Married By Mistake
Chapter 29

LUNA

I was just looking outside when the door to my room slowly opened. When I looked at it, Dad’s worried face flashed at me.

“Luna? I cooked breakfast. Eat first.” He said.

“Thanks, Papa.” I got up and leaned on the headboard of my bed. Dad placed the tray on my lap.

He leaned over me and wiped the tear from my cheek. “I wish I can take away the pain and burden you’re feeling right now, sweetheart.”

“Papa, am I unlovable? I feel like I’m just a waste of space.” I whispered.

He stroked my hair. He smiled to relieve me. “Don’t think that, daughter. If you’re unlovable, your mother won’t sacrifice her life just to give birth to you. I’m just a jerk for not treating you like she wanted me to. I regret the days that I ignored you, I’m sure Dylan will wake up to the truth too. Now, eat your food. Maybe my grandson is hungry. “

I looked at it. I saw the love and concern in his eyes. “Papa, I love you.”

He approached me and kissed me on the forehead. “I love you too, darling. You’re the most expensive gem of mine.”

I feel so heavy right now. I always think of Dylan. I want to see him but can’t because he has to reflect on all his decisions. Anytime now, Dylan will rush home and ask about the ultrasound.

I stopped eating when I heard a knock on the door. It opened and Camille entered. My forehead furrowed when I saw its dark face.

“What is it, Camille?” Dad stood up on my bed.

“An animal has entered our house.” She smirked.

“Animals?” I repeat.

“Yes. Your husband.” She said while rolling her eyes.

My eyes widened. I don’t know how I’ll feel now that he’s here. I looked at Dad as he squeezed my hand. “Don’t leave the room. I need to talk to him first.”

I bowed and nodded. I felt my heart beating fast as Dad closed the door. I stared at the food in front of me. I forced myself to eat that even though all I wanted to do was get out of the room and see Dylan.

“Shit,” I whispered when I felt the tingling in my stomach.

I quickly removed the tray from my lap and laid it on my side. I got up and ran to the bathroom. It made a loud crash when I opened the door. I knelt in front of the bowl while nauseous. I touched my stomach and caught my breath. I faintly stood up and put on the pink silk robe. I went out of my room to hopefully fetch water from the kitchen.

“Get out of my house, Dylan. My daughter doesn’t want to see you right now.” I heard Dad say angrily from the living room.

I looked up from the stairs and saw Dylan. He looks very tired. Dad, on the other hand, clapped his hands as if something was holding him back. Camille, on the other hand, was folded and sitting on the sofa. She looked sharp at Dylan.

“Papa, I need to talk to her. I have to see her!”

“You’re just hurting my daughter. Go away, Dylan.”

“She’s my wife.”

“Am I, Dylan?” Everyone looked up at me.

“Luna,” Dylan whispered.

I slowly went down the stairs. “Go away and take care of our annulment papers. That’s what you want, right? Freedom.”

Someone snatched it from his pocket and pulled out a paper. It was our baby’s first picture. “Luna, this result shows—”

“That paper you’re holding shows how stupid you’ve become, Dylan.” I was cut off from what he had to say. They followed my gaze until I could get in front of Dylan. Our eyes fought. “You’re so shallow.”

“I’m sorry, baby.”

Don’t baby me! “Dad, Camille, leave us first.”

Camille stood up and looked at me confused. “But, Luna–“

“Please,” I begged.

“We’ll give you ten minutes,” Dad said and turned his back on us. Camille followed until Dylan and I was the only ones in the living room.

Dylan took my hand and pulled me into a hug. He pressed me to his chest. “Give me another chance. I won’t screw up this time.”

“Which of us is lacking, Dylan? Am I?” I whispered.

I pushed him away and our eyes met. I could see and pain and pain in his eyes. “I’m the one who’s lacking, Luna. I admit I’m too stupid to trust you. I’ll believe everything you say as long as you just come back to me.”

“If I hadn’t pinned my ultrasound to the annulment papers, I’m sure you wouldn’t have chased me. You wouldn’t have forced me to come back to you.”

“I’m so sorry, Luna. I hurt you too much. I’ve become selfish and I don’t care what the consequences of what I’m doing. Please, forgive me. It’s hard to live without you.”

I couldn’t stop the tears from dripping into my eyes. I want to hug him. I want to say, ‘okay, let’s fix it again’. I want to be with him again.

I pushed him away. I covered my mouth with my hand. “I can’t. It’s so painful beside you. I love you so much but it’s exhausting.”

He approached me again and covered my cheek. He wiped the tears that streamed down my cheek. “Luna, come back to me. I can’t afford to lose you.”

I shook. “I don’t want to. You’ve made me feel like you don’t need me anymore, haven’t you? You won’t have a hard time replaceing a replacement for me, are you?”

“I’m sorry. I was just blinded by jealousy so I said that. Please, come back to me. Let’s give our son a good family.”

I hope it’s that easy, Dylan. “You’re just going to hurt me again so go away, Dylan.”

He gasped. “Luna, baby, I love you. I’m sorry for what I’d said. Luna, please, I love you so much. So much. Come back to me! Please! I’m going to change.”

I walked away from him and turned around when I saw Papa’s three bodyguards approaching us. He grabbed both of Dylan’s arms. My husband fought back immediately. “Let me go! Luna! Luna! Please! I love you so much. Let me fill all my gaps with you.”

I was distracted. Dad’s bodyguards prevent Dylan from getting close to me. I saw the pain and agony in his eyes as they dragged him away.

“Don’t ever let him into my house!” Dad shouted.

Camille touched my shoulder. I looked at her. Annoyance and anger were still in her eyes. “Take a break. Too much stress will harm the child, Luna. I’ll just send the maid to you.”

I shook and wiped the tear from my cheek. “I’ll just drink water.”

“Are you alright, Luna?” My twin said worriedly.

“Stop asking me if I’m alright. I’m tired of lying.” I murmured.
