My Father's Friend
My Father’s Friend – Chapter 2

-Since you are new, my advice is to let them do whatever they want to you. If they want to f**k you in the a*s, allow it, if you refuse then they will… -She keeps silent, earning a look full of fear from the young woman -Just please him and that’s it, and they won’t hurt you.

-Yes,” she nods, sniffling.

The brunette flattened her lips, it was worth lying from time to time. Especially when the girl before her was so naive. Despite not being a virgin, it was obvious she had no experience at all when it came to f*****g a guy.

-What are you doing here, Serena? -The voice of the a*****e who always harassed them echoed behind her back, how she hated that guy.

-I help her get ready for him to leave.

-You’re a f*****g busybody, nobody authorized you to do this shit. Go out to work, it’s your turn to dance on the stage, that’s the only thing you should do here. Don’t be an advisor.

Serena listens to the words of that man very close to her person, if she said one more word, that guy was capable of hitting her, but it was impossible for her not to say anything, she hated his presence and not to mention his disgusting tone of voice. But for her own sake and possibly for that girl’s, she would not answer him.

-Good luck,” he whispered to the young woman, whose real name he never knew.

-Claudia, my name is Claudia,” The girl smiles at him just as the watchman grabs Serena by the elbow to drag her out of the dressing room.

Seconds after that inconvenience, a tall, muscular man enters the dressing room. The young woman recoils at the sight of the imposing stranger, her whole body began to tremble at the proximity. She didn’t know what to expect, Serena didn’t tell her anything about what would come next.

-It’s time to go, put this on,” The man throws her a heavy red cloak, the one with a hood big enough to cover a lot of her face, “Cover yourself with the hood and follow me.

She nods, remembering the brunette’s words, she needed to be obedient if she didn’t want to get hurt. Once outside, she would look for ways to escape and return to her family. Never again, he thought, would he disobey his father. If he returned to them alive, he was going to promise them. Swallowing saliva, he put on his cloak and left that detestable dressing room.

-Keep your eyes on the ground, just follow my footsteps.

Obeying the man’s commands, she did as he asked. He didn’t know where he was going, as everything was very dark, but from the hardness of the ground he assumed it was asphalt. Possibly a track or something like that. As soon as she noticed the man’s footsteps stopped, so did she, seconds later she was pulled into the interior of a car.

As she looked up, the first thing her eyes saw was a pair of blue eyes glowing in the darkness, she immediately felt terror, she suspected that this would not be her escape home, but rather the road to hell itself…

[…]

The elevator doors opened and, as they did so, the first thing Casey Monroe noticed was the impressive engraving on the wall of the reception area, the initials of the M&A assembly company. The young woman smiles, every time she attended the meetings that her father organized, she smiled when she saw the initial of her last name Monroe engraved on that whitish wall, it was a source of pride. Of course, the other initial was due to the last name Acrom, belonging to Cauther Lancer Acrom, the partner and best friend of his father Rafael Monroe.

His father and his partner were the owners of the largest and most famous assemblers of sports cars in the United States, they even had a special assembler for the manufacture of cars for Formula-1. The M&A companies were the best-selling in the country, and arguably the world.

-Good morning, Miss Casey, welcome.

-Thank you very much.” He smiles at the receptionist.

Brimming with charisma and beauty, the brunette walked to her father’s office, one that would one day be hers. But, for that to happen she had to learn even the smallest detail about the company, Rafael was a very jealous person and even if she was his daughter he would not give her to him until she was one hundred percent soaked.

she was one hundred percent steeped in the business.

For that reason, Casey had a minimal stake in her father’s shares. Therefore, a thousandth part of that company was hers, legally speaking, so to speak… as soon as she knocked on the door of her father’s office, it suddenly opened, revealing Cauther, her father’s partner. The look in that man’s eyes was often a little scary, but her father said he was a good friend, trustworthy, but above all safe.

She had to trust her father’s word, for he was never wrong. There was no denying him, the old man knew what he was doing.

-Good morning, Mr. Acrom,” she greeted him kindly, she still didn’t feel ready to call him Cauther. Maybe when they became equal partners.

-Good morning,” he answers without showing any emotion on his face. He walks past her leaving a strong scent of her perfume, he hadn’t even looked at her when he greeted her.

-Casey! -her father exclaims from inside the office. I’m glad you’ve arrived, my daughter. Come in.

-Hello, father.” She greets him with an open smile.

-You’re very early, the meeting won’t be for another hour.

-I wanted to stop by earlier to see you, you’ve been working a lot lately and I hardly see you at home.

She sits down taking all the attention of her father, he was a man of athletic build despite being older. He still retained his good looks, which he did not use to get a girlfriend. His mother had died 10 years ago, and it seemed he still wasn’t over her. Sometimes I suspected that he was not reluctant because of her, maybe he thought she was going to be upset.

-Tonight I’ll be home early, I promise.

-Dad, you always say the same thing and never come back for dinner,” she complains.

-You know how demanding this company is, daughter. It can’t be neglected.

Casey purses her lips, thinking she shouldn’t be neglected either. Since her mother was no longer around, most of the time she was always alone or with the nanny. And as she grew into adulthood, the situation got worse, as she stopped seeing her father in the evenings. He would come home so late, all he would do was be in that office or traveling.

-Casey?

-I think I’ll walk around a bit, I’ll be back for the meeting,” she replied, hiding her sadness.

-Daughter, I know I haven’t been….

But her words were interrupted by a light knock on the door, the man ordered whoever it was to come in.

-Mr. Monroe, Mr. West has just arrived.

-Mr. Monroe, Mr. West has just arrived. -Make him come in. Casey, daughter…

-It’s all right, father. I was on my way out anyway,” he answers, getting to his feet.

-In the evening, I promise you we’ll have dinner together.

-That would be nice.” She approaches the man who stands up and places a k**s on the chestnut’s forehead.

-See you later…

She bites her tongue, for a moment she thought she would tell him something else… but the reality was different, Rafael had stopped showing his affection for her a long time ago. And she wasn’t sure what his reason would be, what she was very sure of was that he was very hurt by this estrangement.

As Casey was about to leave, she came face to face with Genaro West, an old friend of her father’s. They had known each other since college. They had known each other since college, so they were contemporaries, and since then they visited each other every day. Casey had known him for as long as he could remember, always attending his Christmas parties and bringing him impressive gifts. Of course, Genaro had no children, let alone a wife.

Like his father, the man was quite well preserved. You could tell they were men who took very good care of themselves despite the stresses of their businesses.

-Well, look who we have here, little Monroe,” smiles the man with his gleaming teeth. Genaro’s greenish gaze was so fatherly that it brought smiles to Casey’s face.

-Hi, Uncle.” And for that reason, ever since she was a little girl, she called him Uncle.

-This girl makes me feel like an old man when she calls me that,” Genaro hugged her with a smile, but his words were directed towards his friend. When did you grow up so much, Rafael?

-I ask myself the same question every day,” Rafael proudly observes his daughter.

-I’ll leave you two to talk.
