“Are we ready for daycare?” I look over at Cici as I rinse off my hands. “We are going to have a good day and not get sick, right?” I grab the dish towel and dry my hands off, while I look over and see Levi coming down the stairs dressed in a suit. I swallow back the lump that forms as I watch him.

“Okay, I’m out,” he announces, rounding the staircase and coming over to us. I avoid looking at him because, how the fuck do you look at someone who you literally dry humped in the middle of the night? “Did you check her temperature this morning?” he asks.

“I did.” I nod, mistakenly looking at him. The minute I do, I swear to everything my pussy contracts. He’s wearing a black suit that I know is custom-made because I had to drive him once to get fitted for it. The suit is paired with a charcoal shirt and a black tie, which means he looks fucking hot. Of course, I know now what his dick feels like, so my eyes automatically go where they shouldn’t before I feel my cheeks getting hot. “No fever.”

“Woo-hoo.” He puts his hands in the air, one empty and the other holding his jacket. “That means it’s going to be a good day.”

He walks to the kitchen sink at the same time I move over to Cici and take her out of her high chair. “We should get you changed,” I whisper to her, and in the corner of my eye I see him coming to us. I literally, no word of a lie, hold my motherfucking breath.

“See you tonight,” he says, leaning down and kissing Cici on the cheek. I think I’m in the clear, but I’m not that lucky. “Have a good day.” He looks at me and kisses me on the lips before walking out the door.

I stay here stuck in the middle of the kitchen, my lips still tingling from his kiss. My heart races in my chest, while my stomach feels like it’s going to come out of my mouth. I look over at Cici shocked, replaceing her staring at me and I swear if I didn’t know better, I would think she is leering. “Don’t look at me like that,” I chide her, “things are a bit…” I walk to the stairs. “What did you think was going to happen after you came on his fingers?” I mumble to myself. “It’s a bit blurry but it’ll be fine. Everything is going to be fine.” I look down at Cici. “It’s fine.”

I get Cici to daycare before walking into work. Smiling at everyone, I pretend it’s just another day in the office, when it’s not. Nothing is like any other day because last night, in the middle of the night, I had a kiss that is—hands down—the kiss to end all kisses. It’s at this moment that I would pick up the phone and call Levi to discuss it with him, but I can’t.

I’m sitting at my desk, leaning back in my chair with my eyes closed, but that doesn’t help. All I can see is Levi’s face right before he came. My phone rings, making me jump when I think it’s him and he caught me thinking about him. I look down, seeing it’s Addison.

“Hello,” I answer, trying to sound like I didn’t get finger-banged last night. “How are you?”

“Why are you so weird?” she asks right away. “Is everything okay?”

“Of course it is.” I chuckle so fake even I secretly cringe. I hear the ringing and look down at my phone. “Are you FaceTiming me?”

“Yes,” she confirms, “answer.”

I swallow down and take a deep breath before I press the connect button. “Game face,” I tell myself as the white circle goes round and round when it says connecting. “Good morning.” I smile into the camera as Addison’s face comes into view.

“Good morning to you,” she greets and then I hear “Good morning” being chanted from behind her. “I’m here with the girls,” she explains, extending her hand so I can see them all sitting around a table.

“Hi, guys.” I wave my hand, knowing I’m totally being so fake right now.

“Before we get to why you look all pent up with sexual frustration,” Clarabella starts. “How is everything?”

“Everything is amazing,” I chirp, the smile not leaving my face. “I’m fine, Cici is fine. We are all fine.”

“Oh, my,” Addison states, “you look like you are about to cry.”

“I was going to say burst.” All eyes turn toward Shelby. “You know those cartoons where the person is like, I’m fine, but inside they are like shaking and their head is going to explode, that is how she looks.” I gasp. “But you look amazing.”

“Nice save,” Shelby notes. “How is married life?”

“Married life is married life.” I shrug my shoulders. “It’s fine.”

“Where do you sleep?” Presley taps the table in front of her, hiding her smirk.

