Married On Paper To The Billionaire -
Chapter 32: From Bad To Worse
"We should go to the hotel," Kane suggested when Emilia had finally calmed down.
"I'm not going anywhere until we replace my daughter," she replied stubbornly.
"I understand how you feel but as you can see, it's getting late. There isn't much we can do anymore at this time."
"So what do we do when we get to the hotel?"
"Strategize and plan for tomorrow. Maybe we can finally involve the local police."
She sighed. "Fine. Let's go."
They were keeping a low profile in Mexico but that didn't stop Kane from lodging them along with their companions in one of the finest hotels in the city. He'd gotten a single room for himself and Emilia because he didn't want to raise eyebrows in case they were recognized by name.
"I'll take the bed and you can sleep on the couch," she said dismissively when they entered their room.
"Ok," said Kane. He didn't have the energy to negotiate or argue with her. The day's experience had been mentally and physically draining for him.
She went to shower first and when she got out of the bathroom, Kane went in. They were like roommates instead of husband and wife.
Guilt clawed at Emilia's heart. Yes, Kane had cheated on her but it hadn't been intentional. In fact, if the tables were turned, it would have been labeled a sexual assault.
He'd apologized multiple times and he was still doing everything he could to redeem the situation. Maybe it was time for her to finally forgive him and stop holding onto her anger.
Besides, Serena had been very clear about her intentions. This was what she wanted - for Kane and Emilia's marriage to disintegrate so that she could finally slide in and occupy Emilia's spot in the Beaumont mansion. "Whew! That felt good," Kane sighed when he came out of the bathroom. He'd tied a white towel loosely around his lean waist.
Her body stirred in response as she gazed at her handsome husband's muscled body which was dripping wet at the moment. How long had it been since they'd made love? Months?
It felt like years and Emilia was instantly hungry for his touch. She wanted to feel him on top of her and inside of her.
She untied her robe and let the thick material fall to the floor, exposing her naked body. Kane was busy drying his hair with a towel but when he looked up and saw his wife, the towel fell out of his hands. "Well?" She said with a seductive smile.
Kane wasn't sure how to react at first. Wasn't this the same woman that was mad at him a couple of minutes ago? Was he forgiven or was this a test?
He stepped towards her carefully as if he was approaching a time bomb. He was going to wait for her to make the first move just in case he was reading her signals wrongly.
Emilia rose on tiptoes and pressed her lips against his own. He was too surprised to kiss her back before but then he recovered and took over.
"Yes," she whispered, encouraging him as he slid his fingers into her hair and held her head firmly in place.
It was a passionate kiss that fired up something hot within her. She didn't want the usual slow-burn lovemaking, she wanted hot, wild sex!
She ripped the towel away from his waist and was pleased to see that he was already aroused. Her hands were all over him, stroking, fondling and kneading him like dough. "Damn, that feels amazing!" He groaned appreciatively.
She dropped to her knees and gave him a taste of heaven. The pleasure was so much that he screamed her name and grabbed her hair in his fists, moving her head in rhythm to his thrusts. When he couldn't bear the sweetness any longer, he picked her up and carried her to the king-sized bed. He was on top of her in seconds, shoving himself inside her and riding her brutally. Emilia loved every second of his savage thrust. This was what she wanted - brutal sex that would leave her achy afterwards.
"That's it, baby! Don't stop!" She encouraged him.
He pulled out of her and flipped her on her belly, arching her bum in the air and penetrating her from behind. Emilia nearly cried as her climax kept building. How had she survived without sex this whole time? "This is heaven," Kane gushed. "You're heaven!"
"Show me," she said.
He came out of her and turned her around again, crushing his lips against her and pinning her wrists above her head. He slid into her again and this time, their eyes were locked on each other. They watched as they both came at the same time, crying out and seeing each other's pleasure reflected in their eyes. It was so intimate and deep.
When it was over, Kane held her in his arms and they lay in silence to catch their breath.
"You should move back into the mansion when we return home," she said calmly.
He was silent for a minute. "Do you mean that?"
"Yes."
He kissed her forehead and said, "Thank you."
"It's your home after all. I'm the stranger there."
"You're not a stranger in Beaumont Mansion and you can never be. That's your home too."
"Ok," she sighed.
They were quiet again for a while, listening to each other's heartbeats.
"I'm sorry about what happened, Emilia," Kane said quietly. "Not one day has passed that I don't regret my actions."
"If you're talking about that thing with Serena, forget it. She raped you and it was silly of me to hold that against you. I owe you an apology for that."
"No, please, don't apologize. I had no business getting drunk in the first place. That was a stupid thing to do."
"People do stupid things when grief strikes. It's time for me to finally get over your mistake and move forward with you. We're in this together."
He lifted himself on his elbow so that he could look into her eyes. "You're a real gem, you know?"
She smiled. "Thanks."
He kissed her softly. "I can't wait for us to replace Tiara and go back to our normal lives. I miss us."

