Chapter 88

Zac served the food ten minutes later.Anika removed her apron and sat beside Zac.

She smiled at Tony and Leo and said, "You guys don't have to be so formal."

"You're welcome.Anika is superior."

Tony smiled and complimented, then looked over at the man on the other side.

"Zac, I was the one who watched over the renovation of this house, but it is now in excellentcondition. What if I don't deserve to come?"

He hadn't forgotten that Zac had refused his greenhouse.

Zac had left this villa near the river for himself in the past.

Since he’s too preoccupied with his work.

He had to travel all the time, and Frederick had to accompany him on a business trip, so he didn’t havetime to consider the decoration.

Tony was the one who found an interior designer he knew and completed the renovation along the way.

He hadn't returned since they built the house until Anika invited them over.

"Why can't you shut your mouth when you eat?"

Zac said indifferently, looking at Tony’s smug expression.

Anika couldn't help but stare at Zac because he had such a poor attitude.

Zac snorted and averted his gaze.

"This is the shrimp that was delivered this morning. It's quite fresh.Give it a shot,’ Anika said softly asshe pushed a shrimp pasta in front of Tony and Leo.

Tony felt flattered He looked at Leo, who was enjoying his meal, with a complicated expression as hehesitated to pick up a piece, recalling the two sandwiches he had the previous time.

Originally, he expected to be pressured to finish the performance under the pressure of Zac's gaze, butafter carefully tasting it, Tony immediately opened his eyes wide and exclaimed, "Anika, your cookingskills are amazing."

Tony was still a little concerned when Anika first invited them to over.

‘‘After all, those two sandwiches were still fresh in his mind.It concerned that his acting abilities are notenough, and that Zac would persecute him.By the looks of it.Anika should only make certain foods thatare unpleasant to eat. This pasta is almost as good as the chef's at the restaurant.Zac is very fortunate’’Tony thought.

Tony let go of his appetite.

The three men devoured the dishes on the table in record time.

Anika went back to her room after dinner to change her clothes because it had smelled while shecooked.

Zac stood up after putting away the dishes on the table.

He looked at Tony, who was sitting carelessly, picking his teeth with a toothpick.

He frowned slightly and asked, neither salty nor indifferent, "You only know how to eat? Come help mewash the dishes."

Tony's hand trembled as he heard this, and his toothpick almost fell to the ground.

He looked at Zac in disbelief and muttered, "Zac, are you still doing the dishes by yourself?"

‘‘Isn't this too unsafe? If their employees found out, their jaws would drop in disbelief’’ Tony thought.

Tony curled his lips and asked, "But isn't there a dishwasher at home?"

"It's doesn't clean very well." Zac replied.

As a result, Tony felt that what the man was trying to say should be that he could do the job of adishwasher.

‘‘Oh! I can compete with the dishwasher! Is this something I should be proud of?’’ he wondered.

Tony accepted his fate and took up the bowl on the dining table.

Leo gave the bowl to Tony, too.

When he didn't respond, Leo smiled and said, "Help me clean up.Tonight, I'll take you to the blackroom.’’

Tony couldn't replace a teammate despite his ability to play games, so Leo was the only one who he coulddrag him along.

As a result, Tony could only accept his fate and accompany Zac to the kitchen to wash the dishes.

Zac stood there watching as they washed the dishes, and the two finally emerged from the kitchen.

It was still early, and Zac was in a good mood.

He invited Leo and Tony to play billiards in the game room.

The game room is at the end of the corridor.

When Anika went out from her room after changing her clothes, she noticed the three of them goingupstairs.

Tony greeted her.

He casually asked, "Anika, why aren't there wedding photos in your master bedroom?"

When she heard this, Anika turned her head to look at the empty white wall by the bedside and realizedthat something was missing.

She smiled and replied, "I did, but I left it in the study cabinet.I didn’t have time to hang it up."

Yuna even asked her assistant to frame a few photos of various sizes after the wedding photos weredone.

However, the master bedroom was Zac's domain, so hanging it in the second bedroom seemedstrange.

So Anika went back to the studio and placed the frames in the study cabinet.

"What are you doing, Zac? There are so many wedding photos hanging in the office, but I will not hangthem up when I leave."

Tony couldn't stop himself from muttering.

Anika raised her brows, looked at Zac, and strangely asked, "Did you hang up our wedding photo inyour office?"

Zac was speechless.

Zac remained silent.

