Married By Mistake
Chapter 26

LUNA

“Huh? You’re pregnant already ?! Omygosh! I’m an aunt.” Camille said cheerfully.

I smiled sternly and sipped the coffee we bought at Starbucks. “You’re happy that I’m pregnant. While my husband …”

“What kind of nonsense did Dylan do?”

“He thought Skyler was my son’s father.” I covered my mouth with my hand to shut down the sob. He handed me a tissue and I wiped it on my cheek and eyes. “he doesn’t believe me that nothing happened between me and Skyler. How did my husband think I betrayed him?”

Camille held my hand that was on the table. “Let him cool down. That’s understandable, too. Dylan’s mind has been narrow since I hurt him. All he wants is for him to be in control of everything.”

“I’m just afraid that he might turn on hurting me again.”

“If he does that, I’ll let him taste the taste of treacherous flatulence.”

I laughed at what Camille said. “Does that taste good?”

“Just ride.” She says so artfully.

Camille and I spend the day together. She eases my heart. I also explained to her why I went to California for Skyler. I hope Dylan understands that Sky has played a big role in my life. If I hadn’t met him, I probably would have committed suicide out of grief.

“Everything’s alright, hmm?” I looked at Camille.

The car stopped in front of our gate. I nodded and slowly got out of the car.

“Call me when something happens, huh? I’ll pick you up right away.”

“Yes. Thank you, Camille.”

she is already pulling the car away. I opened the gate and entered. I put the key on the doorknob and turned it. I slowly pushed open the door and entered the house.

All the lights were on but there was no trace of Dylan around. I dropped my bag on the chair and went to the kitchen but he wasn’t there either.

I took a deep breath and went to our bedroom. I saw him lying on the bed and sleeping. I could smell the fragrance of wine throughout the room. He came home drunk again.

I approached him and remove his shoes one by one. I also got him a dress that is much more comfortable than his polo and jeans, after I dressed him I went downstairs to cook dinner.

When I finished cooking I went upstairs to wake up Dylan. He could not sleep with his stomach full of alcohol.

“D, wake up,” I said while shaking his shoulder.

“Hmm ..” He growled but didn’t open his eyes.

“Eat first.”

“Get out. I want to sleep.” His cold response.

I sighed. “Dylan, come on. Eat first and then rest. It’s bad—”

He rose and grasped my hand. “Shut up! And get the f*****g hell out of my eyes!”

The corner of my eye heats up. “Dylan, what did I do for you to hate me this much?”

“Don’t start with the waterworks now! F**k!” He ran his hand through her hair.

I took a deep breath and turned my back on it. I shouldn’t be stressed for the sake of my child as well. I ate what I cooked even when I was alone. I also want to rest but I don’t want to sleep on an empty stomach. It might hurt the child if I starve myself.

I lay down next to Dylan. We turn our backs on each other. I feel a little pain because he can tolerate me, while I, on the other hand, one hug from him, and I forgive him. Because I love him so much.

I woke up with someone shaking my shoulder. When I opened my eyes I immediately saw my husband’s face. Sunlight from the window greeted me. I rolled my eyes and then stretched. I noticed he was very well dressed.

“Get dressed, we’re going to the ob-gyn.” His voice is serious.

My face lit up because of what he said. Has he accepted yet? Does he already believe me? “Really?”

“Yes. I need to know how many days that baby has been in your womb so I can say it’s mine.”

The smile melted on my lips. I tightened my grip on the blanket that wrapped around me. He really can’t believe me.

“I do not want.” My voice is stern.

A corner of his l*p rose. “Why? You admit that?”

I took a deep breath. I was hurt by what he was doing. “You don’t need science to tell it was your son that I’m carrying, Dylan. You look down on me.”

“If you don’t want to, don’t. Whose lost was it?” He says sarcastically.

“You.” I boldly say.

“Me? If you are the collateral, I don’t even care. There’s a lot of women out there.” I sighed at what he said.

He turned around and left the room. My tears flowed like a dam. It was so painful. Shit! Many women can replace me in his heart. But, I will not give up. I’m not leaving. When I leave, he will have the freedom to do whatever he wants. Maybe someone else will come to our house. I didn’t let him know I was going to the ob-gyn. I just want to know how many weeks or months my child is.

“Okay, Mrs Reyes. Please, relax for a bit.” The female doctor said politely to me.

I took a deep breath. I winced when she put gel on the surface of my stomach.

“Okay. Your baby is good. It’s healthy.” The doctor adjusted her mirror.

I got up a little to see what my son looked like. I could almost cry at the look of the child in my womb.

“You’re one month pregnant, Mrs Reyes.”

I wiped my cheek because tears were falling there. This is probably how Mama felt while watching us on the monitor.

“All I can advise is to avoid stress and eat healthy foods. I’ll give you vitamins too, you’ll take it regularly for you and the baby, okay?” The doctor gave me the picture of my son. As well as vitamins and a list of what not to do now that I’m pregnant.

I hid the paper in my bag and headed home. I was watching television while waiting for Dylan to come home. he isn’t answering my calls. And when I called his secretary, he said Dylan was busy and not to be disturbed.

I stood up and looked out the window when I heard the sound of Dylan’s car. I was surprised when a woman came out of the driver’s seat. She rotated in the passenger seat and helped Dylan get out barely able to stand up intoxicated.

My husband hugged him while the woman leaned on my husband’s waist. There was a knife slicing through my heart as I watched them approach our front door. I opened the door and they both looked at me.

“Oh. Sheena, I would like you to meet my wife. Say hello to her, darling.” Dylan’s tongue would almost curl in intoxication.

“Hi.” The woman answered. Her beautiful eyes avoided looking at me. She bit her red l*p as if she’s embarrassed.

“She left to go to her ex and left me. And the funny part is, when she came home she announced that she’s pregnant. I’m gonna be a Daddy– I think.” He adds more.

I was shocked by the pain I felt.

“Dylan, stop.” The woman said coldly.

I approached them and I also put Dylan’s arm on my shoulder. We helped him into the house and lay down on the sofa. Dylan immediately dropped himself there and covered his eyes with his arms.

We looked at the woman. She cleared her throat. “I just met him at the bar earlier. But please don’t think that something happened to us or whatever. He’s wearing a ring and looks like another woman is taking advantage of his drunkenness. You know, as long as the man is handsome, whether married or not “No, they’ll sleep. I just asked the club where he lives and I delivered. So, please don’t be offended.”

“I’m sorry for the inconvenience. We just had a little bit of a problem and it hasn’t been fixed yet.” I looked sadly at Dylan now still lying quietly. I smiled sparingly at him. “Thanks for taking my husband home.”

“No problem. All right, there’s a taxi waiting for me, so I better go.” She said with a smile and turned away.

I sighed before closing the door. I heard Dylan’s faint snoring. I approached him and knelt beside him. I noticed the redness on his cheek.

I fixed the hair on his forehead. “What am I going to do to you, Dylan?”