"Me too. I keep thinking that maybe it was a mistake for us to leave Malta. The children were safe there."
"It wasn't a mistake. We were tired of living in isolation. Besides, Beaumont Mansion was safe until Serena showed up."
"We need to be extra vigilant about who we allow into our home in future. This has been a rather terrible wake-up call. My poor daughter had to pay the price for us to realize that we've been too careless with our safety." "Don't worry, we're going to replace her. No matter how long it takes, we will replace Tiara."
"No matter how long it takes..." she whispered pensively. "That's exactly the problem."

After ten days of searching high and low in Mexico and replaceing neither Joyce nor Tiara, they finally decided to return home. It was a deeply painful defeat but there was nothing else they could do.
As soon as they landed on U.S. soil, Kane gave Detective Riley a summary of their unfruitful trip. Expectedly, Riley was annoyed that the Beaumonts had taken such a risk without running it by him first.
"We'll call her in for questioning again," said Riley about Serena. "But I doubt if she has any concrete information to share. She clearly doesn't know Mrs Banks' whereabouts."
"It doesn't matter. Keep interrogating her until she remembers something, anything."
"Fine."
"What about you? Have you found any new leads?"
"Unfortunately, no. I'm sorry to say this but it appears that the trail has gone cold. We've covered all the bases, Mr Beaumont. At this point, we'll just have to wait to get lucky." Kane's heart sank. "What are you saying? Is the police giving up already?"
"We're not giving up. I'm just saying that there's really nothing else we can do at this point. We just have to wait and pray that she turns up."
"Wow..."
"I'm sorry."
He hung up and was quiet for the rest of the trip home. Emilia didn't bother to ask him what had happened because she'd heard his side of the phone call and she could piece the rest of the conversation together. The police had stopped searching for her daughter.
She blinked back the tears that pooled around her eyes. She was surprised that she still had tears left in her to shed. She thought she'd cried them all out since that dreadful night when she discovered that her daughter had disappeared. "I'm not giving up," Kane whispered. "I will not give up."
Emilia admired his hopefulness but she was done with that. Perhaps it was time for her to finally accept the sad reality that her daughter may never return.
A few minutes after they arrived home and greeted everyone, Detective Riley called Kane to notify him that Serena was now in police custody.
"I'll be right back, honey. I've got to run," he told Emilia and rushed out of the mansion.
He wasn't going to play nice this time around. He needed answers and he needed them now. He was ready to revoke the NDA and press charges against Serena if he had to.
Getting exposed for unwilful infidelity was a small price to pay to ensure that his daughter got justice. He would make sure that Serena rots in prison for all eternity.

"I don't know what else you want me to say. I've told you everything I know," she was saying when Kane arrived.
"You heartless liar!" He thundered at her. "Tell me where my daughter is or I'll throw caution to the wind and end your existence right now."
"Please, take it easy, Beaumont," said Riley. "Don't let her get under your skin like that."
"Oh, it's ok. Leave him alone. Let him kill me. I'd die a happy woman if he did."
"Shut up!" He barked at her. He was on the verge of losing his temper completely.
"You know what, maybe you should wait outside," Riley suggested.
"There's no need. I only came here to tell her that I have decided to press criminal charges against her for how she harassed me sexually in my own house and then abducted my daughter from her bed. You will die in jail!" Serena began to swoon on her chair. Suddenly, her eyes rolled back and she fell out of the chair, slamming her head on the floor when she landed. "What kind of stunt is this?" Kane asked, unimpressed.
Detective Riley rushed to her side to check her. "She's fainted," he announced.
"Oh, yeah? Just one threat and she faints. That's a foretaste of what she'll experience in prison if she doesn't confess and tell me where my child is."
"We have to revive her first," said Riley and he walked out of the interrogation room to call an ambulance.
Kane did not feel an ounce of pity for Serena as she was picked up and carried out of the room to get medical attention. He returned home much later but he was determined to come back to the police station once Riley summoned her again. Later that evening while he was tucking Travis in bed beside Emilia, he received a text message from the unknown number that had now become familiar to him. He didn't read the message immediately but waited until they were back in their room and Emilia had gone into the bathroom to brush her teeth.
"I'm nine weeks pregnant," the message read.
"Shit!" He cursed under his breath. Could the situation get any worse?
When Emilia returned from the bathroom, she instantly knew that something was wrong. Kane's face was as white as paper.
"What is it?" She asked him.
He forced a smile on his face and said, "It's business. Please, excuse me. I need to go to my study. I'll be back in a few minutes."
He rushed off before she could ask another question. Once he was alone in his study, he sent an email to Serena.
"I'll wire you a million dollars if you get rid of it," he wrote and sent it to her.
A few seconds later, her reply arrived. It was just four words.
"You will regret this!"
