Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) -
Chapter 3295 The Banquet
Squeak.
The room's door was directly pushed open, and Matthew entered with the crown prince.
A smile appeared on Matthew's face when he saw the room full of people.
"I never expected that my arrival would be treated with such a grand ceremony. I'm truly grateful to everyone."
Glaucus, sitting beside the main seat, stood up after seeing Matthew.
His face was full of flattery, and he replied, "Not at all. We were so excited about the Summit Warden's arrival to Dewsbury that we couldn't sleep at night." Glaucus' words immediately resonated with everyone.
"That's right, we've long heard of the renowned Summit Warden."
"We've all been too excited to sleep for the past few days, eagerly awaiting Summit Warden's arrival."
The room was suddenly filled with voices of flattery.
In truth, none of them had slept well these past few days.
They had stayed up late, hurriedly instructing their family members to clean up all the dirty dealings they had been involved in.
Some even dreamt of Matthew standing before them with a blood-dripping knife as soon as they fell asleep.
"Summit Warden, please take the main seat!"
Glaucus escorted Matthew to the head seat with a beaming face.
The chair at the head seat was completely different from the others.
It was what people commonly referred to as the Master's Chair.
Matthew did not decline and sat down directly.
"Bring the dishes!"
Then, several beautiful servants entered within a minute.
Each held trays of exquisite dishes.
Stuffed salmon, braised short ribs, balsamic chicken, steaks, and many more.
Dozens of famous dishes were laid out one after another, and the room was instantly filled with an enticing aroma.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I have come here today for a matter of business."
Though the heads of the families sitting there remained calm, they all had the same thoughts inwardly.
Matthew is finally going to reveal his purpose.
Matthew swept his gaze around the room and smiled softly.
"Some of you may have already guessed. I've come here this time to seek cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of Dewsbury. Besides, engaging in exchanges with the chambers of commerce in Hulwin and Concordia so that we can all make progress together and make money."
As soon as Matthew finished speaking, Glaucus, who was beside him, immediately spoke with a smile.
"Since it's the request of the Summit Warden, we naturally won't refuse."
A smile appeared on Matthew's face as well.
Then, he raised his glass and said loudly, "Alright, I will give a toast to you all since everyone is so straightforward!"
With that, Matthew downed the glass of strong liquor, over seventy percent proof, in one gulp.
"Well done, truly worthy of the Summit Warden. You truly can drink!"
"Indeed, the Locke Family pay respects to the Summit Warden."
Matthew looked at the smiling faces of the heads of the family, but he felt no joy.
It might have made these people seem slightly more trustworthy if they had shown a bit of hesitation in discussing terms with him.
Yet now, they agreed so easily. They even had smiles on their faces.
Matthew didn't believe his reputation alone could make them genuinely submit.
A flush appeared on Matthew's face after a few rounds of drinks and dishes. He seemed somewhat tipsy.
He turned to Glaucus beside him
and asked, "Glaucus, I passed by a
particularly foul-smelling place on my
theway here. What's going
there?"
Glaucus' previously dazed eyes flashed with a glint of clarity, and he replied, "Summit Warden, those
people are just a bunch of unrulet
commoners. It's not worth your attention. The Watson Family has been driven crazy by those people."
Hearing Glaucus' words, Matthew smiled and nodded, then continued eating and drinking.
However, he was completely sober.
The Watson Family. It seems they must be the ones who demand money and charge fees at the garbage station.
A cold glint flashed in Matthew's eyes.
