Mine: His Caged Princess -
Chapter 80
“Why didn’t you control your Lycan?” She complained after enjoying kissing him for more than a minute.
“Don’t complain. You’re reaping what you sow. I warned you not to involve him in all this. Now, you can’t expect a beast to behave like a gentleman after tasting you because he is not me.”
“I… uuhh…” Tiara didn’t know what to say. Moreover, she didn’t miss that Wylder was stern, not gentle, and soft as usual. “Thank you for coming.” She said it with a smile, changing the topic.
“Hmm”
“Come, I’ll order our favorite food tonight.” She said, acting like nothing happened back then, but she knew that she had to apologize. Generally, she used to get mad, and he used to pamper her, but this time, the roles had been reversed.
Tiara stepped towards him to grab his hand when he stepped backward.
“Please, don’t. I have narrowed my mentality; who knows, I will assume things?” He muttered, walking towards the dining table on his own.
‘Damnit!’ She cursed her mentality and followed him. Unlike her, Wylder didn’t have the habit of breaking things or hitting people in anger.
They silently ate their dinner. Tiara kept looking at him, but he didn’t look at her even once. Wylder knew she was watching him, but he didn’t lift his head and kept his focus on the food.
“I’m sorry, Wild. I didn’t mean those words to you. I mean, you’re not a narrow-minded person.” She spoke softly.
Silence.
He was still busy eating his dinner.
“I’m sorry! Please forgive me.” She spoke again. “Let’s do one thing. You can also say mean things to me, and in that way, we can settle the score.” She suggested it, but she knew that he would never do that. She resumed eating her salad and started thinking of ways to convince him to talk to her. She had never done this before.
Finishing her dinner, she left the table to get a knife from the kitchen. “If you won’t talk to me, then I will cut my wrist.” She threatened.
Wylder finally lifted his head and looked at her casually. “Really?”
“Really?” Tiara said, placing a sharp knife at her wrist.
“Out of all ways to convince me, you came up with this plan?” Wylder asked in surprise.
“I’m not PRO like you. Moreover, I’m doing this for the first time because you never used to get mad at me.” Tiara said. She wouldn’t have given a damn if someone else had been at his place. She had lost a lot of friends because of her big, fat ego because she didn’t apologize first.
“Go ahead. Cut your wrist.” Wylder said, ignoring her threat because he knew that Tiara loved herself a lot. There was no way she would hurt herself. The next thing he knew, there was a knife at his neck.
“Will you talk to me or not?” She threatened him. “Talk or I will cut your throat.”
Seriously?
“So, Wylder Adan Miller, will you talk to me or not? Say no, and I will make sure that you will greet Selene next.”
“NO.” A moment later, Wylder smelled his b***d oozing out of his throat. Tiara had cut his throat a little. Both were looking into each other’s eyes. Wylder promised himself that he would submit to her threat or her demand because if he did, she would repeat the same thing again and again.
“Please talk to me,” she requested, throwing the knife at the table and then holding her ears. “Please, Wild.”
A smile appeared on his lips. “Fine. Let me finish my dinner.” Tiara smiled widely and sat beside him, watching him finish his dinner.
His diet was triple the amount that any normal person could eat, so she let him eat peacefully.
“That night, I didn’t mean to end our friendship, you know,” Tiara spoke. “But then I can understand that you might have misunderstood my words.” She added, speaking these lines to herself.
“By the way, didn’t you miss your best friend even once?” Wylder didn’t miss noticing that she had used the best friend word.
“I did.”
“Then why didn’t you ever try to contact me? You don’t have an ego like me.”
“True. I have never put my ego over my relationship, and I will never do anything that stupid. That was why I used to stay around you through my magic. I can control and travel in the air, remember?”
“Then why didn’t you ever talk to me?”
“Because I was hurt, Ara. You called me narrow-minded that night to escape the conversation, but the truth is that you’ve started liking me even though you don’t want to.”
“I don’t want to talk about it.” Tiara quickly shut down that topic. Wylder took a deep breath and agreed. “I called you here so that I could tell you that I still want to be your best friend, Wild. But nothing more than that.”
In the next second, Wylder pulled her chair away, bringing her close to him.
“Nothing more than that?” Wylder asked, staring right into her green eyes.
Tiara didn’t answer him and looked away.
“I don’t want to hurt you, Wild. I don’t want to break you the way Dad broke Mom when he asked him to leave. I’m scared that I will do the same with you and end up breaking you in the worst way possible.” She spoke without making eye contact.
Wylder’s jaw clenched, hearing her say that if Tiara had been a guy, he would have thrown a punch at her by now.
“Don’t you think that I should get that chance to make that decision? And the reason you mention before, in that case, I will blame myself instead of you,” Wylder spoke.
“You don’t understand, Wild. It will be better if you get over your little infatuation as soon as possible.”
“Infatuation?” Wylder asked, cutting her in between. “This is what you have been thinking about my feelings for you? Infatuation?” he asked in disbelief. But how could he blame her for this misunderstanding when he never told her his feelings?
‘Say it!’ Night growled.
“I’ve been in f*****g love with you for my whole life, Ara.” He finally confessed. “I’m in love with you, Ara. whole, painful, true love. The kind of love that burns so intensely that it feels like an explosion of fireworks in my body The love leaves me sleepless but exhilarated, speechless but poetic, lost but exactly where I meant to be. The feel so much you get scared of love kind of love The can’t sleep, can’t breathe, can’t eat kind of love The love that I didn’t know I was capable of until I fell for you.”
Tiara’s breath hitched upon hearing his confession.
