Chapter 47 Handle The Matter Properly

Daniel was stupefied. He was standing right next to Amanda while Christopher was at least ten feet away from them just a moment ago.

However, in just a blink of an eye, the man was already inches away from him.

"No one is allowed to hurt anyone else in front of me. Besides, that's not how you should hold a knife."

The next instant, just using one hand, Christopher snatched Daniel's knife away from him and stabbed it into the man's thigh. "Aaaahhh! Aaaahhh!"

Daniel's agonizing screams filled the air at once. Almost the entire blade of the knife had disappeared into his thigh, and blood was gushing out of his wound. The man was in so much pain that he passed out soon after.

Christopher shook his head helplessly before kicking Daniel aside and said placidly, "I didn't intend to use any violence today, but you asked for it!"

Meanwhile, Amanda was still in a state of shock. She was almost certain that she would be hurt by Daniel. However, in just a split second, her attacker had already been defeated by her chairman. Amanda's heart was thumping wildly as she was extremely attracted to Christopher's domineering aura.

Even though she was Diane's secretary, she was a woman after all. At that moment, Amanda could feel herself falling for Christopher and was slightly envious of Julianna.

It's a pity that such an outstanding man is already someone else's husband!

"Ms. Clark, did I scare you? Are you all right?" Christopher asked in a comforting tone.

Unaware of the woman's roller coaster of emotions, he had assumed that she was scared senseless.

Amanda shook her head in response. After all, she had experienced her fair share of tough circumstances while working for Diane. As such, being held hostage by Daniel was not enough to scare her. Christopher let out a sneer after taking a glance at Daniel, who was lying unconscious on the ground and said, "Ms. Clark, let the police handle the rest. It's better for Cordrington Corporation to stay away from this matter. Also, don't let anyone know about my identity and just make up some reason for choosing Julianna Corporation as our business partner."

Amanda replied respectfully at once, "Don't worry, Mr. Yaeger. I will handle the matter properly."

Christopher nodded. Given Centurion Corporation's influence, it would not take them any effort to keep the media quiet.

As for Daniel, he was the least of Christopher's worries. Judging by the extent of the man's offenses, he would most likely be sentenced to life imprisonment.

"Should I get the police to come over now? They are just across the road from us," Amanda, who had already taken the initiative to inform the police, asked softly.

"Sure. Get them to come over after I leave. Oh right, you've handled the matter very well. I'll get Ms. Reed to reward you when we get back."

Christopher was rather impressed with Amanda's capabilities and could not help but give her a compliment. In fact, he was not that surprised given that the woman was Diane's secretary.

"Thanks, Mr. Yaeger. I'm only doing my job," Amanda quickly replied respectfully.

Christopher nodded in response. Just then, Amanda remembered that Jared was still outside and asked in a hushed tone, "How should we deal with Jared?"

"There's no rush for that. This is just the beginning!" Christopher replied before letting out a sneer.

Meanwhile, Harold was at Cordrington Corporation in Jadeborough.

He had a grim expression on his face after watching the stock price of Cloudington Group fall to the limit. The man was in an extremely foul mood and was pacing around in his office, completely baffled by the current situation.

"Could it be Lupine who has done this?"

Harold grew anxious at that thought and picked up his phone to call Caleb. When Caleb saw that it was Harold calling, he picked up the phone immediately.
