at a table. Both wore expressions of deep gloom.

Arabella's enchanting face no longer bloomed like a flower. Her brows were tightly furrowed, making her appear like a madwoman on the verge of choosing her next victim.

"According to the latest news from the front lines, the Xavier Regiment led by Zedbar has been completely annihilated. Not even Zedbar survived."

Conor's tone was extremely grim. He hadn't expected that the Xavier Regiment, with its formidable force of a hundred thousand soldiers and abundant weaponry, could be effortlessly annihilated by two people.

"Zedbar is a worthless fool. His demise is inconsequential. What matters now is figuring out how to kill Matthew. The news of him annihilating the Xavier Regiment will probably spread soon. When that happens..." Arabella remarked.

Conor understood Arabella's implications perfectly. Once the news of Matthew annihilating the Xavier Regiment spreads, his reputation will soar again. Neither the Cathay Martial League nor the Commercial Union would dare to oppose him anymore, and Matthew will no longer be constrained.

"The news can't be suppressed any longer. The families of the Xavier Regiment won't sit idly by. We need to seek countermeasures," Conor remarked.

After pondering for a while, he looked up and turned his gaze towards Arabella.

"Now, there is indeed a way," he said.

Arabella's eyes lit up as she immediately looked at Conor and urged, "What is the plan?"

"How is the king's health?" Instead of directly discussing the plan, Conor inquired about the health of King Gawain I of Arabella.

"Since Prince Gadel administered Matthew's elixir to him, his health has significantly improved from before. But, I feel the efficacy of the medicine is reducing recently," Arabella replied.

Conor's face revealed an expression of confirmation, with a confident smile spreading across his face.

"Princess Consort, there's no need to worry. King Gawain I have always been highly suspicious. You just need to subtly hint to His Majesty that the elixir's efficacy is gradually reducing," Conor reassured. "But how does this concern His Majesty?" Arabella couldn't help but ask.

Conor looked at the foolish woman before him, who was nothing more than a mere vessel. His expression remained unchanged. I wouldn't even bother dealing with her if I didn't need her for what was to come.

"His Majesty wouldn't have bothered with Matthew before. But what if he begins to suspect that Matthew is trying to control him with medication?"

Upon hearing this, Arabella instantly understood Conor's implication.

As the efficacy of the medication gradually diminishes, everyone will initially suspect whether the person who prescribed it did so

intentionally. As Conor suggested, I just needed to mention it in front of King Gawain I subtly, and his suspicions would escalate

uncontrollably.

Arabella's eyes flickered with understanding. Since Conor aims to manipulate this aging man, my role as King Gawain I's confidante would be indispensable. I could certainly leverage this opportunity to demand some benefits from Conor. Arabella's once grim face blossomed into a charming smile. She looked at Conor and said in a coquettish voice, "Mr. Durham, if things truly unfold as you said, then I'll be taking on quite a risk. Merely strategizing from the shadows won't be enough, would it?"

At the sight of Arabella's body drawing closer, with her subtly fragrance wafting through the air, a look of disdain flashed in Conor's eyes. Did she think a woman's charms so easily sways everyone?

However, for the sake of the bigger picture, Conor smiled and said, "Princess Consort, you jest."

In an instant, a dark figure appeared beside Conor, as if it had been there all along.

Conor said to Arabella, "These are the front-line fighters I've personally trained. I can lend you a hundred of them to serve your needs."

Arabella's eyes flashed with

excitement as she looked at the

front-line fighters who had suddenly appeared beside Conor. Even the once-powerful Yarwood Family had never possessed front-line fighters. Having them now would provide me with some means of self-defense.

"Then, I must thank you, Mr. Durham. If I am not the Queen, I would surely accompany you to Wraithrune," Arabella said with a coquettish smile.

"I'm truly unworthy of such fortune. Your nobility is beyond my reach."

At the sight of Arabella cheerfully departing, Conor's eyes flashed with

a fierce glint. If Arabella hadn't obstructed my path, then the

vel

hundreds of front-line fighters

protecting her would be

inconsequential. But if she did, those

front-line fighters would be the

quickest blades to end her life!
