‘I will plan this trap after discussing it with Alice.’ He thought and controlled Alice from behaving like a mad woman. “I thought to you both are here to take my order,” Caroline said, ignoring Alice’s behavior. “Mark, please note down my order.”

“You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?” Alice asked again. “You’re here to make fun of us, don’t you?”

“Trust me, I have a lot of things to do,” Caroline replied calmly.

“Trust you? Hah!! You never trusted me enough to share your real identity with me.” Alice mocked her. “You betrayed me.” She accused Caroline next.

“Alice!! I’m here for lunch, so if you don’t want to be my waiter, then ask any other colleague to take your place.” Caroline said to end the fight. Since that was the reserved area, not everyone was allowed to go there.

“Lunch? That too Alone?” Alice mocked.

“Enough, Alice. It’s her uncle’s restaurant. So, let’s not create any scene, or it might cost us our job.” Mark said, trying to calm his wife.

“Of course!! She can do anything with money. Even she got her to look changed because of money, but true love can’t be bought with money. That’s the reason she is still sitting alone here while we are together.” Alice used those words to hurt Caroline, but she just looked unaffected. She might have felt bad if she wouldn’t meet Artemis.

“If what you have is TRUE LOVE, then I’m so glad that I never disclosed my real identity to you both; otherwise, I would have fed milk to snakes near me.” Caroline mocked them, finally getting irritated with Alice’s words. She could have used her powers as well but using power to hurt humans was like breaking the rule, and in that case, Colton’s sword would start telling him to punish her.

“Whom do you call SNAKES? You..”

“Bae, I’m so sorry. I took five minutes extra.” Artemis apologized, entering the reserved area and the manager of the restaurant was behind him. All the reserved area was soundproof, even for a supernatural creature, so Artemis didn’t hear what they were discussing before. Both Mark and Alice turned around to see the person who called Caroline ‘BAE.’

But he eyed the situation suspiciously when he saw the waiters were still there, and there was no sign of anything. Not even a refreshment drink?

“Alice, Mark, what are you two still doing here?” The manager asked in a strict tone. “Why is the refreshment drink still not served to Mrs. Gosling?” While hearing that particular name, not just Artemis’s eyes narrowed but also his jaws clenched.

“Mrs. Gosling?”

“Are they the same SNAKES about whom you told me?” Artemis asked, glaring at them. In this way, he also silently told them that he knew everything that they did to Caroline. Mark couldn’t help but feel jealous looking at Artemis. After all, Artemis looked so much better than him, and competing in front of him was a waste of time. At the same time, Caroline didn’t miss how Alice looked at her mate. “You? Place my chair near my wife’s chair,” he ordered Mark because the chair arrangement was opposite Caroline’s.

“I don’t understand why did you call them SNAKES?” The manager asked in confusion.

“Nothing, Mr. Petit,” Caroline replied before Artemis’s statement could cost Alice and Mark jobs. “Can you please change our waiters?” She requested politely, to which the manager agreed immediately. Once they left, Caroline placed her hand on her mate’s thigh, rubbing it softly.

“Calm down, honey. Because of them, we are here and together.” She muttered.

“Are you teasing us, Mate?” Artemis asked with a frown and earned a slap on his thigh from Caroline with fake anger.

Immediately his father mind linked him. ‘Arti, we are landed in Paris. And I guess I spotted your father-in-law as well.’

‘Dad? Can Mom’s past hamper our marriage in any way?’

‘No. Sila’s past is just related to Caroline’s but… but Megan’s past deed can ruin your relationship with Caroline.’

‘I don’t think so. Sarah’s dad already knows about her, so it won’t affect him. Also, Sarah once told me that she would choose me over her parents.’ Artemis assured him.

‘Even after knowing that Megan Rossi is the reason because of which she became an Orphan?’ Lorenzo asked. He wanted to talk with Artemis from the moment when he came to know from Sila that Caroline’s parent’s wanted to know about Sila’s past. But he was with the arrangements and other things related to the Alpha ceremony. He had to make Santino the new Alpha of the pack, so he didn’t get to replace any single second to breathe during that time. And from the morning, Artemis was busy with Caroline, and he didn’t want to disclose these when he would be near Caroline.

That was why when Lorenzo asked about him and Caroline around ten minutes ago. He said that he was in the middle of the meeting and asked him to mind linked him after ten to fifteen minutes. What Artemis failed to mention was that he was returning back to Caroline for lunch.