Tony stood to the side and danced around, gesturing, "Well, there is big and on the table there are twosmall ones."

"Zac, you're a force to be reckoned with.As one would expect from you."

With admiration, Leo shook his head and patted Zac’s shoulder, giving him a thumbs up.

Anika was silent.

She realized right away that her perception of Zac's flirtatious actions needed to be refined.

"Hey Anika, why is this room still occupied?" Tony pointed at the second bedroom.

Anika had yet to finish packing her belongings in the secondary bedroom.

She just returned to the master bedroom after taking her clothes from the second bedroom.

Both bedrooms were open.

Knowing Tony did not know the two of them were in separate rooms, Anika protected Zac, saying, "Oh,girls had a lot of things. This room is the only that had a dressing table, so I placed some items here"

Tony nodded.

"As I mentioned, this room was originally a children’s room. The designer expressed concern that if theyinstalled a sound barrier, he could not hear the child's cries at night. It's fine to put things away.I’m afraidit wouldn't be practical as a guest room."

Tony decorated the villa, and the designer had also told him about the layout of each room.

Anika’s face paused briefly, and the corner of her mouth twitched.

"Are you sure it's a children’s room? Isn't this supposed to be a second bedroom?"

"The designer created it with the children’s room in mind. Please don't tell me.Do you think the soundinsulation in this room is adequate?"

Tony regarded her with skepticism.

Anika breathed a sigh of relief as she faced Tony's piercing gaze. She nodded, her voice suppressingher undetectable anger.

"I found out."

Not only did she discover it, she also remembered it deeply.

Anika did not lose her cool in front of the visitors and maintained her cool until Tony and Leo left.

Anika's smile faded as the door closed behind her.

"Did you steal the wedding photo I put in the study cabinet?" she asked, turning her head coldly.

Zac pursed his lips and silently shook his head.

Anika smiled and said, "Oh, you didn't take it? Why did the wedding photo disappear?"

She had already gone to the study room to look, and the cabinet was empty.

‘‘How could there be any shadows of those wedding photos? Initially, she assumed that someone hadredone electronically the wedding photos in his office. But Zac had stolen them! What happened tohim?’’ she wondered.

Zac paused for a moment before raising his eyebrows and asking, "Why did I steal the photos?"

‘Okay, you're quite righteous’ he thought.

He blocked Anika, and she nodded angrily.

"All right, how about that bedroom? Why did you allow me to stay in that room at the time? Did youeavesdrop on me on purpose from the start?"

"No." Zac denied it.

Then pursed his lips to explain, "This is a misunderstanding."

He stole the wedding photo from the study late at night.

But Zac didn't intentionally eavesdrop on the matter of letting her live next door.

It was indeed a big mistake.

The master bedroom had children’s rooms on both sides, the remaining rooms were too far away fromthe master bedroom, and the west side had separate small stairs.

She might not even be able to meet him if she didn’t go out.

No one occupied the villa in a long time, and the words Tony had casually reminded Zac had long sincefaded.

He only wanted her to be closer, so he used the few days she hadn't moved here to rearrange thelayout of the children’s room and guest room, completely oblivious to the fact that the soundproofing inthe children’s room was poor.

He remembered it later, when he found out about it.

He couldn't admit that his initial intention was to enable her to live closer, so he could only make amistake and tactfully remind her that the soundproofing in the room was wasn't good.

‘‘Who knew Zac would be even more unable to admit that she had carried her back from BC when sheelevated him to a pedestal with a single sentence and smiled at him?’’ he thought.

He reasoned she had already moved into the master bedroom and that he should not have given it anythought.

Tony caught him off guard and revealed a previously hidden truth.

Zac couldn't say anything.

Anika became even more certain of her assertion when she noticed he was speechless.

Her temper rose slightly as she remembered her stupid words to get rid of him.

"Zac, sleep by yourself tonight!" she said, narrowing her brows.

She didn’t even look back after she finished speaking and went upstairs.

The door upstairs slammed heavily a few seconds later.

Zac was speechless.

He had a mouthful of resentment stuck in his stomach.

Zac clenched his fists and took a few steps back.

With a stoic expression, he took out his phone and sent a Viber message.

Leo was driving his car.

In a good mood, Tony, in the passenger seat, hummed a song.

He took out his phone, saw a new message, and slowly opened his Viber.

He felt his phone's vibration in his pocket.

[A half-year-end bonus has been deducted.] The message said.

Tony was puzzled at what he read.
