Chapter 974

“True.” Drake stood up. “Get the car ready. We’re going.”

“Yes, boss.” Kale shook his head.

Drake never cared about his reputation. He just needed an excuse to go.

Once in the car, Kale started the engine and asked, “Boss, where are we headed?

“How would I know? Didn’t Cathryn tell you where she was?”

“No, she didn’t.”

‘Silence settled in the car.

Inside the abandoned factory, Edgar glanced at Liza. “Fermin hasn’t shown up yet. Looks like he doesn’t care about you that much.”

Liza retorted, “No way. He loves me the most. He’ll come to save me.”

“Seems like we can’t rely on you. I should contact Marion instead.” Edgar pulled out his phone, planning to instruct Marion to leave the money in a safe spot.

Suddenly, a pair of headlights penetrated the darkness, shining directly at him.

“See? I told you my brother would come to rescue me.” Liza pointed at the black car in the distance.

Quickly, a figure emerged from the car. It was Frederic, who was dressed in a sharp suit that bore the Eaton family crest on his chest. The mask on his face was eerily terrifying.

Edgar asked with a frown, “You’re Fermin’s man?”

Debra was puzzled too, not expecting Frederic to work for the Eaton family.

She wondered if the person she had seen at Drake’s engagement party was him rather than

Juan.

Frederic nodded but remained silent.

“Where’s the money?” Edgar demanded.

As Frederic stepped forward, he cautiously pulled Liza in front of him. “Hand over the money first. Or I’ll kill her.”

Debra watched Frederic closely, feeling something was off. At the engagement party, Fermin had brought a large entourage to back up Liza. But now, only Frederic was sent there. It didn’t add up.

As Frederic remained silent, Edgar scowled, while Liza fidgeted.

She didn’t think she had seen Frederic before, but he was her only hope now.

Frederic reached into his jacket, and Edgar expected a check or bank card. Instead, Frederic pulled out a pistol.

Debra realized what he was planning. She quickly grabbed the stun baton hidden in her sleeve and jabbed it into Edgar’s side, pulling Liza behind her.

Unfortunately, the stun baton’s charge wasn’t high enough to incapacitate Edgar. A gunshot rang out as Frederic shot the gun out of Edgar’s hand and then hit him in the left

leg-

Edgar screamed in agony. Debra took the chance to push Liza toward Frederic.
