Chapter 60

It was clear that they were staying together, but they still had to greet each other good morning andgoodnight at regular times every day.

At noon, she would order takeout and remind him to eat well.

Of course, Zac did not deny that he was enjoying her presence and was even delighted.

Every step she took to probe him was almost enough to make him unable to restrain his patience.

However, he had to make some preparations.

Hearing this, her eyelids trembled slightly.

She asked, with a guilty expression on her face, "I care about you, isn't that good?"

"Oh, very good.Keep it up."

Zac nodded casually and curled his lips slightly.

"After all, you stated the day after our wedding that there must have been a great number of womenwho wanted to marry me because I'm a well-known man.So, it is natural for you to be in a state ofchaos."

He stated with skepticism in his voice.

Anika choked as she heard what he uttered and was once again bewildered by his arrogant posture.

"Right, Frederick recently arranged an exclusive financial interview for me."

He raised his eyebrows and added, "I need to provide some wedding photos."

They obviously didn't have wedding photos.

Therefore, he needed to make a new set.

She recognized the meaning behind his words and raised her eyes.

"Do you still need wedding photos for the financial interview?"

As far as she remembered, he had never appeared in an exclusive interview.

"It's not that kind of serious interview.’’ Zac explained and asked casually, "What? You don't want toshoot?"

She shook her head, "No, as long as you think ...you can."

She was taking advantage of him with her current thoughts, no matter how she looked at the weddingphotos.

After dinner, Zac went to wash the dishes.

Meanwhile, Anika returned to her bedroom.

She then turned on her phone and told her friends she was going to shoot wedding photographs withZac.

"Wedding photos? I'll give you a nice photographer later.Speaking of taking wedding photos, there aretoo many poses.Seize this opportunity!" Nataly replied on her chat.

Alena also responded, "Exclusive interviews are good, it will show his married identity.Nika, don't letanyone take advantage of the situation before taking Zac."

"Alena is right. You have to take wedding photos and wear wedding rings. These days, there are manypeople who want to take shortcuts.Whether it's men or women, they still have to watch closely." Natalyremarked.

Anika's face furrowed as she contemplated their feedback on Viber.

It seemed as if they hadn't worn their wedding rings since they were married.

Furthermore, she appeared to have neglected the issue of her peers.

A day passed with that indescribable thought.

The next day, at the dining table, Anika handed the rice to Zac and began to talk about a lot ofunimportant things.

"The first love you mentioned before, what kind of person is she?"

Although she had doubts about Zac's first love, she thought for a moment and couldn't deny it.

She did not dwell on his first love.

But, if he did have a first love, it seems that she could also replace out what kind of love he preferred.

Zac looked at her calmly and said, "She is good and she is willing to help others.Tony said for the firsttwo days that she is very gentle"

"The first two days?" She smirked faintly and tightened her fists subconsciously.

"You ...still like her now?"

A bitter feeling appeared to pass through her heart.

He sneered and said indifferently, "Didn't you say the other day that you couldn't ruin other people'smarriages? You almost forgot that I'm married now.”

Furthermore, his first love and her husband's sentiments were so strong that she was unhappy, and herpossibilities of probing at him were nearly nothing.

She also had no idea how outstanding her husband's first love was, which made her feel ashamed ofherself.

Anika exhaled a breath of relief and said, more cheerfully, "Then did you put it down?"

He couldn't nod his head and just uttered instead, "Well, I'm happier with my current situation than Iwas previously’’ She grinned as she gazed up at him and said softly.

"Me too." She preferred their current relationship compared to the one they had in high school.

After all, their relationship was too tense at that time.

"Oh? Did I bother you so much in high school?" Zac raised his eyebrows slightly.

"You didn't notice my sad situation back then, when I went abroad without looking back.Do you regretit?"

After hearing this, Anika was taken aback when she met his calm gaze.

Thus, she paused for a moment and said seriously, "Zac, I never wanted to see you in a sorry state.Ijust ...often get so angry with you that I can't do anything about it."

If he was truly evil, she would treat him as a stranger and not show him any feelings.

However, he merely used his terrible attitude to keep from crossing the line, and she was frequentlyforced to make things tough for him.

Looking at her serious expression, Zac sighed helplessly, "Anika, you should understand that peoplehave tempers and emotions. There is no need to always be burdened with baggage.’

In fact, most of the time, even if she was purposefully irritated by him, she would not react strongly.

Others may assume this was due to her compassion and tolerance, but it was actually due to herisolation from everyone else.

Even in her own family, she probably didn't have any sense of belongingness.

Anika's world was completely different.

She would care about people who treated her well.

Those mistreated her would no longer be able to tell the slightest bit of emotion.

Just like the people from the Cooper Family, they were probably no different from strangers in her eyes.

She merely dealt with their nasty intentions calmly, without even a hint of grief or rage.

She could always withdraw quietly, but it was based on her heart's walls.

Zac silently put away her bowl and rubbed her head.

"Nobody should be perfect.Even if there is a little bit of emotion, you can vent it.Don't hold it back.” Shewas constantly flaunting an image of being overly kind and proper, learning to become all.

In essence, she was terrified of revealing a minor imperfection and causing others to retreat.

Anika nodded in surprise as she heard what he uttered.

She did not respond and shrunk her fingertips.

She was used to managing unpleasant feelings and did not want to expose them to others.

Since she believed that no relationship had ever been strong enough to accept a person's negativeemotions forever.

After a moment of silence, she threw away the complicated thoughts and took a deep breath.

She suddenly remembered something and whispered, "Then why didn't you accept the money backthen?"

She was referring to the tuition fees that she had entrusted Zac to pay when she discovered thatsomething had happened to the Hill family.

He lowered his eyes and said gently, "Maybe he's trying to outdo me” He still didn't know where hispath would lead, so he didn’t want to drag her along with him.

It was better to draw the line between them.

When he found out Kayden was moving abroad, he realized that he was a step too late.

Anika could tell by his expression that he didn't want to talk about it anymore.

So she changed the topic of their conversation and just said with a sigh of relief, "Nataly recommendedme to a photographer who specializes in wedding photography.

There will be a slot in these two days; "Yes”

"And ..."

Zac turned to face her as he noticed her hesitation.

Anika handed him a dark red velvet box and paused for a moment before saying, "Here you are.Ibought this new one."

Zac took it and opened it.The silver wedding ring shone under the crystal lamp.

"Since you're married, you should wear a wedding ring, right?" She suggested.

Even if he only wanted to pretend to be in love, he should still wear a wedding ring.

However, the pair of wedding rings from before were indeed not suitable for the two of them to wear.

During the day, she went to the mall to carefully choose a new pair of wedding rings.

She looked at the man’s expression and said, "If you don't like it, you can change it"

After a long moment of silence, the corner of Zac's mouth curved slightly.

He softly tapped her forehead with his slender fair-skinned fingers.

After that, he slightly lifted his brows and said in the same tone as usual, "Oh, it's okay."
