Everyone had choices, but Esther had none. She had to trust Bradley's promise. At least seeing Felix would ease her longing for her child. "Thank you, sir," Esther said, taking a deep breath to calm her restlessness. "If you don't need anything else, may I clear the dishes?" Bradley didn't respond, simply rising and heading upstairs.

With her head down, Esther respectfully watched Bradley leave before tackling the dining room and kitchen. She worried he might check for cleanliness, so she wore kitchen gloves and meticulously cleaned, even disassembling the range hood.

She finally caught her breath once she finished in the kitchen and dining room. However, the living room phone rang.

Esther hesitated but answered. "Hello?"

"Can you transfer the call to Mr. Warner?"

"Of course, please hold."

Esther recognized Mandy's voice but wondered why she was calling Bradley.

"Sir, it's Ms. Pendleton on the line."

Esther gently knocked at the master bedroom entrance, reminding Bradley to answer.

No response from the room.

"Yes?" Bradley, freshly showered, impatiently took the call.

"Bradley, my mother and I have nowhere to go," Mandy said, her voice teary. "We can't even stay in a hotel."

Mandy hadn't expected such ruthless actions-assets confiscated, bank accounts frozen, and being blacklisted, preventing them from hotels, flights, or trains. In just a few days, her comfortable life turned to hardship.

She had Liora, who did nothing productive, failing to pack valuable items to sell. That money could have secured an apartment or small house or sent Liora to a sanatorium.

"I'll pick you up."

Mandy was relieved. "Thank you, Bradley."

Bradley grabbed his coat and left. Seeing Esther outside, he commanded coldly, "Prepare the second-floor room and some appetizers."

"Understood."

With her daughters' lives in Bradley's hands, Esther wondered if she had learned skills in prison just to serve him. She dared not resist and followed his orders, working tirelessly. After a while, she glanced at the dark sea. Its charm vanished without daylight, replaced by an eerie atmosphere.

When the helicopter roared, Esther shivered.

Mandy and Liora, disheveled with suitcases, disembarked.

Mandy observed Esther, dressed like a maid, wondering if this was a new form of romantic relationship.

"Is the bird's nest ready?"

Esther replied, "Yes, sir."
