If King didn't take action soon, he'd be watching Max getting cozy with his girl, and little Isaac might start calling another man dad. That was a nightmare scenario King was determined to avoid at all costs.

Isaac, with his wide, curious eyes, had no clue about the storm brewing in King's mind. Since that one day when he had gone out on a whim to buy a ring, Isaac had mostly kept to himself in his room, except for when King came to visit. Those were the moments when Isaac would open up a bit more.

Now, with the villa bustling with new staff members, Isaac, ever the polite kid, responded to their questions but never engaged beyond that. He only ever sought out his dad for company.

Rubbing his temples, King glanced over at Brielle, still fast asleep, half-covered with love bites. Gently covering her with the duvet, he got dressed and scooped Isaac into his arms. "What's on the breakfast menu today, champ?"

Isaac wrapped his arms around King's neck, his gaze drifting back to the bed. "Steak."

"Brushed your teeth yet?"

"Nope."

King headed to the bathroom to grab Isaac's toothbrush, adorned with a cartoon cicada, and squeezed some toothpaste onto it before handing it over.

Isaac took the toothbrush and, in a playful twist, started brushing Noir's teeth with it instead.

King didn't scold him; he simply fetched another toothbrush, applied toothpaste, and handed it over again.

"Daddy, Noir needs clean teeth too."

Isaac, full of enthusiasm, lifted Noir's lips as the panther, having grown up alongside him, patiently let the boy fuss over him, even baring his teeth to make it easier. "Make sure you brush yours after Noir's," King instructed.

After getting ready, King found Isaac still amusing himself with Noir, who swished its tail indulgently, allowing the mischief.

King tapped the panther on the head affectionately. Living with humans had made Noir almost too understanding.

Isaac's days were filled with playing with Noir, the two inseparable companions only leaving the room when hunger struck.

Waiting outside, King finally took Isaac downstairs, with Noir trailing beside them, its tail swishing lightly. The villa's staff were all recent hires; King, wary by nature, preferred not to keep the same people around for too long. Moreover, these individuals were all professionally trained, handpicked from a facility King had established for just this purpose.

Isaac didn't bother learning the names of the staff; in his world, there were only Daddy and Noir.

Breakfast was ready on the table, and King instructed a staff member to set aside a portion for Brielle to have later upstairs.

Post-breakfast, King had a meeting to attend, but Kailee chose that moment to cling to him, flaunting her ID.

"When are we going to make it official, King?"

The sight of finger marks on his cheek surprised Kailee. Could the person responsible still be breathing?

Even though a mask concealed most of his face, the marks were unmistakable, as were the nail scratches on his neck. Kailee's mood darkened at the thought of another woman leaving those marks.

Who could it be?

Despite her long association with

King, she hadn't noticed any woman close to him. Then, it hit her – an

Australian beauty, recently the talk of the town and supposedly the lost

princess of the Lynch familyve

Feeling the threat, Kailee attempted to hook her arm through King's, but he deftly avoided her, focusing on his computer.

"King?"

Her voice carried a tinge of hurt as she tugged at his sleeve, "You wouldn't happen to be seeing someone else, leaving me out in the cold, would you?" King's response was indifferent, not even sparing her a glance.

"With your brother tied up with the Sanchez family affairs, shouldn't you be lending a hand?"

Kailee pouted her gaze drifting to Isaac playing with Noir, a smile creeping onto her lips. "Little cicada, let's hit the mall today! You'll love it - remember how fun it was last time we went out? Plus, you'll meet lots of new people."

Isaac, busy manipulating Noir's paw, looked up briefly. "Daddy, the lady in our bed."

The implications hidden within those words were massive, causing Kailee's pupils to shrink as her gaze involuntarily swept upstairs.

But at that moment, Brielle was still

lost in slumber, thoroughly worn out from a night of untamed, unskilled passion, hardly in any state to wake up early.
