My Father's Friend
My Father’s Friend – Chapter 25

-Is that what’s in your head?

-What did you do with all of them? -He asks seriously.

-You really want to talk about that, I didn’t come up here to talk about what I do and don’t do.

-And why did you come up here?

-I replace that question much more interesting than the others.

At that, Casey notices that dangerous grin creeping onto Cauther’s lips, oh shit, that wasn’t good! he muttered inwardly, but without trying to free himself from Cauther’s arms.

In a fraction of a second, Cauther grabbed her by the buttocks to pull her up to his waist and with two long strides they were both on the bed, one on top of the other. With ease the CEO slipped between her thighs and quickly took hold of her fleshy lips, thrusting his tongue inside her.

At first, the redhead protested, but her emotions betrayed her completely, as a few minutes later she wrapped her arms around Cauther’s neck, and with her legs she held his huge body. But as she did so, she was immediately shocked to feel the huge e******n hidden behind the man’s trousers.

Soon, her brain began to protest. Trying to make her realise that what she was about to do with Cauther was not the right thing to do. She had to think that he only wanted to f**k her, and from her he would move on to someone else, probably in exactly one month. Then he understood something very important, if they ended up getting married, would he have to keep putting up with Cauther buying women? And what was going to happen to her?

And then, out of nowhere, the urges that had been tormenting her lower belly just a moment ago vanished as if nothing had happened. By now, Cauther was devouring her neck with passion, but she no longer felt anything. She was stiffer than a board, and her partner noticed it at once.

-What’s wrong with you? -He asked as he pulled away from her a little.

-If I marry you, will you still buy those girls? -Casey didn’t even look at him when he asked the question.

Waiting for an answer was making her uneasy, a part of her, a very strong part of her wished with all her heart that he would answer with a no. “I’ll keep doing it.

-I’ll keep doing it,” he answered so coldly that her heart broke.

She knew it! She knew, Cauther didn’t care about anything but himself. He was so selfish, he didn’t stop to think about the welfare of those girls. And so he wanted her to marry him, he was mad as hell. She had no intention of marrying such an egomaniac, such an unfeeling person, someone who had a heart like an ice tempane.

Angrily and sadly, she pulls Cauther away from her. Casey sits on the bed, thinking of the right words to reject the proposal of the man her stupid knees were shaking for.

-I’m not marrying you, Cauther.” She ends up saying the basics, how stupid she was!

-What?

-I won’t, I won’t marry a man who likes to buy kidnapped women and then…” She hushed her words. “I don’t want a man like that.

-Our marriage won’t be real, remember?

-Whether it’s real or not, I won’t marry you,” she stands up to look at him.

At that moment he had laid flat on the bed with both hands behind his head. He looked so devilishly sexy, so alluring, captivating, erotic, the fucker. Why did he have to be so f*****g arrogant? She flattens her lips, trying to come back to reality.

-I don’t know how you’re going to do it, but you’re going to be my wife.

-No.” He had to tell her something that would hurt her pride, something that would make her run out of his room and not want him to come back.

-There’s nothing more to do, I thought it would be fine by the end of the week. It will be right here in the house, and absolutely no one will be there. I don’t want anyone in my house.

-You’re crazy if you think I’m going to accede to your whims.

-That’s not necessary,” he gives her a faint smile.

Which pissed her off even more, he was mocking her on top of it. As if her word counted for nothing. It was imperative that she put that arrogant man in his place.

-You disgust me, Cauther. The times I have responded to your k****s and caresses, I was only pretending to replace a way to soften you up so I could escape from your house. But the reality is that I repudiate you. And every k**s of yours made me nauseous. Don’t expect me to marry a man who is just like his father.

From his shocked expression, Casey knew she’d hit the nail on the head.

-You think I don’t know your story, my mother told it to me in secret. So no, I’m not marrying a guy who’s following in his father’s footsteps.

The CEO’s half-smile immediately faded from a sneer to an expression of seriousness that could kill a person just by looking at it. No woman he had ever been with had ever said such a thing to him, well not about his family’s history, but about the disgust and him faking it. The truth was, he believed blindly that she enjoyed it, all the hints she gave made him think she did. But for those words to come from Casey’s lips, it hurt. From the disgust, to what he said about being just like his f*****g father.

Hurt?

Was that really what he was feeling?

Without a word, Cauther stood up without taking his eyes off Casey. He looked at her sternly, then turned and walked out of the room.

The redhead blinked furiously, then flattened her lips and tilted her head slightly downward. It was a very harsh word, he told himself, but he needed to understand that he couldn’t have whatever he wanted. That she wasn’t part of his plans, Casey lets out his breath.

-F**k, but why do I feel so bad?

From the look on his face, she deduced that she’d succeeded in her purpose of bruising his ego. But why the f**k didn’t she feel good about it. She looked at the door Cauther had come out of.

-Shit, what’s all this churning in my stomach? Why the f**k do I want to go after him?

She clenched her jaw, feeling ashamed of her immature behaviour, it was more than clear that she had crossed the line with her comment. She should never have mentioned anything about her father, her mother had made her promise never to say anything about Cauther’s past, as he was like her father Raphael’s protégé. Unfortunately, she brought up that secret only out of revenge. If her father ever found out what she had done, he would surely disinherit her.

-It was wrong, very wrong… hell, what the hell should I do now?

[…]

In the gloom of the huge living room of his house, Cauther lay on an impressive sofa in front of a fireplace with a very poor fire. Swinging a wine glass back and forth, the CEO recapitulated Casey’s words. He never imagined she was faking it all those times, she seemed so real, so sincere, like she was really enjoying it. But it all turned out to be a sham.

-Shit,” he mumbles.

If that redhead’s intention was to piss him off, she had definitely succeeded. The fact that she was comparing him to his damned father made him furious, although it was more than clear that she hated him for having bought her in that bar. And her hatred was probably growing after she told him they were getting married. Cauther lets out a frustrated sigh as he tilts his head back.

-Damn it, that woman will give me grey hair.

For a moment he closes his eyes and clenches his jaw, she didn’t seem like the type to lie like that, if she was so innocent he doubted she knew how to lie. Those f*****g reactions seemed real enough to him, it was just that the only thing that provoked him in those moments was to go up to her bedroom and shake her to make her confess the truth.

What irritated him the most at the moment, and he didn’t understand why, was the fact that those damn words were hurting him. He didn’t like the feeling of being vulnerable in front of anyone, and the fact that it was happening to Casey made him very uneasy.
