Chapter 79

Giselle grinned at Hymes. “You’ve been waiting a while, huh?”

“Not too long.” Hymes replied. His voice was deep but incredibly gentle.

Natasha cagerly reached out. “Hi there, Hymes.”

This greeting made Hymes raise his eyebrows slightly.

Yet, Natasha simply smiled innocently.

Giselle introduced Natasha. “She is an Internet celebrity under me, Natasha Gibson. She’s here today for a promotional photo shoot.”

Hymes glanced at the expectant grin on Natasha’s face and gave a slight nod. “Hello.”

He didn’t extend his hand to shake hers, maintaining a polite but distant demeanor.

Natasha’s smile faded for a moment, but she quickly recovered and casually remarked, “Giselle, your husband is so handsome! Everyone has been talking about him!”

Giselle laughed lightly. “See, everyone’s saying you’re handsome. You’ll think I’m out of your league soon.”

Hymes wrapped his arms around Giselle. “Never. I tried everything to get you to marry me. How could it be considered you being out of my league?”

Natasha curiously asked. “Why does Hymes say that? Weren’t you and Giselle a whirlwind marriage?”

Hymes just smiled, while Giselle playfully nudged him in the chest. “He’s talking nonsense. Don’t take it seriously.”

“Oh… Giselle, can I treat you and Hymes to dinner tonight? Since you brought me on, I haven’t properly taken you out yet. I feel kind of bad!”

“What’s the big deal? You haven’t made a name for yourself yet. When you have millions of fans like Oscar, you can take me

out then.”

“Let me treat you to dinner in advance. It shows my gratitude. What do you say, Giselle?”

As the others gradually left, Giselle hesitated. It wasn’t that she couldn’t accept the dinner invitation.

But to bring Hymes along…

Giselle asked directly, “What about you? Do you have time to join us for dinner?”

“Either way is fine. You decide.”

After some thought, Giselle agreed.

Natasha cheered excitedly, “I’ll reserve a table right away! I know a great place!”

On the way there, they naturally rode in Hymes‘ car. Before getting in, Natasha hesitated.

Giselle looked at her. “What’s wrong?”

“Giselle…” Natasha said uncomfortably, “I get a little carsick. Can I sit in the front passenger seat?”

Natasha seemed genuinely embarrassed.

Giselle didn’t know about her carsickness and didn’t think much of it. “Sure, go ahead.”

Chapter 79

Natasha’s face lit up immediately. “Thank you, Giselle! You’re so kind!”

Natasha quickly got into the car, buckled her seatbelt in the front passenger seat, and gave Hymes a gentle smile. “You don’t mind, do you, Hymes?”

Hymes casually glanced at her and shifted his gaze. “This is Gigi’s designated seat. I don’t mind who she lets sit here.”

At that moment, Natasha noticed the words written on the passenger side of the car and her expression changed. “Hymes, you treat Giselle so well. It’s really enviable. You two have been married for such a short time, but you’re so sweet and loving, like an old married couple!”

Giselle, leaning on the back seat, shook her head with a light smile. “You’re exaggerating, aren’t you?”

“Am I? I’ve heard that Hymes treats you so well, bringing you meals every day and buying you such an expensive ring! This car seems pretty nice too…”

Natasha’s eyes and gestures revealed an innocent charm, which wasn’t annoying at all.

She was still quite young, fitting for her age.

Giselle calmly advised Natasha, “You’re still young. Don’t just focus on dating and don’t let love cloud your judgment, or else you might get into trouble with bad guys, and I’ll have to clean up the mess for you.”

Warnings still had to be given.

“If you want to be an Internet celebrity, you’ll have a chance to reach higher platforms later on. Some people from our company started as Internet celebrities, and now they’re collaborating with top singers…”

“So you have a chance to climb up, but at this stage, your image is very important, understand?

Having said so much, Giselle wasn’t sure if Natasha was actually listening.

However, Natasha nodded. “Don’t worry, Giselle. I’ll work hard.”

That night, they ate at restaurant. Natasha insisted on paying the bill, but Giselle didn’t want her to pay right away, so she secretly paid the bill herself.

When Natasha left, she playfully said, “Giselle, next time I’ll treat you and Hymes to dinner. Today, you treated me…”

“No need to be so polite. Just get home quickly, and remember to film the video for me tomorrow.”

“Got it. Goodbye, Hymes!”

Natasha stared at Hymes, her eyeliner accentuating the upward curve of her eyes.

Her eye shape was quite alluring.

Unfortunately, Hymes remained calm and collected, not showing any change in his demeanor.

His tone was particularly distant. “Goodbye.”

On the way home, Giselle took her usual seat in the passenger side. After Natasha had sat there, though, a lingering scent of her perfume remained.

It was a sweet, fruity fragrance that was a bit overwhelming. She opened the car window to dispel the smell. “Natasha may be young, but she’s quite cunning. She’s actually quite suited for this industry.”

Hymes glanced at Giselle. “Girls like her demand a lot and can’t be easily satisfied. You should be cautious when working

with her.”

“Don’t worry. I’ve been doing this job for a while. I’ll be careful.”

Hymes continued watching the traffic ahead, not saying anything further.

When Giselle went to pay the bill earlier, Natasha had tried to get closer to Hymes and even asked for his personal contact information, but he had calmly refused.

He had seen many girls like her.

If possible. Hymes would prefer not to have cunning girls working with Giselle.

But Giselle felt responsible for Natasha and wouldn’t easily give up on her unless Natasha did something seriously wrong.

So Hymes had to pretend he knew nothing.

Two days later, Jenny, who had taken a leave of absence, finally returned to the company.

After returning, Giselle seemed quiet. At lunchtime, she overheard her colleagues discussing something in the resting area.

“Did you all see the news? Jenny’s family auctioned off several of their properties!”

“What’s going on?”

“I don’t know, but I heard that those properties were originally meant for building hotels. I have no idea why they were all auctioned off. Maybe they had some financial issues? I saw some online rumors about it.”

Jenny’s family business was in trouble!
