"Hello."

Veromca gave these girls a warm smile.

Annette lowered her cap peak and said lightly, "I'll be off."

Veromca nodded and watched her leave.

Annette called a cab and opened the door for Lorraine.

Her pendent hand resting on the edge of the door was rendered extremely fair by the contrast of herblack sleeve.

When she turned her head sideways, the group of girls got the chance to get a clear sight of her face.

Although being Idly and languorous, her eyes contained a sense of undefined chilliness that madepeople hold their breath.

They locked eyes for a short moment before Annette got on the cab.

Veromca looked back and turned to the girls, "Enjoy your meal, girls.I'll have to get going."

"See you."

Veromca nodded and said to Daisy, "Don't go home too late."

"OK, Dad."

Daisy was still in her cute-daughter manner.

Inside the cab.

Annette hold the sleeve of her hoodie up to the elbows, exposing her slim arms.

Resting one arm on the car window, she played a game on the phone with the other hand idly.

A moment later, she suddenly looked up and said in a low voice, "Pull over at the communityahead."Getting off the cab, Annette narrowed her eyes against the blazing sun.She frowned herdelicate eyebrows, lowered the brim of her cap and put her hands into the jacket pockets.She justlooked so cool.

Lorraine froze at the sight of the magnificent gate.

Burton House — she had heard of this community.

Only the rich or the powerful could afford to live in this waterfront residence, say, the family of high rankofficers or top stars in the entertainment industry.

And she was going to live here with Annette?

"Annette."

Lorrain hurried up to pull her back when Annette was about to walk into it with her idle steps.

"What's wrong?"

Annette tilted her head.

Lorraine cast a shy look at the community and whispered, "Annette, so this is the place youmentioned?"

Annette nodded and lifted her eyebrows.

"So what's the matter?" Lorraine swallowed drily.

"You've rent a flat here? It’s said to be super expensive."

"Expensive?"

She'd never lived in the flat here ever since she obtained it.

Vianne sent it to Annette as a gift when she was buying one for herself.

Lorraine nodded seriously.

"Indeed! All the residents here are high rank officers and super stars."

Annette replied blandly, "oh, it’s my friend’s flat and she lends it to me at a very favorable price."

Lorraine was petrified.

Looking at the expressionless face of Annette, that feeling struck her again: they were people ofdifferent worlds.

There was just no such thing as problem to Annette.She could fix everything well.

The two girls were stopped by the janitor at the entrance.

"What are you here for?"He pointed at them.

The janitor had his gaze roam over the girls’ cheap clothes, and stop at their faces with great contempt.

Lorraine frowned at his disrespect.

"Do you know where this is?"

He said with great hubris.

"Burton House! Don't smudge the land here, you poor girls, get out of here!"

Look at your ragged dress.

How dared you come here? Thought you were pretty enough to climb up? Annette’s bloodshot eyesswept through the janitor with some fearsome ruthlessness, which just sent a chill down his spine.

She then took out a black gold card and passed it to him with her clean and thin fingers.

His face changed instantly, and the arrogant aggression totally vanished without a trace.
