My Mate and Brother's Betrayal -
Betrayal 64
64 Traitor
Unknown POV
The run home seems shorter even though I know it's not. I shift pulling my clothes back on and sliding the burner phone into my pocket. Thankfully, the baggie kept it dry. I make my way back toward the pack border, keeping myself hidden behind trees. I watch as the patrol guard passes before I start back into the territory. Once I make it to the trees on the pack side, I breathe a sigh of relief at having made in and out of the pack undetected. "You're going to get us killed by your stupidity," my wolf says.
"Don't act like you aren't on board with this plan. If Jayden had just accepted the Alpha position instead of handing it over to that pr*ck Beck, none of this would be happening. Jayden would be Alpha and I would have convinced him to make us Beta. We deserved that position, but Jayden had to go and do what's right for the pack. Blah, blah, blah."
"Corey was right, he was pathetic." "I never said I didn't want to become Beta, but betraying our pack seems extreme. How do you know you can even trust Alpha Marco? If we get caught betraying the pack, that ba**ard Beck won't hesitate to kill our a**es" my wolf says. "We won't get caught. We will continue to get close to Jayden, in case Alpha Marco is too much of a
coward to take over the pack."
"Jayden hasn't forgiven his brother and will be easily swayed if we continue to plant the seed of hatred for the pain Beck caused him." Heavy footsteps bring me out of my conversation with my wolf. I turn just in time to see that pr*ck Brent approaching me. "What are you doing out here?" "I could ask you the same question. You disappeared rather quickly after Waller was brought to the training field. What could be more important than watching your friend end his tormentor," Brent asks.
I take a step closer. "I'm surprised you even wanted to be there to see your ex-mate die!' see my words hit their mark when he stumbles back. Did he really think that none of us knew he was rejected by Waller? Waller was so pissed when he realized he was mated to a man he beat the sh*t out of Brent before he f**ked three of the pack sl*ts to prove he wasn't gay. There were three of us that knew exactly what happened that day.
Needless to say, we were all called into the Alpha's office and commanded to never speak about what we had seen and heard. The only reason I can say the words now is that Corey must be dead. "You are a real a**hole, do you know that? I'm glad that ba**ard rejected me. He was a piece of sh*t that only cared about himself. So, you didn't answer my question, Fredrick. What the f**k are you doing out here when you should have been with the new Alpha," Brent says. 1/4

I throw my head back and laugh. "Last time I checked Brent, you never did become Beta because your so-called best friend abandoned you and this pack. Which means I don't answer to you. Technically, I out rank you, so learn to mind your own business.1 turn and start to make my way through the trees. "I may not be happy with Beck or what he did, but if you f**k with the pack Fredrick, I won't hesitate to deal with you title or not," Brent says.
My wolf bristles at his threat, but I continue to walk back toward the pack house. That a**hole better not get in my way or he'll suffer the same fate as his fated mate. I make my way through the pack house to the second floor which is where the ranked warriors stay.
There are only three of us. I guess I'll have the floor to myself now that Jerome and Bruno are dead. I stash the burner phone in my dresser before I head to the shower. As I lather my skin with my body wash my mind goes back to Beck's new mate. She is definitely better than that pathetic omega the goddess chose for him.
Maybe when Marco deals with him, he'll let me claim her. I smile as I think about her perfect little body. Everything will be perfect if Marco agrees to the deal. I'll be Beta and finally have a mate that is worthy of me instead of a wh*re who was willing to spread her legs to become
Luna.
Beckham POV
I make my way to the fourth floor of the pack house. It's so strange to be back here after all
this time. I wonder how far the omegas have gotten setting up the rooms. I will need to make
arrangements for not only our house but the businesses. "Alpha," a soft feminine voice
interrupts my thoughts. I look at a girl who can't be more than eighteen. "I'm sorry if I startled you, Alpha. I just wanted to let you know you and the Luna's room is ready" she says, pointing to the door behind her.
I'm about to protest as I recognize the room as my father's, but she speaks first. "This room was gutted after" her words trail off. "It's alright. I know what you mean." "Everything in this room is brand new. We set the room up across the hall for your heir, Alpha. We were told your pup was a girl, so I hope it is to her liking. We also plan on cleaning out the room that was used by the previous Alpha," she says, but I can see it pains her to call him by the title.
"What is your name?" "Madelena, Alpha. I was fifteen when you left the pack, but I remember
how kind you were to the omegas. It has not been that way since you left. I promise that most of us have not forgotten your kindness. I'm glad you are back," she says. "Thank you, I am glad to be back." She bares her neck before she makes her way toward the stairs. I push open the door to a room that I was never allowed to enter after my mother died.
It looks nothing like it once did. The only thing that is the same is the large bay window with a

seat where my mother read to me and Jayden when we were pups. I walk over and take a seat. It definitely is smaller than I remember, but I'm sure that's because I'm so much bigger. I wonder if Rosalyn will sit here and read to our pups. I fight back the lump in my throat when I think about having another pup. I can't wait to see her round with my pup.
To watch her body change as she protects our pup in her womb. I think about after the pup is born. The thought of being able to share the night feedings, diaper changes, and milestones with Rosalyn that I never had the chance to do with Deborah. Stacey was there, but it's not the same as sharing the experience with your mate. With the other half of your soul.
A knock on the bedroom door brings me out of my thoughts. It must be Madelena or one of the other omegas. No one else should be on this floor without permission. It's a rule in most pack houses to protect the Alpha, Luna, and their pups. I'll need to think about what warriors in charge of guarding the floor. I stand and when I open the door I'm shocked to see Brent. "Brent, what are you doing up here, I ask, sounding harsher than I mean to. I know he is still angry and rightfully so, but I have no idea what his intentions are.
"Believe me, this is the last place I want to be, but I needed to speak to the Alpha. Can we go to your office to have this conversation" he asks. I nod, and he turns making his way down the hall. Once we're inside, I take a seat behind the desk. I expect him to take a seat, but instead he begins to pace. After a minute of his continued pacing, I finally speak. "Do you want to tell me what's going on, Brent, or are you going to walk a hole in my office floor?"
That seems to snap him out of whatever has him so frazzled. "I hate you for leaving us behind without a second thought. I may not have been your brother by blood, but I thought of you as my brother. You were my best friend and I would have done anything for you. Had you just confided in me, I would have fought alongside you against Corey and the other a**holes," he
says.
I go to open my mouth to apologize, but he raises his hand to silence me. He quickly drops his hand to his side, worried that Gideon will take it as disrespect. He wouldn't. Brent is right. We may not have been blood, but I love him the same way I love Jayden and Jacob. I hurt him and I hate myself for it. "No matter how much I hate you for what you did, I love this pack and I would defend it and you, as it's Alpha, until my last breath."
I have no doubt that he is telling the truth. I can see the sincerity in his eyes. "I know you would, Brent. I know saying I'm sorry is just words, but I mean them. I don't blame you for hating me, but I hope in time I can earn your forgiveness. I was so focused on my own pain I forgot about everyone else's." "I don't want or need your apology, Alpha. I came here to talk about Fredrick Blane. I am worried that he is betraying you and the pack," he says. 3/4
