Emma had never been much of a movie watcher. Living in a secluded village, devoid of posters and without a TV at home, she was oblivious to the world of celebrities. But she could sense the strong presence of this group.

Backing down now would mean she'd lose her chance to confront Dustin personally after her long journey back to the mountains. From the moment she boarded the train to Beaconsfield, Emma knew she had to abandon her principles of decorum and integrity. "Dustin?" Aubree, breaking away from Andrew, approached Emma. Even before her celebrity days, Aubree had an undeniable aura. Now, after extensive training with her coach, that aura was even more formidable, causing Emma to involuntarily step back as she approached.

Normally, Aubree wouldn't bother with such matters, but considering Dustin's notorious flirtations, it wasn't beyond him to have stirred up some trouble. Women understand each other, and Emma's eyes betrayed her urgency and panic.

Stranded in an unfamiliar place, penniless, and without even the fare to return home, engulfed in darkness with no glimpse of the future, Emma was genuinely terrified. This being her first venture so far from home, she was understandably shaken. "You're saying you're carrying Dustin's child?" Aubree asked. Emma nodded, her lashes drooping. "Yes."

"How can you prove it?" Aubree continued. After all, women clamoring for Dustin's attention were a dime a dozen, each could easily claim to be carrying his child.

Aubree was only indulging this conversation for Brielle's sake, her best friend and Dustin's sister. If a child of the Lynch bloodline was indeed out there, it was a responsibility too great for anyone to bear lightly.

Emma was nervous. Her interaction with others had been minimal, limited to her ability to gather herbs in her village. Now, faced with a glamorous woman, she felt utterly out of place. The stigma of being pregnant out of wedlock, coupled with the secrecy from her mother, weighed heavily on her. If her secret were out, she'd be the talk of the town, and not in a good way.

Aubree, sensing Emma's distress,

softened her tone. "Don't worry. If you really are carrying Dustin's child, you'd have met him by now. His

charm is undeniable, and womemet

line up for a chance with him every day need to know if what you're saying is true to help you. Dustin's sister is my best friend, so if you're truly looking for him, you've come to the right person."

Those words were a glimmer of hope in the darkness for Emma. Eagerly lifting her gaze, but then remembering she needed proof, her head drooped again, her lips quivering. "I...I don't have anything to prove it. I just thought...maybe he wouldn't want to abandon his child. My family cannot afford to raise it, but I didn't want to decide its fate alone. If he's willing to care for the child, I'm ready to go back, have the baby, and then...hand it over to him."

The words were difficult to utter, and she dared not meet Aubree's gaze. For the first time stepping out of her secluded world, and facing such a formidable woman, Emma felt small and timid, though not envious.

"How do you know the man you spent the night with is Dustin if you can't prove it?" Aubree pressed. Was this the tale of an innocent girl deceived by a scoundrel masquerading as Dustin, now terrified as she faced the consequences?

"I only know his name and face. He was injured at the time, his memory a bit muddled and not very coherent. Later, a group of people found us and took him away, leaving me twenty thousand dollars."

Hearing about the injury, Aubree recalled Dustin indeed had disappeared for a while. She pulled up a news article about Dustin and showed Emma his photo. "Is this him?"

Emma's pupils dilated, staring at the photo. There was Dustin, attending a gala, mingling among the elite with a glass of red wine in hand, his smile captivating. Dressed impeccably, he looked right at home in a world Emma couldn't even dream of. Her hopeful eyes dimmed at that moment. So, he truly belonged to the heavens.

"This is Dustin, topping the world's richest lists, CEO of a leading diamond company. You're saying you're carrying his child?" Aubree's tone held no mockery, only a reality check of Emma was lying,

needed to understand the

consequences. After alle

the child

was indeed Dustin's, it would

undoubtedly trigger a storm among the powerful.
