Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) -
Chapter 1180
Brielle's head was pounding before she even opened her eyes. Seeing him there just made her headache worse. She didn't say a word, just curled her fingertips slightly.
King noticed her movement and quickly set down the nail clippers. "Brielle, you're awake? How's the pain?"
He leaned in closer, perching on the edge of her hospital bed.
Brielle was still hooked up to an IV, but at least she didn't look as pale as before. She glared at the oblivious man beside her and frowned. "Move."
Her voice was soft, but her face went even paler.
King felt a chill run through him, his eyes reddening. Of course, when she called his name, it was only because she didn't want Max's body to die. Otherwise, her Max wouldn't come back.
He pursed his lips as he heard her speak again. "If you don't move, I'm really going to die. You're sitting on my IV tube."
King, who had never cared for anyone before, hadn't noticed the IV tube. Seeing blood flowing back into it, he quickly moved aside, settling back into the chair with a sigh of relief.
Brielle glanced around, noticing the room was empty.
"They all went to rest. Mom and Dad have been here for two days straight. Mom was previously detained at the base and isn't in great shape, so I stayed here waiting for you. Your brother Dustin got some minor injuries, but the Lynch family needs him for some cleanup, so he's busy."
Brielle breathed a sigh of relief. Everyone was still around, which was good.
She turned to King. "What about you? Are you hurt?"
She didn't notice his use of "Mom and Dad," so she didn't correct him.
King smiled slightly. "No, just some scrapes on my back from blocking that tree, but I've applied some ointment. It's nothing serious."
Brielle finally relaxed completely. She wanted to ask about Myles, Kenzo, and Jaired, but just thinking of them made her complexion sour.
She and Kenzo had already settled
their differences. He didn't cut her tongue, but he did have her captured putting her in danger. She owed him nothing. The rock, she had blocked it herself, owing him nothing as well. So whether he was dead or alive, she felt no burden in her heart.
As for Myles, for some reason, when Myles was about to hypnotize her, she had a strong resonance in her mind.
She raised her hand to massage her temples, and King, thinking her head hurt, quickly reached out to rub her temples for her. "How does it feel?"
"Like my head's going to explode. Feels like there's some strange memory, but I can't see the faces clearly. Probably need to rest up to remember." She responded without thinking, not noticing King's body stiffen.
Brielle, her headache intensifying, closed her eyes again. Before drifting off, she asked, "How's Jaired?"
She still didn't know why Jaired was working for that organization.
"I'm not sure," King replied, watching her face and quietly taking her hand into his.
In the evening, Brielle said she wanted to go back. Since she didn't specify where, King, selfishly, took her to the castle.
Entering the castle, Brielle frowned. King, always observant of her expressions, saw this and his face instantly changed.
"Maybe we should stay at the villa we were at before. This castle feels too large, too empty for just a few of us." Brielle just massaged her temples, the feeling of familiarity rushing back even stronger.
set
Just as King was about to speak again, Isaac came downstairs with Noir. Seeing Brielle, his eyes lit
tup, but then dimmed quickly. "Brielle, you're okay, that's good."
Despite her headache, Brielle quickly walked over and lifted him up in a hug. "Little buddy, I'm so glad you're okay I was scared to death that day."
Isaac, held in her arms, blushed, turning his head away. "Mhm."
Brielle kissed his cheek twice, but Isaac was then taken by King. "You're still healing."
Brielle had to let go, sighing with a hint of regret.
