Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew)
Chapter 3137 Matthew's Letter

The figures of the two gradually faded into the distance. Their footprints vanished without a trace as a gust of wind blew past.

Lucius was sitting dazed inside a bamboo house on the Basha's Sacred Mount, with no sign of Ivy by his side.

Ivy hadn't appeared near Lucius ever since she found out they had sent Matthew down the mountain.

"What kind of sect master am I, being so useless?" A bitter smile spread across Lucius' face.

They were one of the six great sacred mountains in the world, filled with masters and countless secrets, respected as the residents of the mountain by the outside world. Yet, they fell into internal strife over someone's words. Even his daughter didn't want to see him.

Basha's Sacred Mount was located at the borders of Seraphis, Druira, and Montiria. It had maintained its position due to its deep cultural heritage.

Lucius wasn't afraid of the millions of troops outside. Even a million troops could be defeated if Basha's Sacred Mount exerted its full force. However, a sect's most important aspect was its inheritance.

Basha's Sacred Mount would suffer significant casualties if the disciples and elders were exhausted, inevitably leading to a decline in number.

Lucius wouldn't worry about Matthew if he were alone. However, behind him were tens of thousands of disciples and the inheritance. So, he couldn't act rashly. Chirp! Chirp!

A crisp bird call sounded from the windowsill. A white dove stood there, lazily basking in the sunlight.

Lucius' gaze sharpened. The dove had a message tube attached to its leg. He quickly got up and retrieved it.

He unrolled the letter inside after opening the sealed tube. His expression gradually lightened as he read, and finally, he laughed out loud.

It was the first time Lucius had laughed in days.

He had been filled with guilt ever since Matthew led the army out. Ivy's avoidance had added to Lucius' guilt as a father.

Now, Matthew's letter brought him immense relief.

Indeed, the letter was from Matthew, who was hundreds of kilometers away.

Matthew had hired a professional messenger using ten rice bugs, requiring only two plump ones per hundred kilometers.

Two sentences at the bottom of Matthew's letter made Lucius' previously cheerful face darken.

'Sect Master Lucius, please tell Miss Ivy that I'm doing well. We'll discuss the details when I return.'

Matthew then added a postscript. 'By the way, please take care of the messenger dove for me, Mr. Lucius. Its needs are simple. Three meals a day of various fat worms.

Reading Matthew's instructions, Lucius couldn't help but mutter, "This kid, he's got me now!"

Lucius was the sect master of one of the world's six great sacred mountains, one of the top experts in the world, respected and feared by outsiders. Yet now, he had to take care of a bird.

Lucius and the white dove on the windowsill exchanged a friendly gaze, and the dove chirped again. Chirp. Chirp.

Lucius helplessly covered his forehead.

This bird indeed can't speak human language. How on earth does Matthew communicate with it?

In his mind, Lucius pictured Matthew and the dove having a silent, eye-contact conversation.

Chirp. Chirp. (At least fifty worms.)

Matthew replied, "Chirp. Chirp. (You're asking for a lot; fifty worms could get me a big bird!)"

The dove continued, "Chirp. Chirp. (Twenty worms, final offer.)"

Matthew said, "Chirp. Chirp. (Deal)"

Lucius couldn't help but laugh at the imagined scene, scaring the white dove, which thought the human might turn on it.

A green figure suddenly appeared at

the door

Lucius' bamboo house,

emanating an aura that warned others to stay away.
