My Ex-husband Begs Me Back
Chapter 237 Unworthiness

"Don't bother. Take Sophia back to the hotel. I'l go alone to the hospitaland see grandma."

Camille refused him directly. She looked at Ayan, staring at him but withwandering eyes.

Ayan frowned. "Camille, it's getting late. I can't let you go alone.""There's a driver with me. What's the matter? Didn't I come here alsoby myself? *

She raised her eyebrows and smiled, but there was no happiness inher eyes.

Sophia sensed something too and asked, "Camille, are you mad atAyan because of me? I came to see grandpa today because my dadasked me to. I didn't mean to disturb you. I'm sorry if I offended you. It'snot good for the baby to get mad."

"Thank you, Sophia, for your concern. The baby is in my tummy. Icertainly know what is good and what is bad. Sophia, you have neverbeen pregnant or a mother before. I'm probably more experienced inthis, so you don't have to worry about me, Sophia.”

Camille's face was pale and her words were too soft to show anyemotion. It was hard to tell whether she was happy or unhappy.

But Ayan knew that this was not the case when she was in a goodmood.

Ayan walked over to her, took her hand, and said, “come with me to thehospital. I'm going to see Dr. Ellis. He called me today and wanted totalk to us about Grandma's surgery. So, we will go together, okay?"

It was because of her grandmother that Camille backed off.

Ayan was driving, Camille was in the passenger seat and Sophia wasin the back seat.

Sophia asked, "Camille, is it too hard for you to take the competitionwhile pregnant? You also have to deal with the Simpson Group projectand your grandmother's case."

“No, it's not all together and still manageable.”

Camille's response was casual.

Sophia nodded and showed her understanding. “You don't have towork that hard. Ayan can make a good living for you."

“I really appreciate Sophia's kindness, but everyone's choice isdifferent, right?"

No matter how good Ayan was or how stable their relationship was,Camille felt that having her own career and her own circle wasessential as a girl.

After dropping off Sophia, Camille and Ayan went to the hospital insilence.

Arriving at the hospital, Camille and Ayan first went to Dr. Ellis’ office.Dr. Ellis said that her grandmother was ready for the surgery and that itwas time for her to get mentally prepared for surgery.

After that, they went back to the ward to chat with her.

It was nine o “clock in the evening when they finished talking.

They walked out of the hospital holding hands, and it wasn't until theywere in the car that Ayan asked, "Are you mad at me?"

Camille said, "did you do something to make me mad?"

"Aren't you upset because of Sophia?"

"Why is it because of Sophia? Ayan, why would you think that?""Because you promised Sophia to come with you to the Simpson'sMansion? Or is it because you're too close to Sophia these daysbecause of work?"

Ayan wasn't sure, but he's been thinking about it all the way back, andthose were the only two things that had happened recently.

Camille smiled, "Ayan, what would you do if I were you today andSophia were some men?"

Ayan got silent.

Camille looked out through the window and then said, "isn't that whatcouples will think?"

She didn't just tell him not to spend time with Sophia. Instead, sheshifted their position so that he could empathize with her and make thechange without her having to ask him to.

He had always known how smart she was. Sometimes she just neededto say a word, but she didn't want to say it. Instead, she had to makehim notice on his own and take the initiative to change.

He smiled helplessly, and there was nothing he could do about her.But he did not know, Camille acted like this because she didn't want tofeel inferior, and lose a girl's self-esteem and pride.

Sophia had been in Hance City for nearly half a month. It was no secretthat she worked with Ayan, and Eileen knew about it by accident.

Of course, she knew Sophia. She gave her a lot of bad times in thebeginning. Now she came back to get close to Ayan which made herangry when she thought of her.

Eileen went straight to the hospital and confronted Camille. "Why areyou so useless?" she asked, "you don't care if Ayan and Sophia get soclose? Do you know that Sophia likes Ayan?"

Camille laughed.

She didn't know where Eileen got the gut to question her about this. She shouted back, "who are you to ask me? You really like to mindothers’ business, Eileen. What's it got to do with you?"

“You...You don't deserve to be Ayan's wife, and you don't deserve Mrs.Simpson's title. You will see!"

Camille didn't take her words seriously, and now she was very busy, living every day to the fullest.

Eileen, however, was rather bored and went straight to Sophia after shetalked with Camille.

She had a big argument with Sophia, and she was stunned by Sophia. She was no match for Sophia in arguing. Finally, she had to leave. Then Sophia called Camille and asked Camille out. "Are you free? Canwe meet for afternoon tea?"

Camille agreed, and the two met at a high-end music restaurant nearCamille's workplace.

They arrived almost at the same time. After sitting down and orderingsdrinks and fruits, Sophia said, "I didn't interrupt your work by asking yousuddenly, did 1?"

Camille shook her head. "No, what's it about?"

"Nothing, but Eileen came to me and said something I didn't like. *

"Do you think I told her to come to you? " Camille asked in confusion,or she wouldn't have asked her specifically to meet.

Sophia denied. "I just want to be honest with you. I had a crush onAyan for years, but I have never expressed my feelings. Ayan andEileen used to be together, and now you're married to him, so I thinkwe can only be friends.”

Camille, her face going pale, asked her in a low voice, "lI was surprisedthat you would confess to his wife that you've liked Ayan for so manyyears."

"Because it's the truth.” Sophia wasn't shy to admit it. She lookedCamille straight in the eye and said, "but don't worry, I don't plan tointerfere with other people's marriages and relationships, and I'm sorryif I caused you trouble recently. I'll be more careful in the future.”Camille looked at Sophia. She didn't know this woman, but she knewvery well that Sophia was not like Eileen.

Camille confided, "I'm surprised you said this to me, but you're right. You do need to keep your distance. If you get too close, you will belabeled as someone who is too intimate with a married man. It doesn'tmatter what you did, this label will always be with you."

“I know what you mean, thank you for reminding me that and I think wecan become friends one day too. "

Camille smiled and said, "I'm looking forward to that.”

The two of them cheered with juice and reached a tentative agreement. After coming out from the music bar, Camille got into the car. Ayancalled the next moment. "Camille, where are you?"
