Bailey's pov

His words made my pulse race and the strong emotions he poured intothem made me melt, knowing he meant every single word.

I stared at Kaleb in awe, my heart knowing that it belonged to him andas his eyes meet mine, the emotions he poured in his words showed inthe depths of his soul.

"I finally went after what I want Mira," He whispered, his eyes shinningwith so much strong emotions even I felt them through me. Returninghis gaze to his sister, he uttered softly. " And I'm sorry, but I won't let hergo."

Mira breathed in sharply, takes a step back, shakes her head andwhips around. Her eyes land on me, standing there and her eyes aredead. It makes my chest hurt and I tried to pull air into my lungs to helpme breath.

She looks at me in betrayal, anger and pain. With a shake to her head, she uttered over her shoulder. " Just take me home, I don't want to behere any longer." She rips her eyes off me and storms to Kaleb's car.Every step she takes, it feels like the thread that tied our friendshiptogether was slowly tearing. It was an invisible threat but I could feel it, Icould sense it and I knew that if we didn't speak our hearts out now, that thread will always remain ripped.

I couldn't let years of friendship go down the drain. There must besomeway to get to her. To get her to see that Kaleb and I were just toopeople in love. Two people that finally wanted to express what we feltfor each other.

Two people who finally gave in to what they truly want.

Which was each other.

We just wanted each other.

Why can't she see that?

“ Mira," I whispered in pain, stopping her before she could open the cardoor. She freezes, her shoulders stiff. I waited for her to turn around butshe doesn't. Feeling the weight in my chest from hurting, my eyes dropto the ground, my voice croaking out.

"I wanted to tell you."

The pain I felt in my heart was intense. I didn't want to lose Mira. I didn'twant to lose my best friend for something that can be resolved.

My vision blurs and i know I am about to cry again. " I wanted to tell youwhen it first started. I'm sorry.”

She stares at me silently, sadly giving me that disappointed glare. *He's just going to hurt you, you know that right?" She murmurs low, hervoice as croaky as mine. " And you're just going to come right back tome when he does."

I lift my eyes in surprise and she turns around. Tears are running downher face and I know I am the same way. " But when you do it will be toolate." She shook her head. " I warned you, I told you what kind of aplayer my brother is. I told you he doesn't love the girls he sleeps with.He-

"You're wrong." I said firmly, shaking my head as I stared at her indisbelief. " He's not like that at all Mira. I wish one day you can see yourbrother for who he really is."

Mirabella loved her brother, I knew she did. Anyone would be a fool tothink she didn't. But I understand why she sees Kaleb as a bad guy, despite loving him as a sister should. She didn't trust that he'd stayfaithful to me.

Growing up Kaleb had always been a player and the results were allthe girls who got hurt would always come to her. Mira never enjoyedbeing the one to wipe the girls tears and disliked when some wouldpretend to be her friend just to get to Kaleb.

So in a way, I understand why she thought I made a bad decision andwhy she thought she's protecting me in her own way.

Her eyes are slightly wide from being surprised that I cut her off andstunned by my defensive words. Seeing how I do not take them backand apologize, she nod and snorted. "I tried to save you from pain andheartache Bailey." She turned around and opened the door. “ But I seeyou've made your decision.”

" Don't come back crying to me," She said over her shoulder, her tone abit sad and disappointed. " I won't be the one to wipe your tears. Youchose him. You chose him over our friendship. *

I swallowed as I watch her get in the car and buckle herself securelyand as I stared at her, something rips from my throat. “ And I'd choosehim again.”

She looks up at me in surprise and I leveled my gaze withdetermination for her to see that I meant every word that ripped outfrom my throat. " Because he's worth it."
