Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) -
Chapter 3217 Black Dog Nemesis
The two Aerial Legion soldiers hoisted Raeford onto their shoulders.
When the crowd below saw that the Gloam Division had actually brought out the man they demanded, they erupted into thunderous cheers.
"The Gloam Dogs have finally met their match!"
"Long live the Aerial Legion! Thank you for your hard work, sirs."
"Sir, these are some eggs I just bought-please don't turn them down."
The two Aerial Legion soldiers found themselves surrounded by the enthusiastic townsfolk, who offered them freshly bought dairy, meat, produce, and more. For a moment, they were at a loss, standing there, stunned.
They remembered their time serving in the Gloam Division when the people's eyes were filled with hidden disgust and hatred, a stark contrast to the admiration and support they now received.
"Everyone, we need to take this man back quickly. Please let us pass," one of the soldiers said.
"Make way for the Aerial Legion heroes!"
"Who the hell is shoving me? Get out of my way!"
A path instantly opened up in the crowd, allowing the two soldiers to march toward the Aerial Legion's command center. Hundreds of Montirian citizens took out their phones, capturing the soldiers' retreating figures and posting them online under various headlines. 'Newly Formed Aerial Legion Storms Gloam Division to Demand Man!'
'Gloam Division Intimidated by Aerial Legion-Hand Over Detainee Under Pressure of General-in-Chief!'
But all the posts carried the same message: the Gloam Division could no longer act with impunity.
Meanwhile, the crowd outside the Aerial Legion's command center continued to swell, with a sudden burst of excitement erupting among them.
"Look online! Those two Aerial Legion soldiers really managed to demand the man from the Gloam Division!"
"Where? Where?"
"I saw it! They're carrying a man in a Gloam Division uniform."
"Haha, your revenge is finally within reach, old girl."
"Son, rest assured, your father, I, will make sure General Tarian brings justice for you."
Many in the crowd had lost loved ones to the Gloam Division. Now, they were weeping openly, stepping forward to kneel at the gates of the Aerial Legion command center.
"Ward Gilfrey humbly requests that General Tarian seek justice for my late wife," the elder cried.
"Bryce Stanton begs General Tarian to avenge my son, who was brutally murdered by the Gloam Division!" the father pleaded.
Aelion, standing at the top of the steps, raised his hand slightly. "My fellow countrymen, please rise. I, Aelion Tarian, will ensure justice for all your grievances."
"Thank you, General Tarian, thank you! Thank you, General Tarian!" the crowd chanted in unison, their voices echoing three times before gradually quieting down.
When the people kneeling below the
vel:
steps finally rose, tears brimming in their eyes as they stood aside, Aelion sat watching calmly on top of an Aerial Legion soldier. For him, this was a perfect opportunity to enhance his reputation at the expense of others-an opportunity he wasn't going to waste. That was why he went to the trouble of orchestrating such a grand
spectacle.
"General Tarian, the criminal Raeford has been brought!" the two Aerial Legion soldiers reported, tossing Raeford onto the ground in front of Aelion.
"Good. You may return to your
posts," Aelion commanded and glanced at Raeford, who lay unconscious on the ground. With a slight flick of his hand, he sent a jolt of energy into one of Raeford's acupoints.
"Ugh!" Raeford coughed up a mouthful of blood, waking from his unconscious state.
As his eyes opened, he saw the scruffy man, looking like a lone wolf ready to pounce at any second. Nearby, angry citizens glared at him, and above them, Aelion sat, O watching everything unfold.
"Mercy, sir! Please, I'll give you everything I own!" Raeford pleaded, but his only response was the sight of the scruffy man slowly approaching, a long knife given by Aelion in hand.
