Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 1169
"The location of this base is pretty genius, tucked right where three countries meet. No one dares to drop a bomb here," Dustin said with a hint of sarcasm, turning to give orders to his team.
"Make sure they memorize those routes. That way, no matter which side runs into them first, they can get backup quickly."
There was no time to waste. Since the other side hadn't yet used his mother and sister as leverage, it was time to strike and see what the situation was. If something happened to his mother and sister, then that place wouldn't need to exist anymore. Over a hundred people who had been seated now stood up, ready to depart. Countless helicopters were parked at a private airfield not far from the castle, taking off one after another.
King held Isaac close, feeling uneasy. After a while, when he saw Dustin approaching, he put Isaac down.
"Buddy, you stay here and wait for daddy to come back, okay? Be good. Noir will stay with you. We'll be back in no more than two days."
Isaac didn't say anything, just looked up at King. King sighed and crouched down, gently stroking his head.
"You know you can't come. It's too dangerous this time."
Isaac nodded, finally managing to say, "Come back soon."
King nodded, playfully scruffing Isaac's nose. "It's late, go to sleep with Noir."
Isaac went upstairs with Noir, looking back every few steps. Only when the child's figure had disappeared did King turn coldly and follow Dustin to the waiting helicopters.
Dustin's expression was even colder than King's. After all, King had been through conflicts in places like Saudi Arabia and was used to gunfire and violence, to paving his way with the bodies of others. Moreover, he had always been keen on removing obstacles for Max, replaceing killing to be all too easy.
Dustin, although having fought vicious battles in the business world, faced a different kind of war, one without visible bloodshed and sacrifice. The night was destined to be restless, with inevitable losses on both sides. To get his mother and sister back, Dustin was willing to go to such lengths.
The helicopters took off with a roar. The castle estate was so vast that even the simultaneous departure of many helicopters didn't stir any public discussion-they were simply out of sight. The specifics of the base's location were already in everyone's hands.
Dustin assembled his gun on the flight, noticing King had already prepared his, a deep concern in his eyes.
"Little guy will be fine. I've got a feeling that the organization's actions this time are a bit odd."
"I know. It's like they're waiting for an opportunity for destruction."
Since the organization's existence was to collude with the North American royalty in secret, as long as they didn't cause trouble, the royalty would keep them safe in the shadows. Decades of planning had been endured. The very existence of that place was to gather a bunch of desperadoes to do dirty work in exchange for money, under the guise of serving a noble cause.
Their failed attempts at securing diamonds and oil didn't stop them from continuing their existence there. Continuing to brainwash followers in the name of Jesus. But why the sudden change of heart this time? What was the new leader up to, and what was his end goal?
The uncertainty was unsettling.
The first wave of helicopters had just landed at the mountain base when explosions suddenly erupted from the ground. Dustin and King's eyelashes trembled simultaneously in disbelief as they looked down. The first few helicopters to descend were instantly turned into wreckage by the unexpected explosion.
An explosion in such a tri-border area would attract the attention of several countries. Was the organization aiming to provoke an international manhunt?
Dustin squinted his eyes, but at this
point, there was no turning back for
anyone. And this wasn't their fault. Arthur had intended to use them to eliminate Irene and pin all the blame on her. But it seemed Irene had anticipated this move, choosing to self-destruct first and draw the attention of several countries. Border explosions meant the military forces of the countries involved would soon arrive.
"King! Hurry!"
Going up against three major powers, no matter how skilled they were, would be suicidal.
