My Jealous Alpha Stepbrother -
Chapter 31
Kade
I never claimed to be an angel, and what I’m about to do will most certainly send me to hell. I’m about to kidnap that girl, Lydia, the omega and take her to the lycan realm.
The reason?
The heart of Chang’e is resting inside of her, calling to me. I can either marry Lydia and have her pups, or I could take the gem out of her by force. Anything goes. It’s all up to her, really.
Lydia got two options: marriage or possible death.
Because if she refuses to become my woman and carry my pups, I will have that gem forcefully removed from her body. Because the heart of Chang’e belongs to the lycans.
And today, it will be brought back to my realm.
Like a shadow, I appear in alpha Avery’s garden. We lycans might not have much magic in our veins, but I’m the prince. I’ve been training for years to conceal my scent, and now it pays off.
The day is young. Birds are singing, and the sun is beaming. These grounds are no longer shielded by the orange rays since an alpha dragon destroyed this garden a few days ago. Some of it is repaired with magic, but not all of it.
Silently, I look around, eagerly sniffing the air. Immediately I pick up on the scent I’ve searched for. Lydia is crouched in front of a pond, and she is… Puking?
Ew.
What the heck is the matter with her?!
Gross.
Do I really want to throw her over my shoulder when she is busy emptying her stomach into that pond? The poor ducks that will arrive to swim in that water tomorrow… Gag.
But what don’t you do to keep being the villain? The heart of Chang’e shall be mine. And mate or not, Lydia will become my woman because the gem’s powers are inside her.
Our pups would be strong—my determination grows at that, and I set off to claim Lydia. I stalk over the grass, eyes focused on her dark hair cascading down her back.
She is beautiful, this one, and I throw her over my shoulder in a quick movement as if it’s nothing.
“No, what are you doing?!” there is a sharp gasp as Lydia realizes who has taken her. She turns tense on her shoulder, and then a threatening snarl leaves those glossy l!ps. “Kade?! Why are you here?”
My amusement grows, and I lift an eyebrow at her, smirking. “What does it look like? I’m k********g you.”
“As if I would go with you willingly!” Lydia growls.
“Oh, you don’t have much of a choice…” I chuckle. “I’m already carrying you away from here.”
“Put me down!”
“Nope…”
“Seriously?!” Lydia snaps. “What is with you and picking me up as you damn well please?! Put me down, Kade, before Avery replaces you and melts you with his fire!”
“We will be gone before he replaces out you’ve been taken.”
“I will murder you!”
“Murder me?” I’m amused now; she is funny this one. When I face the little spitfire, my l!ps quirk up in an even larger smirk. “I’m killing you, and there is nothing you can do about it, Shorty. You’re cute, but I’m sorry, I win this round.”
“You haven’t won yet!”
Since I’m feeling mischievous, I turn my head, planting a k!ss on her cheek. Her eyes widen, and I wink at her. Immediately, her face starts turning red in response to my playfulness.
“You white-haired, infuriating b.astard!”
“Is that your nickname for me?”
“GAH!” I ask innocently.
“I’m going to tear you apart! This time you can’t get away from my wolf, Kade! And I will s*******r you for k!ssing me, you scum!”
The little woman trashes around on my shoulder, and I curse under my breath when I realize I forgot to bring magic dust to block her from shape-shifting.
Seriously, Kade?
I’m stupid for forgetting Lydia is a werewolf. She is so small that I sometimes just forget that she is a supernatural being. Damn it. I sigh heavily when I’m carrying a wolf, not a woman.
“And there she goes… Shape-shifting…” I shake my head as I realize I must act. “I must get out of here quickly…” Before I bleed to death from the wounds that will soon cover my arm…
Sharp teeth have already bitten into my shoulder skin. Lydia isn’t to be underestimated and continues biting and clawing at me. She is smaller than me, yet she is fighting me with her entire arsenal.
But I don’t release Lydia.
Instead, I let my own transformation change me. Lydia got the upper hand at first, but as I grow in size and shape-shift into a lycan, it becomes clear who is in control.
Since I’m the leader of the lycans, I can shape-shift at will. My lycan is white, large, and positively muscular. Lydia’s little black wolf might be stunning to look at but not exactly a hard match for a lycan over ten feet tall standing on its hind legs.
Yet that doesn’t stop Lydia from challenging me. She growls at me, and I’m forced to snarl back to show her her place.
It doesn’t take much to convince her that I’m the top dog. My snarl immediately silences her, but only for a second. Lydia is back clawing at my shoulder a second later.
f*****g hell…
It annoys the crap out of me, and I growl before taking off for the portal. I run on two legs, hulking, heavy, and so damn annoyed since b***d is running down my shoulder.
Why do werewolves have such sharp teeth?!
The pain in my shoulder is excruciating, yet I power through. My claws grip the grass as I paddle forward with a werewolf trying to rip off my goddamn arm. And as if that isn’t troublesome enough, I seem to have gained the attention of other werewolves.
They are sitting on the porch. A bunch of them. Not good. I don’t want to grab attention, but nothing I can do about that now.
“Hey, isn’t that Lydia?!” a female erupts, and I can hear the shock in her voice. “I thought you said she went to the bathroom?!”
Another one gasps. “I didn’t lie! Lydia went to the bathroom. She must have gone out on the other side of the house… s**t! Is that a freaking lycan carrying her?!”
“f**k, it is!”
“Lydia!”
“We are coming to save you!”
“Hold on!”
I rumble to myself as three people shape-shift and run toward me in their wolf forms. Now what?! Do I fight or hope that I can outrun them? Gah, I’m unsure what to do.
Leave Lydia and escape, or try to bring her with me?
Or fight?