“Well, I only have one bed,” I admit to them, trying to pretend it’s fine. “How is everything on your side?”

“Oh, deflection,” Sofia points out. “That means there is something there.”

“Is there?” Addison asks, her eyes big.

“No, there is nothing there.” I shake my head back and forth quickly.

“Is he packing?” Clarabella asks me, and if I could kick my own ass, I would, because the minute she says that, I feel my face flare up.

“Oh my God!” Addison says, pointing at me at the same time putting a hand to her mouth. “You had sex with him.”

I slap my desk. “I did not!” I deny. “We did not have sex.”

“Okay,” Shelby questions, “do you sleep in the same bed as him?”

“That’s the worst question of life,” Presley declares. “You sound like Amber Heard’s lawyers.” She laughs. “Did you drink a mega pint of beer?” She imitates the lawyer.

“I think they even objected to themselves; it was not a good day for her.” Clarabella shakes her head.

“Okay, let me do this,” Sofia urges. “Have you kissed him?”

“Oh, good question.” Addison points at her.

“We kiss all the time.” I roll my eyes.

“With tongue?” Sofia adds and now I glare at her. “That’s a yes.”

“You kissed him.” Addison slaps the desk. “With tongue, that is, like, big.”

“It’s a kiss.” I try not to make it seem like it’s a big deal, because it’s not. “It’s just a kiss.” I reiterate, again my voice going up a touch. “It’s just a measly little kiss.” A squeal comes out.

“Oh, my,” Shelby cautions, “she’s about to blow.”

“How big is his dick?” Clarabella now sticks her face into the phone. “And you can’t lie. You’re under oath.”

“No more court television for you,” Presley hisses at her. “Now answer her question.”

“We were both tired,” I start to say. “It was a long day. Cici was sick and didn’t sleep. We didn’t sleep. She then threw up on me.” I don’t even give them a second. “Then I woke up and my ass was all over him.”

“Yes, girl.” Clarabella winks at me. “Proceed.”

“And then the barrier I made in the middle was gone, I don’t even know where it went.”

“His dick cut through it.” Presley snickers.

“And then I wake up and I’m dry humping him.” My face goes close up to the camera.

“Did you guys?” Addison asks softly.

“No.” I shake my head. “I woke up and I was in his arms and his hands were on my ass.” They all nod like yes. “And then his lips were on mine.”

“OHH,” they all sing out.

“And he was kissing me and I was kissing him back—” I start to say but I’m interrupted by Addison.

“Was it weird,” she asks, “kissing your best friend?”

“No,” I admit and feel like I want to hit my head on the desk. “I feel like it should be, but it wasn’t. It wasn’t at all, it was all—” My arms extend beside me. “It was all tongue.” My stomach gets fucking flutters. “It was—” I try to think of words but can’t.

“It was hot.” Sofia helps me out. “So you guys just kissed?”

Say no, my head yells, say no, but instead, I just shake my head. “He got me off using his fingers,” I mumble, “while I—”

“Held his pole.” Shelby laughs.

“Is he big?” Clarabella asks. “He has to be big; he looks like one of those European men. You know, like the hot guy from that movie. I think he’s Italian.”

“What?” Addison and I both say at the same time.

“What?” Clarabella reacts. “You trying to tell me Stefano isn’t packing heat?” Addison doesn’t say anything. “Exactly. You think your father-in-law isn’t packing heat?”

“He’s one thousand percent packing something, that man is fine,” Clarabella swoons, and Addison looks like she is going to vomit. “He is so fine. Vivienne…” She shakes her head. “It’s not any woman who can keep that man, but her. She must do all the things.”

“She’s French,” Shelby explains, “they are more open about their sexuality than the rest of the world.”

“Excuse me, I would like to never discuss what my in-laws do,” Addison declares, “like never again.”

“I agree with her.” I hold up my hand.

“Yes, can we circle back to Levi and Eva?” Addison directs.

“Oh, I have a question,” Shelby says. “If you did have sex with him, would you be walking normal this morning?”

