Chapter 621

It was late at night, with few people in the hall of hospital. Theresa caught Charlie approaching right this way, followed by Jonathan and two other guys. Her first instinct told her to escape, but that would be a clumsy self-exposure. She slightly pulled up the scarf to cover her face, quickening her pace meanwhile.

But just before the moment she stepped out the gate, her wrist was so tightly grasped by someone that she let out a painful moan. "Charlie Calsis, are you insane?!" She almost thought he was trying to kill her. Charlie stared coldly at this woman who put herself in disguise, attempting to fleeing away from him again. His voice was freezing. "I thought you were gonna hide all your life." Shit! She just saw him, and she dared to escape again?! No way!

"You know I would come?"

"I know you love your dad, so I have been waiting for you from yesterday." It was impossible for Theresa to ignore her father, so Charlie, like the most patient hunter in the world, never took a step away from the hospital. As expected, he locked his prey! Rage courses through his veins anew.

Being pinned against the wall, Theresa felt a sever pain in her neck and hands brought by this abnormal posture. Charlie had never been so rude to her before, but now she was really a criminal in his eyes. She protested, "Let go of me, Charlie Calsis. It hurts!"

"Where are the two kids?"

"They are with Cristina. I took them to Cristina and then left. How could I know?"

Charlie squinted his eyes which were full of suspicions. He was tired of the line of lies of these two women. "You think I would believe you?"

"Or do you trust Cristina more?" Theresa sounded hurt. "Don't you know what kind of person I am? I have never lied to you, have I? Cristina has always been hostile to you. Do you think she will tell you the truth? I tell you. I.

HAVE NO IDEA where the kids are!"

Her tender and firm voice shook Charlie's faith. All the evidence pointed to one fact that Theresa must be the one who took away the kids. Charlie had set his mind on never trusting Theresa no matter what happened. But now, his mind was a mess.

Noticing that Charlie loosened his grip, Theresa seized the chance to get rid of his control. She stood straight and observed the man before her. He was much haggard than she expected, with bloodshot eyes and stubble along his jaw. Apparently he didn't get much sleep these days.

Theresa felt a pinch on her heart. She knew that she ought not to meet Charlie, to talk with him, because she could not refrain from feeling heartbroken seeing Charlie like this.

She forced herself to suppress this emotion. "How did you get yourself into this mess..."

"Mess? How happy you expect a father who lost his kids to be? I ask you one last time. Is it you who take my kids away? Tell the truth!"

"...no." Theresa almost blurted out the truth, but finally reason prevailed. She could not risk having her kids taken away from her!

Theresa was prepared to receive Charlie's anger and queries, but nothing happened. Charlie turned around to leave instead without even a question. He believed her words.
