“Yes. He is. Just because he is our mate, nothing happened.” Shaba responded. “You have been studying witchcraft for the last seventeen years, and you didn’t know about it?” She questioned.

“Actually, I was absent from the class when the professor was teaching this topic,” Caroline replied, to which Shaba rolled her eyes. “You don’t have to give me that look, okay? Mom met with an accident, so I was with handling family and especially Tee and Lee because Dad was already disturbed at that time.”

“Fine. I get it. I’m your wolf, but that doesn’t make you a werewolf because I’m connected with your power or magic. I can come to the surface only when you will use magic. The rest of the things you can replace in witchcraft.”

“So, it means your presence is equal to using my powers all the time?”

“Umm… sadly, yes!”

“But… I can’t do that all the time.” Caroline replied, furrowing her eyebrow. “I will have to keep absorbing power from other sources, and that is not right.”

“I know. I won’t ask you to do this. But now that I’m here. I will need my mates… correction, our mate too. And I have to mark him as well. I have to claim our mate. They will be so surprised to see me. That’s why I was trying to wake up for long.”

“Long? How long was I out?” She questioned and concentrated her mind to wake up. All she could hope was that Artemis wouldn’t be getting worried.

Artemis was getting worried, seeing Caroline unconscious for this long. It was already five hours, and she was still conscious. Artemis changed her wet clothes and wrapped her in the sheet while she had already dried her long hair.

‘Don’t worry. The human body takes time to adjust to werewolves’ venom.’ Bolt assured Artemis. ‘Because of this, sometimes they’re out for a few days as well.’

‘You’re scaring me, Bolt.’

‘Why are you thinking in a negative way? She is our mate. Our venom can never be dangerous to her. Take a chill pill. She is strong to handle this.’ he added positively.

‘By the way, have you ever touched her hand and observed her carefully?’

‘Yes! A lot of times. She has the body of a fighter. Her legs and hands are strong, and not just that, her palms are rough. Isn’t it strange that she lived in the human world and trained like a witch? Not just trained but highly trained. She doesn’t need books like a new witch for any spell. She remembers each and every spell.’ Artemis pointed out. ‘We both know that she is hiding a lot of things with us, but at the same time, we know that we can live with that truth rather than living without her.’ he added and caressed her face.

‘True.’ At the same time, they felt someone bugging their mind, indicating that someone was trying to mindlink him AGAIN. He opened it, wondering what in heaven was so important because of which someone was irritating him.

‘Hey, buddy!! I’m sorry for disturbing you.’ They heard Raul’s tensed voice in their mind.

‘You better come to point, Raul. And didn’t I clearly mention that I don’t want to get disturbed because I will be spending my time with my mate?’

‘It’s important. VERY important.’ Raul mentioned. ‘Santino threw a grand party on your behalf as your birthday party.’

Artemis greeted his teeth, hearing this. He could say that this was a planned one.

‘I know. It’s our fault that no one observed what he was up to because we all were disturbed by the news that your mate is a witch and she was with you in your penthouse without anyone’s knowledge. We were worried for your safety. And now, we can understand your attraction toward her because she is a witch, and she might….’

‘Say a word more, Raul. I swear this will be the last day of our friendship.’

Those were just the things that he wanted to achieve in his career, but now, Caroline was his family, and he would always, always choose family over these stupid things.

His hoooman part already knew that challenge that he might face because of his absence in the party that was thrown in his name, for his birthday, but there was no way he was going to attend any party leaving his mate.

He heard the knock on the door. His jaws clenched in anger, but still, he walked toward the door.

“Hello, Mr. Gosling.” Aiden greeted him. Artemis didn’t return his greeting, just looked at him with thin eyes. “Can I have a moment with you?” he asked before adding. “ALONE.”

Artemis looked at his mate and sighed before walking out of that room.

“I think your phone has been switched off since the morning.” Aiden pointed out. Artemis remembered that he had broken it last night. “That’s Beta Heir; Raul called me and asked me to inform me that… these are his words, not mine.” Aiden already warned because the last thing he wanted to throw out of the room by a pissed Alpha heir. “You’re fighting and getting pissed with everyone for your mate, but your mate is nothing but trouble.