“Oh, that’s a good one.” Clarabella points her pen toward her. “Sneaky also.”

“All I’m going to say is that I get the hype now.” I close my eyes. “I was all like, why do these girls all come back and beg for more?” My stomach that was fluttering less than a minute ago is now burning. “I have no doubt if I wanted him to do me hard, I would have trouble sitting the next day. I would feel him for days.”

“You need to get yourself some of that,” Sofia encourages. “Trust me, the more you fight it, the harder it’s going to be.”

“Oh, that was a good one.” Clarabella snorts. “The more you fight it, the harder he’s going to do you. If you are lucky, he’s going to snap—and boom—Pound Town all over the kitchen table.”

“This is why we don’t eat at your house,” Shelby deadpans, “this right here.”

“Guys,” I finally say softly. “This can’t happen. He’s the best friend I’ve ever had and I can’t do that to him.”

“Maybe it was just meant to happen,” Shelby says. “Look at Ace and me. Best friends for so long and then, boom. You’re about to walk down the aisle with another man to replace out he’s cheating on you and then you’re on your honeymoon with your best friend.” I smile. “Best thing I ever did.”

“Oh, we know, you keep saying it all the time,” the girls all say.

“Remember that butt dial once?” Clarabella reminds us. “Always you,” she moans. “Good God, I wore earplugs for a month.”

“All I’m going to say is,” Addison interjects, “everything happens for a reason.”

I think about her words, and when I get buzzed that my client is here, I sign off with them by blowing them kisses. I take off my necklace and then my ring, slipping it on the chain and then putting it back on my neck before I walk out and start the day.

Time flies by with my appointments being back-to-back, since I missed a day. I don’t have time to do anything, let alone eat. So when I get Cici and I walk into the house, my feet are throbbing. My head is aching, my stomach is making all sorts of noise, and the only thing I actually want is a nice glass of wine. I swear my mouth drools when I put Cici on her mat in the living room before walking over to the kitchen and dumping our bags. Pulling open the fridge, I grab a half-empty bottle of wine. “You know what the best thing is?” I look over at Cici, who is playing with one of her teethers. “That first sip.” I pour myself a glass and then take that first sip. “Delicious.”

I take another sip when the front door opens. “Hello,” he greets, and Cici turns her head toward his voice and gets all excited, making me roll my eyes. “There she is.” He doesn’t even take off his jacket before he walks over to her and picks her up. “How was your day?” he asks, burying his face in her neck before turning my way. His smile is still on his face, but his eyes light up just a touch more. “Is this a party?” He looks at me and to the glass of wine.

“Nope.” I finish the glass. “It’s just been a day.”

“Yeah,” he agrees, walking into the kitchen. “Do you want me to handle dinner?”

No, my head screams, I want you to get your ass over here and kiss me and maybe, perhaps, eat me for dinner. “Sure,” I answer quickly before I word vomit all my thoughts. “I’ll handle Cici, you order me a burger.”

I walk over to the freezer and look at the choices. “What do you want? Some pasta or grilled chicken with peas and carrots?”

“Say pasta,” Levi urges, making me laugh, “say pasta.”

“Pasta it is,” I say, taking it out. He looks over at me and smirks, and the whole night is spent with us laughing and almost tippy-toeing around each other. When I’m at the sink, he walks over and gently touches my lower back. When I sit down and he has to get up to get something, he touches my shoulder lightly. It’s got me on the fucking edge, and when I finally get Cici down, he’s coming out of the shower.

“She down?” he asks, but all I can focus on is the two little drops of water that have fallen from his hair onto his chest. All I want to do is lean forward and lick him, fucking lick him.

“Yeah,” I reply, avoiding looking at his eyes, because I’m pretty sure I’m blushing again and he hasn’t said a word. “I’m going to get in the shower.”

He nods at me and I’d be lying if I said I don’t spend extra time in there. When I finally walk out, the lights are off in the room and he’s sleeping with his back to me.
