Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew)
Chapter 3260 The Grand Welcome Ceremony

"Mr. Matthew Larson never requested a single penny from us. He financed the entire business conflict himself and emerged victorious. Don't you think you've wronged him all this time?"

Bang!

"Arnold, you've crossed the line!"

Arnold's composed voice cut through Gadel's heart like a razor-sharp blade. Gadel's palm struck the table with force as he rose, his fury directed at Arnold.

Arnold went on one knee, lowering his head as he spoke in a soft, measured tone. "Your Majesty, I only believe that you've lost your way, strayed from your true self."

Arnold's words left Gadel in a state of bewilderment.

What indeed was his true self?

His initial ambition had been to become the King of Montiria and guide the nation to prosperity. When Matthew Larson helped him ascend the throne, his pledge was unequivocal. "You aid me in achieving power and wealth, and I will stand by you, ready to fight for you." Yet now, in the light of his current actions, all that remained were manipulations and exploitation. Had he genuinely considered his friendship with Matthew recently?

Gadel felt as though he were a man pulled from the depths of drowning, collapsing weakly back onto his throne.

"Arnold, contact the Cathay embassy. Inform them that I wish to speak with Elder Carr of the Martial League General Assembly."

Arnold looked up at Gadel, a genuine smile gracing his features. In an instant, he vanished like a fleeting shadow, heading toward the embassy.

"Guards, summon the Minister of Ceremonies!"

Seated upon his throne, Gadel suddenly recalled something and picked up the intercom to issue the command.

Before long, an elderly man with a head of hair and a flowing beard entered, his steps unsteady and trembling.

"The Minister of Ceremonies is advanced in age. Someone, bring him a seat."

This minister had been serving since the reign of Gadel's predecessor, King Gawain I. Decades had passed, yet he remained in office, though the passage of time had clearly aged him.

"I thank Your Majesty for your graciousness."

In the entire court, the Minister of

court,

Ceremonies was perhaps the least intimidated by Gadel. Not due to his age-Gadel showed little regard for age; mistakes were met with consequences regardless of how many years one had lived,

Rather, the minister was known for his unwavering integrity and frugality. Despite the opportunities for corruption within the Ceremonial Department, he had managed it with such strict discipline that it had become the most scrupulously managed department.

"Minister of Ceremonies, I want a grand welcome ceremony at the city gates."

"Your Majesty, what scale of ceremony do you require? A reception for foreign dignitaries or a tribute to national heroes?"

These two types of ceremonies were the most common, generally costing only a few hundred thousand dollars.

"What if I were to attend in person? How long would it take to prepare?"

"Your Majesty... Cough, cough... What did you say?"

Seeing the minister's astonished expression, Gadel continued calmly. "The red carpet must be at least a hundred yards long, with a Montirian soldier-stationed every ten steps. All ministers must accompany me. And I desire a military escort extending from the city gates all the way to the palace."

The Minister of Ceremonies was overwhelmed, his voice trembling with disbelief. "Your Majesty, with soldiers stationed every ten steps to the palace, the entire city's army would be involved. What about your safety?" "No matter. Once he arrives, no one in this world could harm me. And ensure there are fireworks, the royal orchestra, and garlands. None of these should be omitted."

The Minister of Ceremonies swallowed hard. In his four or five decades of service, he had never orchestrated such a grandiose event. Who could the king be preparing to welcome?

"Your Majesty, this could cost millions to execute."

"No matter. Money is the one thing I have in abundance."
