Chapter 23

Realizing Kila was already beginning to test Hymes, Giselle grew a bit nervous.

Giselle and Hymes got married on a whim. It was understandable that Giselle had a lot of questions.

She could have asked him herself, but she couldn’t bring herself to do it for some reason.

We haven’t. I don’t think Gigi is ready for my parents. But if she wants, we can visit them at any time.

Kila cast a funny look at Giselle.

The latter blushed a little when she heard Hymes call her Gigi again.

She hurried to interrupt, We’ll talk about it later.

Hymes was right. Giselle wasn’t ready for his parents yet.

They just got married, and Giselle had no idea how things would go and end. She didn’t know what to expect from this marriage.

Therefore, it was best if they didn’t get too involved with each other’s private lives before figuring everything out.

Giselle agreed with what Hymes said when they dated that day.

Kila couldn’t understand. She pursued the topic, You guys are married, and your parents didn’t even know about it?

I told my parents about it.”

Hymes replied calmly, They wanted to meet Gigi as soon as possible, but I’ve been looking for a perfect occasion. So I delayed the meeting.

Giselle’s heart raced. Hymesparents already knew they were married.

Giselle, your husband already told his parents about you two. When are you going to tell yours?

L. I’m not ready yet. Hymesparents had been urging him to marry long ago. Now that he’s married, his parents wouldn’t have to worry about that anymore.

A complicated look flashed upon Hymeseyes but disappeared quickly. He smiled and said, It’s okay. You can tell your parents when you are ready.”

Hymes looked at Giselle affectionately as he spoke, which gave Kila goosebumps.

<Look at those eyes, so bewitching.

Does he always look at people this way? Or is it a unique look he only has for Giselle?> Kila wondered.

Noticing Giselle was a bit abashed, Kila spoke to distract Hymes, I heard you have moved in with Gigi. I remember she said you were a local here. Why didn’t you live with your parents?

Hymes said casually, I left my parent’s house when I could earn money, and I like living alone.

I see. You are local. Your parents must own a house.

Hymes said smilingly, Yes, they do have a house, but I don’t think it’s a good idea to live with my parents after marriage.

I understand. Living with them may cause quite some problems.

Giselle was relieved when she heard Hymesopinion of living with his parents. She was glad Hymes would spare her the trouble of living with seniors if their marriage would last.

When will you buy your own house? It’s getting more and more expensive every year. You may not afford it if you wait too long.

I’ve made plans about it.

Giselle was worried that Hymes might get annoyed by all Kila’s questions. But Hymes didn’t seem bothered.

Giselle began to signal Kila to stop asking.

However, Kila didn’t seem to have noticed Giselle’s signal. She continued, You guys got married on a whim, and you didn’t give Gigi a proper wedding. Have you ever thought about your future?

Hymes turned to look at Giselle.

The latter looked agitated.

Hymes smiled and answered, You are right. Gigi deserves a proper wedding. I’ll give her one when she is ready.

That was clever. Kila couldn’t replace any problem with Hymesanswers.

She was impressed by how eloquent and quickwitted Hymes was. He must be a hell of an insurance broker.

If a lawyer like Kila couldn’t even replace any fault in Hymeslogic, the latter must be either highly wily or truly honest.

Kila would have never thought that the man before her was indeed a wily man. But he was being honest that day.

Alright. That’s enough talking.

Giselle interrupted, Let’s order some food.

Sure. Let your husband do it.

She handed the menu to Hymes, who browsed it and began to order.

He ordered both meat and vegetable dishes in various flavors. Kila estimated the total cost secretly and decided Hymes was not a cheap man.

Kila knew many men who treated her with expensive dinners but tried to split the check with her when they finished eating. Therefore, Kila hated men

for that.

She would love to split the check if the men made it clear in the beginning. She just didn’t like it when they pretended to be generous.

Hymes didn’t seem to be that kind of man. Kila felt happy for Giselle.

How was your day?Hymes poured a cup of coffee for Giselle and asked softly.

It was okay, a bit tired.

Giselle couldn’t help but complain about her work. She said with a tired tone, Sometimes, I just want to quit it and never go to work again.

She did feel like quitting occasionally, but she didn’t mean to do it.

Giselle loved her job post of the time. As she finished speaking, Hymes said without hesitation, You can quit your job if you don’t like it. Take some time

to have a rest.

How is she going to live if she stops working? Her job is demanding, but she can earn much from it.

Kila winked at Giselle.

The latter knew what Kila was getting at. Giselle was about to change the subject when she heard Hymes saying, I’ll support her.”

“I thought you guys agreed to remain financially independent of each other after getting married. She couldn’t use your money.

Giselle didn’t care about money.

Chapter 23

The reason why she married Hymes without hesitation was that they signed the prenup. Giselle had never thought of coveting Hymesproperties and

wouldn’t let him covet hers.

She didn’t know Hymes well. She sure should sign that prenup.

Giselle was sure that Hymes wouldn’t go after her money after she married him and learned a bit about him.

A man who could afford to buy her a diamond ring worth twenty grand and replace her old airconditioner with a new expensive one wouldn’t be cheap, even if he weren’t wealthy.

Hymes smiled and said, Well, we can always change rules. I’m not that stingy.

Kila was about to ask more questions when her eyes landed on Giselle’s diamond ring.

DidHymes buy that ring for you?

She was shocked.

Yes.

Giselle was a bit embarrassed.

Kila knew how expensive a Tiffany diamond was. She asked Hymes astonishingly, How much do you make per month?
