Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) -
Chapter 3152 Ivy's Injured
The six men accompanying Iris were elite soldiers handpicked from Montiria's army, all skilled and exceptional individuals.
One of them, a gaunt man with a sickly pallor, coughed twice, his pale face looking as if he might collapse at any moment. He drew a long white blade. In the next instant, the man appeared beside Ivy, his blade flashing as it slashed toward her. Because Ivy was holding onto Sasha, she couldn't properly defend herself and had to retreat. Blood splattered, and Ivy glanced seriously at her wounded arm. These opponents were no ordinary fighters.
"Let me go; I can help!"
Ivy ignored Sasha, knowing she would have no chance against their opponents if she couldn't even break free from Ivy's grip. After a moment of thought, Ivy decided to drag Sasha toward the forbidden area in the rear of Basha's Sacred Mount. Although all the disciples of Basha's Sacred Mount had gone out to fight, the spirit beasts in the forbidden area were still there. While they normally didn't interfere, if she led the pursuers there, the beasts might not stand idly by as she was chased down. As Ivy took Sasha away speedily, Iris gave a cold order. "Continue the pursuit."
Among the six men, two were extraordinarily strong and served as Iris' bodyguards. The remaining four included the gaunt man with the long blade, a burly man skilled in swordsmanship, and a pair of twin brothers. The twins, being of one mind, had mastered a combined attack technique; together, they could overwhelm even the inner disciples of Basha's Sacred Mount in just a few moves.
"I have the power of the Red Fire Lotus; I can fight too." Sasha insisted, noticing Ivy's bleeding arm.
"Even I can't handle them if they attack all at once," Ivy coldly replied. "You wouldn't stand a chance."
Sasha fell silent. She knew she was no match for them, but being dragged along by a woman who had feelings for her husband made her uncomfortable, and a deep sense of frustration began to take root in her heart.
"Where do you ladies think you're running off to?" The twin brothers taunted as they trailed behind Ivy and Sasha. The young man with the long blade and the burly man with the sword followed closely behind them, not saying a word.
Already injured and burdened with Sasha, Ivy's pace slowed, allowing the four men to gradually close the distance.
One hundred yards... Fifty yards... Ten yards...
Seeing the four men closing in with mocking smiles, Ivy gritted her teeth and pushed Sasha forward, shouting, "Run straight into the forbidden area of Basha's Sacred Mount!"
Sasha glanced at Ivy's resolute back and bit her lip before dashing forward. She couldn't waste the time Ivy had fought to buy her.
"You handle her; we three will continue the pursuit."
The burly swordsman nodded in acknowledgment as a bloody smile spread across his face.
With that, the twin brothers and the gaunt man circled around Ivy and continued their pursuit of Sasha.
Back at the Montiria army's rear camp, Matthew was still deep in cultivation when Gadel rushed in. "Matthew, Iris has launched an attack on Basha's Sacred Mount." Matthew's eyes snapped open, filled with malice.
"Attacking Basha's Sacred Mount at such a critical moment has Iris lost his mind? Are the frontline commanders idiots, too?"
Chirp, chirp...
Suddenly, a white dove appeared at
the entrance of the tent, cooing at Matthew while raising its leg to reveal a letter tied to it. A sense of dread washed over Matthew as his right eye twitched uncontrollably.
QUMS
At that, he quickly took the letter, opened it, and began to read.
'To Matthew,
Basha's Sacred Mount has gained some advantage in the war against Montiria, so there's no need to worry. However, Sasha unexpectedly arrived at Basha's Sacred Mount. I'm concerned for her safety, so I've assigned Ivy to protect her. All is well.
-Lucius, Sect Master of Basha's Sacred Mount.'
"Sasha is back!"
