Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 1099
Brielle felt a sharp, stinging pain as she was suddenly forced onto the couch, his kisses landing hard and heavy on her.
"Let go!" she cried out, pinned down so tightly that she was sure bruises were forming on her arms. Tears sprang to her eyes as she tried to kick him away.
But King didn't dodge. He just kept going, picking up where he left off in the car.
Pain washed over Brielle, and sweat broke out as she heard his hoarse voice, "You really are heartless."
King's eyes were red as he quietly stared down at her. Her lips were bleeding, a stubborn spark still flickering in her eyes.
Ignoring everything else, King continued roughly, driven by a desperate need.
Brielle clung to the couch, veins standing out on the back of her hand from the strain. She was too weak to explain anything. Only pain remained.
King couldn't bring himself to look into her eyes, tormented by thoughts of the child from earlier, a burning rage smoldering in his heart. He wondered if Myles was meddling or if Brielle had her reasons. She wouldn't just abandon their child; she couldn't be that cruel. But then someone called, and she responded with such nonchalance. That slim hope he held onto was extinguished, convinced that only through this torment could he ensure she was still there. Always deceiving him, just like before.
Eventually, Brielle passed out, and King carried her to bed. As he descended the stairs, his phone rang - it was Joseph.
Joseph had caught a man who had also disappeared from the hospital at the same time as a certain female doctor. When Joseph found him, he was in mid-conversation with someone. Without hesitation, Joseph kicked him to the ground and brought him back to the mansion.
"Sir, this is one of the people who disappeared back then," Joseph said.
The man, with a sly look similar to the female doctor's, faced death with resignation. King, observing the familiar expression, chuckled lightly.
"Tell me, who abandoned the child?" King asked.
The man trembled, his face turning pale. "Why should I tell you?"
Joseph grabbed a knife and sliced off one of the man's fingers. The man screamed in agony on the floor, but Joseph pressed a boot against his chest. "Answer the gentleman's question."
The pain from the severed finger was unimaginable. "I'll talk! It was Ms. Brielle. I was just outside handling the registry at the time. After the child was taken from the doctor, Ms. Brielle didn't even look at it. I was told to dispose of it in the dumpster. That's all I know. Ms. Brielle paid me off. I contacted the female doctor today because something seemed off, so I called Ms. Brielle."
The man was nearly passing out by the end of his confession. King's suspicions were confirmed. But the matter of the birth control device must have been someone else's doing without Brielle's consent. He was enveloped in darkness, rage simmering. "Take him away for further questioning."
Joseph dragged the man out where
security was waiting. They were well-versed in handling such matters. Returning to the living room, Joseph found King lost in thought, a troubled look on his face, and couldn't help but speak up.
"Sir, I visited Myles, found the place empty. I checked all nearby surveillance, but the footage had been tampered with. Whoever's behind this was prepared."
Having nurtured a shadow for so long, only for it to seek the spotlight. King scoffed, "Hmm."
No need to guess, it was linked to the Lynch family's butler, a flicker of malice crossing his features. "Find Ronald. I'm tired of this game. It's time he revealed the other pawns in play, settle this." "Understood."
King massaged his temples, his thoughts returning to Brielle upstairs, his chest tightening. "Ronald's a small fry, be careful."
For the first time, King advised
Joseph to be cautious. He had never cared about their lives before, maybe not even his own. Joseph
realized then; perhaps King had net
changed. Was it because of Ms. Brielle? Yet he dared not speak word in Brielle's defense. She was King's Achilles' heel.
