Chapter 163 Stacy

Lien had a grim expression on her face.

She grabbed Cato and walked toward Herman.

In a little while, they would send Herman to the funeral home.

According to Herman's will, there would be no memorial service. He would be cremated and taken to Dianville City to be buried with his wife.

"These old folks are indirectly insulting me!" Cato's face turned pale.

Cato believed that although he couldn't compare to those business geniuses, he still had a good mind.

He thought he just lacked a bit of luck!

"What's the deal with the heirship? Is your mother really foolish enough to hand over the entire family business to an outsider?" Lien felt uneasy.

Lien hadn't expected that after over twenty years, Rose would replace out the truth about what happened back then.

After that, Rose even cut off all ties with Lien and Cato.

But as Cato was Rose's eldest son, Lien had always thought that no matter what, Rose wouldn't abandon him for a woman.

"I can't replace out anything about the company recently. You don't know. How could I know?" Cato was also anxious.

That woman was really close to his mother.

In all these years, Cato had never seen his strict mother show such tenderness to anyone.

And Rose even listened to that woman!

Seeing this, Lien lowered her gaze and started wiping. "It's all my fault. If I hadn't fallen in love with you back then and hadn't been with you, we wouldn't be in this situation now..."

Seeing Lien blame herself, Cato quickly comforted her, saying, "How could this be your fault? If anyone is to blame, it's that malicious woman, Stacy! It's been so many years, and she still wants to falsely accuse you!"

Lien didn't say anything.

She leaned on her husband's chest, silently shedding tears.

How could that stupid Stacy can harm her?

Besides, Stacy had been dead for many years. Lien felt that Stacy must have turned to dust by now.

Athena brought some breakfast from the care home cafeteria. She had tasted the food here before and pretty much enjoyed them.

She placed the breakfast in front of Rose.

Rose seemed a bit downcast.

"I'm sorry you had to witness all of this."

"What do their fault have to do with you?" Athena handed a cup of milk toward Rose and said, "Drink it while it's hot. You shall warm yourself up."

Rose took a sip.

Suddenly, she felt better.

Athena took a bite of the bun.

After thinking for a while, Athena asked, "Is that woman you are looking for named Stacy?"

What a coincidence. Athena's mother was also named Stacy.

"Yes, Stacy," Rose said.

Athena nodded, didn't mention her mother's name was also Stacy.

"It seems that Sir William and his wife had a very strong bond."

"More than just strong. If it weren't for his daughter at that time, Herman would have passed away alongside his wife." Rose sighed and shook her head, "So when Lien was brought back home, Herman was actually in a lot of pain."

Athena ate silently.

"Lien's foster parents were very cruel to her. She went through a lot of hardships and didn't even finish elementary school. As for Stacy, she grew up in luxury and received the best elite education. In the end, she married into the Stella family."

As Athena listened, she could probably understand Herman's pain.

"Stacy also felt guilty. She and Herman treated Lien well, always fulfilling her requests. Who knew that Lien would become infatuated with the title of Mrs. Stella? I don't believe a single word about Lien's so- called true love. Besides having a good appearance, my son is utterly worthless!"

"What happened afterward?" Athena asked.

"Afterwards..." Rose furrowed her brows, looking pained. "That day, I caught Stacy and her childhood sweetheart in bed."
